Catering Manager

Emma's Torch is a social enterprise that provides culinary training for refugees, asylees, and survivors of human trafficking. We offer a variety of full-service catering events in the Washington, DC area and the New York area.

We care deeply about our customers, and offer customized proposals and support from start to finish. We care deeply about your event and will do whatever we can to make it a rousing success! We offer Halal, gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options.

    Easy to work with and amazing food

    I recently got married at Prospect Park Picnic House. Emma's Torch is one of the preferred vendors in that venue. It was an absolute pleasure working with them! I was initially a bit skeptical since catering is not their main business, but it quickly became obvious that they are very experiences and organized. The best part is that food tasted amazing! We got so many compliments on the desserts.

    Amazing food and a wonderful organization

    We loved working with Emma's Torch for our wedding. Amanda and her entire team were incredibly thoughtful, kind, and responsive through the entire process, from our amazing tasting to our wedding day. The food was unique and delicious - we got so many complements from our guests (we particularly recommend the samosas, salads, and vegetable tagine). Emma's Torch has such an important mission and does vital work in the community - we would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding or any other celebration!

    Couldn't have dreamed a better caterer

    The food was delicious (a fact *many* guests were incredulous about), the staff so kind, and Amanda the catering manager an amazing partner. From the initial tasting when we felt like royalty, to the dozen twists and turns to our order to get the price down to the wire, all the way through 11th hour changes to the rentals (changes, I might add, that Amanda had already foreseen!), we were so happy with our choice to go with Emma’s Torch. It was a cherry on top that they are a nonprofit with such a fantastic mission.

Yes, we charge a standard fee for delivery within Manhattan. Additional fees may apply to deliveries to other boroughs.
Yes, we offer tastings for you and a guest for a small fee. If you sign a contract with us beforehand, we can waive this fee.
We recommend meeting 2 more times after your tasting. One meeting will focus on finalizing menus and headcount. One to go over final venue and wedding logistics.
We are full service. We will take you on a walk-through of available rentals and work with you to find options within your budget.
We are full service. We will organize full rental coordination to meet all of your event needs.
For summer and fall weddings, we recommend at least 10 months in advance.
In New York we serve all five boroughs in Manhattan, and in DC we serve the greater DMV area.
We can customize fully vegetarian, vegan, or halal menus.
For a small per person fee, we can cut and serve your wedding cake to your guests.
