About Dan Ross

Dan Ross

DJ

Hi, I’m Dan Ross — a NYC-based DJ with over a decade of experience bringing unforgettable energy to weddings, private events, and dance floors across the city. From your first dance to your final send-off, I’ll work with you to craft a soundtrack that feels like you — blending hip-hop, pop, reggaeton, R&B, afrobeats, house, and more to keep the energy flowing and the dance floor full. Whether I’m DJing or MCing, my focus is always on creating a seamless experience your guests will remember long after the night ends.

I got my start in NYC’s nightlife scene, holding down residencies at bars and clubs across the city. That foundation sharpened my ability to read a room, keep a crowd moving, and adapt to any vibe — all of which I bring into every wedding and private event I play. Outside of live gigs, I’m a Senior Producer on the DJ Mix team at Apple Music, where I collaborate with world-class DJs to shape global programming. That work fuels my passion for discovering new sounds and sharing them in ways that bring people together.

    We didn’t stop dancing

Planning a wedding is not for the faint of heart. Dan was without a doubt our favorite vendor. He made our celebration personal and paid attention to all the small details. We loved the way he MCd (we wanted something tasteful). Most importantly, he had the dance floor going all night. We loved working with him!

    Book Dan Ross TODAY!

Dan Ross is the man. His vibes are immaculate. His transitions are flawless. His taste in music is unmatched. For our wedding, we asked Dan to cut and stitch songs for our first dance, mother-son dance, and father-daughter dance songs. He executed these perfectly. He matched the mood of our party perfectly. And with just a small sample of songs we wanted him to play at our wedding, he came up with a banging playlist. He got our guests dancing all night long.

My background is rooted in NYC's club and nightlife scene, where every crowd is different and reading the room is everything. Years of performing in packed venues taught me how to recognize the right song at the right moment, build energy naturally, and keep people on the dance floor. I bring that same instinct to every wedding, pairing thoughtful planning with real-time adaptability to create a celebration that feels personal, seamless, and uniquely yours.
Every wedding package includes professional DJ and MC services, premium sound equipment, wireless microphones for speeches and toasts, planning assistance, timeline coordination, and unlimited consultations leading up to your wedding. I also work closely with your planner, photographer, venue, and other vendors to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
Absolutely. I can provide music and sound for every part of your wedding day, from the ceremony and cocktail hour to dinner and an unforgettable reception. I'll help coordinate music cues for the processional, recessional, grand entrance, first dance, parent dances, and any other special moments.
Absolutely. Every wedding is different, and your music should reflect that. You'll have complete input on the artists, genres, and songs you love, as well as anything you'd prefer not to hear. Together, we'll create a soundtrack that feels uniquely yours while leaving room for me to read the crowd and keep the energy flowing.
I'm an open-format DJ, which means I seamlessly mix across genres based on the crowd and your preferences. Some of the styles I regularly play include Top 40, Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, Disco, Motown, House, Dance, Afrobeats, Latin, Reggaeton, Funk, Classic Rock, Throwbacks, and more.
Preparation is only half the equation. Reading the room is just as important. I pay close attention to the energy on the dance floor and adjust the music in real time, knowing when to build momentum, when to switch genres, and when to bring back crowd favorites. Every wedding is different, so I never rely on the same playlist.
Yes. My MC style is polished, professional, and never over-the-top. I'll make important announcements, introduce key moments, and help keep the evening on schedule while allowing the focus to stay where it belongs—on you and your guests.
I typically arrive 2–3 hours before guests begin arriving, depending on your venue and setup requirements. This allows plenty of time for setup, sound checks, and coordination with your planner and venue staff before the celebration begins.
Yes. I provide professional sound equipment, wireless microphones, and everything needed for excellent audio throughout your wedding. All equipment is maintained and tested before every event to ensure reliable performance.
Yes. I'm fully insured and can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) to your venue upon request. Many venues require this, and I'm happy to coordinate directly with them if needed.
Absolutely. While I'm based in New York City, I regularly perform throughout the Tri-State area and am available for destination weddings as well. Travel fees may apply depending on the location.
Once your date is secured, you'll receive access to my planning process, including questionnaires, music planning, and timeline assistance. We'll stay in touch throughout the planning process, schedule a final planning meeting before your wedding, and make sure every detail is finalized well before the big day so you can relax and enjoy your celebration.
Absolutely. Reliability is incredibly important to me. I bring backup equipment and cables to every wedding, and I always have contingency plans in place so your celebration can continue without interruption if the unexpected happens.
Definitely. I believe the best weddings happen when vendors work as one team. I'll coordinate with your planner, photographer, videographer, venue, and other vendors to make sure every announcement, special dance, and major moment happens seamlessly and on schedule.
Yes! In addition to professional sound and DJ services, I offer elegant uplighting and a classic mirror ball to help transform your reception space. Whether you're looking for a warm, romantic glow during dinner or a fun, high-energy dance floor, these enhancements add an extra layer of atmosphere without overwhelming your venue. I'd be happy to recommend options that best fit your space and vision.
