“Chef Ellen and her team delivered delicious food for our wedding on May 1st. My husband and I had spoken to other caterers who seemed to want to tell us what we wanted our wedding to be like, but Chef Ellen listened to us and enthusiastically created a menu that checked all of our boxes, including dietary preferences and restrictions. We had a tasting at our home and once we tasted the food, we knew we picked the right caterer. Our guests agreed. It didn't go unnoticed that our food options were anything but the regular wedding fare. We wanted a Mediterranean vibe for all of our entrees and Chef Ellen and her team delivered. As the venue was outside, she worked with her preferred rental vendor, Big Dawg Rental, and ordered all of the equipment needed for the catering operation, keeping me in the loop and checking in on cost. She identified cost savings by asking if I wanted to order some items outside of rentals, which I did on occasion. We hired the serving staff from Renegade as well and they did a great job. I highly recommend Renegade Outpost for a unique catering experience. We definitely received what we wanted.”

“My husband and I got married at a brewery in Queens that had zero kitchen or kitchen access. I was really worried it would be difficult to find a caterer who could work within the constraints of our non-traditional venue while also accommodating a guest count of 130. However, the team at Italiana Foods absolutely exceeded my expectations and the blew it out of the park! They were super professional, efficient, organized, communicative, and most importantly, honest (which is VERY hard to come by in NYC area). From setup, to service, to cleanup... everything went so smoothly and I couldn't have asked for a better experience as a bride. My guests absolutely raved about the food - especially the pastas and the salmon (which was large portions)! The Caesar salad was also one of the best I've ever had - the dressing was to die for! My husband and I were beyond thrilled to have some leftovers that we will be eating for the next few days :). The team really eased my mind with all the stress that comes with wedding planning. Not only that, but when I was at my peak of wedding stress due to weather not being in our favor and us having to make major adjustments last minute with the venue layout (which had nothing to do with them or their services), they sent the kindest most heartful messages. They absolutely did not have to take the time to do that. It was above and beyond the requirement of their services and you could 100 percent tell how much they care about their clients. I do not have enough good things to say about Italiana Foods. I would absolutely refer them to anyone in the area in need of a caterer - for any type of event (not just a wedding)! “Red Table catered my wedding in April at a loft space in Flatiron, NYC and I can't say enough good things about them. Pierce, our catering coordinator from Red table is an absolute rockstar. We had a cocktail style wedding and I was nervous about space and making people comfortable and he was so sure that he had it under control, and he was right. SO MANY guests remarked about how friendly the servers were. We flipped the room midway between ceremony and reception and they didn’t so fast, no one even noticed it happened. The bartenders were real bartenders who moved fast and made good drinks. Also, the bar display was *chefs kiss* Wedding food is notoriously underwhelming, but not ours. Everyone RAVED about the apps, the stations, the service!!! The food was so plentiful there was never an opportunity to go hungry. The lambchops were a standout passed app. Everything was presented beautifully. 10/10!!!!”

“As a planner, I work with so many caterers, and Purslane stands out among them all. The food completely surpasses any "wedding food" I have ever had, and they are one of the rare caterers that excels equally at sweet and savory preparations. I'm still dreaming about the sea bass, the hanger steak, the butternut squash gnocchi, and the almond cookies. And so much of their stuff happens to be gluten-free (but still amazing)! The Purslane team are warm, kind, and prompt, always willing to share advice and knowledge about every part of planning a wedding (which is essential when working at a unique wedding like the Prospect Park Boathouse). Their commitment to being carbon-neutral and kind to the planet means a lot to me as a vendor in an often-wasteful industry. The meal, including the appetizer spread, was lush and abundant, but there was much less food waste than I normally witness. Hire Purslane if you want a partner in planning as well as an amazing caterer.”

“This review is a tad long so bear with me. I worked with La Mila Catering for my sister’s wedding which was held on 27 July 2024. While planning my wedding a few years ago I knew what to expect and what questions to ask. What I didn’t expect was working with such a lovely and genuine team. I worked with Sandy specifically for catering services only. She’s spunky, lively, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Working with her has been a pleasure and I felt as if I were talking to one of my best friends. Sandy is a great salesperson. She not only explains what La Mila offers but she does it in a way that is transparent and has no unexpected costs and “fine print”. She communicates well and is direct, which I appreciate. She’s a talker and I don’t mean that negatively. She makes you feel like family most sincerely. In terms of planning and coordination, Sandy was excellent and they’re lucky to have her. Menu: When creating the menu my sister wanted Mediterranean food. Now, I believe that their specialty is Mediterranean cuisine, but they do not shy away from other cuisines. Their menu is extensive and will cater to anyone’s taste. Skies the limit! We had quite a bit of offerings for Cocktail hour, Dinner, and Dessert. We were able to have a tasting which helped us narrow down if what was selected previously was what they wanted for the day of the wedding. There we met Elie (E-Lee NOT El-lee) and Heidi, the owners, and Sandy in person. Elie is the head chef and knows what he’s doing in the kitchen. Everything was cooked to perfection; delicious tasting and the portions were filling. Aside from the food it was obvious that Elie and Heidi work hard for their business and are truly dedicated. Day of the wedding: Elie, Heidi and their team worked based on the wedding timeline that I created. They were on time to serve all their food. I can’t tell you how many times I saw Elie walking back and forth to check on food and to bring food. That guy was moving! Heidi did all of the cocktail and dessert table placement and more. They are a hardworking team and I highly recommend them. From start to finish it was easy and perfectly executed. Point blank the food was delicious and I wish they had a restaurant so I could eat there all the time. LOL Thank you again for your friendship, delicious food and professionalism. *I wish I took pictures.”

“As soon as we visited On the Marc for our food tasting, we knew that the food would be fantastic—and more on that in a minute—but OTM really set itself apart with the service. They greeted our guests with flavored waters when they arrived (hugely helpful for a mid-summer wedding), had servers ready with drinks and food as soon as cocktail hour started, prepared an appetizer platter for a quick private moment as newlyweds, and much much more. A few things stick out over all though: first, the servers were so attentive that they realized a friend of mine was absolutely smashing one of the appetizers and kept bringing those to her (even learning to take the mint leaf off as she did). Second, they rolled with the punches as we realized we may have screwed up some food placards, accommodating our request to check with each guest to make sure we had it right. Third, they had servers march out all at the same time to bring courses during dinner services, a super-professional touch which gave the service a white-glove-service feel. The food was delicious, and everyone kept commenting on it (even on the dance floor where they brought desserts!!). Overall, the food was amazing, the only thing better than the food was the service, and we highly recommend OTM to anyone considering them!”

“We worked with Krisp for our wedding on September 1, 2019. We had the chance to visit their space in Brooklyn for couple rounds of amazing tastings including all kinds of appetizers, entrees, cocktail and even dessert samples. Oh man, the variety and creativity of their food is simply mind blowing! We could clearly tell that their chef always puts their clients' need at front and center of everything. During the seated dinner reception, our guests were pleasantly impressed by the food's beautiful presentation and deliciousness. They even helped us source a couple of Lady M crepe cakes for the dessert station!
