Lara Rose Photography

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,200
  • Serves Atlanta, MI

Hey! I’m Lara (say it like Sarah). I’m a Detroit native, but have been soaking up the gorgeous South Florida sunshine since 2014. I love working in both Florida and Michigan! I’m an old soul: a lot of my friends joke that I’m 30 going on 90. I love old movies, interesting traditions, crossword puzzles, Peruvian food, animals, and Harry Potter.. I love traveling the world with my favorite travel buddy, my husband. We got married in 2017, and going through that process of being a bride myself gave me a fresh perspective on the art of documenting a wedding day.

Awarded Best of Zola
Lara Rose is one of the most professional and talented photographers that I have had the pleasure to work with in the wedding industry. She not only delivers stunning work to her clients, she also is a truly authentic and kind person making the whole process an absolute joy. Another thing that is very important for me is that she timely, an excellent communicator, and confident with giving directions. I highly recommend her for anyone wanting an incredible 5-star experience with a photographer!

Couple o' Mittens Photography
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $1,750
  • Serves Atlanta, MI

Hey there! We’re Shannon and Devin, the husband-and-wife team behind Couple o’ Mittens! We specialize in adventure elopements and intimate weddings across Michigan for couples who want a day that feels meaningful, relaxed, and surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Outside of photography, we spend a lot of time exploring deep into the backcountry in our home state and beyond (AK, WA, WY, CA, TN, etc) —hiking trails, scouting scenic overlooks, and discovering quiet places along the Great Lakes. That experience allows us to help couples find incredible locations and create a wedding day that feels natural, personal, and unforgettable.

Couple o' Mittens Photography was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. There was never any pressure, more like a guiding hand. They made us feel completely comfortable throughout the entire process and were happy to provide a variety of locations and styling recommendations for our shoot. There was no awkward posing, just natural, candid photos that truly reflected our personalities. They captured several special moments, including some beautiful shots during the twilight hours. We were thrilled with the quick turnaround time and variety of photos they provided, giving us wonderful memories to cherish.

  • Serves Atlanta, MI

Hi, I'm Shonda! I am a wedding photographer based in Northern Michigan. I am all about capturing the real emotions and connections of your wedding day. With a focus on small intimate weddings and elopements, my documentary photography style is genuine and authentic, conveying the equality and love between you and your partner. I strive to create images that convey your unique story.

Awarded Best of Zola
Shonda is absolutely unparalleled in the industry. Neither my husband nor I are typically comfortable in front of the camera, but Shonda did an incredible job putting us at ease through her approach of encouraging connection and focus on each other, rather than being rigidly posed. She captured our love in an authentic way that felt intimate and unique, which is essential for what I'd say is one of the most important vendors you choose for your wedding day. She was organized, thoughtful, and thorough at every point in the process, and can make a wedding at any venue feel special and snazzy. We HIGHLY recommend her to any future couples!

We worked with Promani Weddings for photography and videography on our wedding day. Upon the initial call with Benjamin, we could tell we were in good hands. Everything was done so seamlessly and we had check-ins multiple times throughout the planning process. Our photographer Rayna was absolutely amazing! She was great with coordinating our timeline, identifying photo opportunities, and was very personable with everyone. Our videographer Austin was equally as amazing! He was able to capture all of our favorite ceremony and reception details throughout the day in our wedding video. You can tell they have a passion for capturing authentic moments, and the photos speak for themselves. Our family and guests continued to comment throughout the day with how impressed they were by their professionalism, attentiveness and hard work. We are very pleased with how our wedding photos and video came out, and we cannot recommend Promani Weddings enough!

Hey, hey my name is Ali. NY-based, but working nation-wide, I'm a wedding photographer who captures experiences, genuine love, authentic characters, and immortalizes precious memories. I focus on visualizing how it felt to live your wedding day, while also crafting editorializations simply for the sake of intentional, living art. I am adamant that everyone, of all genders and orientations, any ethnicity, culture, or faith, all shapes, ages, and abilities, are welcome and I’d be delighted to work with you.

Awarded Best of Zola
I couldn’t be happier with my experience working with Ali! She reached out to me on Zola and I am so glad she did. I was impressed with her portfolio and I really loved seeing how she would capture little moments in the weddings she had done. We set up a video call before booking and we clicked. She is very calm and helped with my pre-wedding nerves. She worked with us on a payment plan and she was always very quick to respond to any of my questions. She really listened to what we wanted. She got to the venue early to scout out different shots and came to check in with me a couple of times before we even began taking photos, which I did not expect but was very sweet and considerate of her. When we were taking photos, she really helped to guide the more “posed” photos but she also captured a lot of beautiful candid moments. We had so many guests come up to us and compliment her and that was before we even got the photos back. She sent us our sneak peeks the next day and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. She captured so many beautiful moments and her style is exactly what we wanted. Nothing felt “overly edited” just perfectly genuine. I cannot recommend Ali enough. I cannot wait to see the full gallery of photos because I know they will be nothing short of perfect.

