Welcome to Once Upon a Time Events LLC, a wedding venue located in Kiowa, CO The venue sets the perfect scene for a country wedding, surrounded by the Colorado hills, mature trees and scenic views that stretch over 40 miles. The barn is conveniently located a half mile off state highway 86, but provides the quiet privacy of the rural countryside. We are committed to creating an event that is uniquely yours, customizing services to your particular needs and preferences. The venue space can accommodate weddings small and large, with affordable and competitive pricing. Situated on 70 acres of scenic hills, pastures and farms. The 3,200-square-foot barn offers a charming, rustic feel that is perfect for your dream country wedding. Draped with tulle and fairy lighting, the barn has a rustic yet elegant feel. The venue has several unique spaces, including outdoor decks complete with cafe lighting, a dedicated ceremony site, patio heaters, gas fire pits and a bridal changing suite.

Beautiful Venue
We had our wedding at Once Upon a Time Events in Kiowa, CO, and it was absolutely perfect! This rustic barn venue offers breathtaking 40-mile views of the Colorado hills—ideal for both outdoor ceremony and evening reception. The barn is charming with fairy lights, warm wood details, and a welcoming atmosphere. Lark and Janine are incredible hosts who made everything seamless and stress-free. Our guests loved it and we created memories we’ll cherish forever. Highly recommend this hidden gem for a beautiful, affordable country wedding!

Once Upon A Time Events made planning our wedding so easy from start to finish. Lark and Janine responded to every question we had, worked with us when we needed to change things, and genuinely wanted to help us create our dream day. What really impressed us was how affordable their pricing is—we got a gorgeous venue without breaking the bank. They went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect, and our guests haven't stopped talking about how beautiful the space was. We felt taken care of throughout the entire process, and we'd book with them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend Once Upon A Time Events to any couple planning their wedding.

Amazing Venue!
Once Upon A Time Events LLC was absolutely amazing to work with from start to finish. Janine and Lark were great communicators and their attention to detail was top-tier. They had the tables all set up for our 140 guest reception before we even arrived, which was such a relief. The venue itself is gorgeous and we wouldn't have changed a single thing about our special day there. We are so grateful to have been able to hold our wedding at this beautiful location, and Janine and Lark helped make it a day we'll never forget. Thank you for everything!

Beautiful Venue at an Affordable Price
After looking at many other venues, this one was booked on the spot because of its beauty, charm and it is so affordable for everything that you receive. There were so many scenic pictures taken because you have views for miles, foresty and the plains. They have a beautiful castle that guests enjoyed seeing, cool vintage campers and an antique yellow truck for wonderful backdrops. We had over 140 guests and there was plenty of room in the venue, outside on the deck and around the campers. The owners are very kind and laid back. We went out a few months before the wedding to see how our decor would look, a walk through with the caterer & coordinator and the rehearsal and weren't charged any additional time fees. They have multiple props in storage that you can use for decor. I also appreciated that you aren't required to use certain vendors which really saves money as well. The extra bonus to this hidden gem is a double wide, remodeled mobile home with decks to use as an area to get ready in. There was so much space for the bridal party and families to hang out in and enjoy getting ready without being in tight quarters. We received so many compliments from guests about what an amazing location it was. So, so happy with our decision and wish we could relive the day over again!

Amazing venue with a beautiful view
Once Upon A Time Events LLC was an amazing wedding venue for our special day. From the very first time we reached out, they always replied within a day and were incredibly responsive and communicative throughout the entire planning process. The venue itself was absolutely beautiful and stunning - the decor and atmosphere exceeded our expectations.
