The Dickens Opera House, a venue located in Longmont, Colorado, harbors a rich history and legacy from its beginnings in 1881. William Henry Dickens, who originally built the opera house, obtained the land through his father who was given the land by Ulysses S. Grant. Not only does this land have ties to President Grant, but also to the author Charles Dickens, who was related to William Henry Dickens. While it was renovated a few years ago, the historic roots of this landmark were carefully preserved so that its history could continue to be told and celebrated. The Denver Athletic Club is a private membership owned club that was established in Denver in 1884. The DAC moved to it’s current location in 1892 and has expanded in the years since to now occupy the entire city block. Second only to it’s namesake amenity (our athletic facilities), the event spaces we have on premises are classic, elegant and charming to any event attendees we host! We do all catering in house and have an amazing Executive Chef that delivers incredible plated dinners and buffets!