Wildcrest Studio, established by Jessie Harris, is a natural light, lifestyle photographer. I aim to capture the magic of your wedding day and you as a unique couple through peerless, stunning photographs!

Awarded Best of Zola
I am going to try and get off my soapbox for this review but I make no promises. Hiring Jessie Harris and Wildcrest Studios for my wedding was the single best decision I have ever made, except for marrying my husband. We had a small wedding, with a small budget, a very specific vision, no planner or coordinator, and no freaking clue what we were doing. From my first phone call with Jessie I knew that she was something special. She is experienced, organized, diligent, detail oriented, creative, kind, patient, and funny as heck. She truly listens to what you are hoping for and - somehow, despite all odds - she makes it happen. She LITERALLY threw off her shoes and climbed into Lake Michigan to get a shot of my husband and I on a dock at sunset. She kicked the groomsmen out of the area during our first touch because it was ruining the moment and I was too emotional and nervous to say anything. She drove across the state to shoot a pre-wedding reception for us. Alex, the second shooter, tied my husband’s bow tie for him before he walked down the aisle… and my brother’s… and my dad’s… and I’m pretty sure half the groomsmen’s bow ties too. She helped us create the timeline for our wedding day. She even gave us advice on what to pick for our first dance. And, to top it all off, she has provided us with the most unbelievable and stunning engagement, reception, and wedding day photos I could have imagined. Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how I feel when thinking about finding Jessie and Wildcrest Studios. Do yourself a favor and at least send an inquiry. Or don’t, and I’ll keep her all to myself :)

Big fan of dive bars, staring at the stars, forever searching for the best french fries, a blissfully cold Diet Coke, and a true midwestern why fly it's only 15 hours. You'll find me often traveling, spending time in nature, collecting rocks and shopping for vintage t-shirts. I love carefree messy in between moments, photographing my daily life on polaroids and film. I've lived a lot of places (Arizona, Arkansas, and Puerto Rico to name a few!) and have so many places that I treasure and feel at home.

Awarded Best of Zola
When I was in the throes of wedding planning over a year ago, I was reaching out to vendors and putting payments down for June 2, 2024, and was crossing my fingers my deployed fiancé would even be able to attend, thanks to his unpredictable schedule. Amidst the stress (and borderline panic attacks!!) I was having because of that, I was also receiving a lieu of impersonal emails with quotes from photographers. When I got the email back from Jessica, she was the only one who answered with excitement and personality, and gave me a sense that this was supposed to be FUN. All this wedding planning was a very lucky sort of stress, and she didn’t make me feel like I was just some box to check off in her inbox— she was personable and friendly, and I liked her immediately. For the course of the year, Jessica and I kept up with eachother with texts, messages, and Instagram— and I felt like she was already a friend when June arrived. Even after her 12 hour journey to Virginia, she was full of energy and ready to go. She helped adjust some coordination timelines and caught things that I otherwise wouldn’t have. She hung out with my rambunctious family all weekend, witnessing our love and laughter, WIDE range of personalities, and even some sisterly tiffs. Honestly, she whole-heartedly became part of our crew. She ran everything past me when it came to details. Duke and I are not people who are comfortable in front of a camera, and I LOVED having her specifically tell us what to do to look good, while still feeling incredibly relaxed and natural around her. Duke and I kept saying she had Jedi powers the way she was able to flip cameras, batteries and equipment seamlessly. I’m writing this while in the airport leaving our honeymoon, and not only did Duke and I, and our families fall in love with Jessica— I still have guests reaching out to me via text to tell me how they hit it off with her on their own, how impressed they were with her ethic, or how they loved pictures from our sneak peek (eeeek!) I am not a girl who naturally feels pretty or comfortable in front of a camera. Jessica gave me the gift of finally experiencing both of those things on our special day. I felt beautiful and at ease. She captured the bridal portraits that I hope my great grandkids will put in their family tree projects for school one day, some of Dukes family and mine meeting for the first time, friends dancing, and our grandparents mingling and giving us their love. Duke and I knew our big white wedding would be our one chance to have everyone we love in one place. We are well aware of the rarity in that, and the fact that we don’t have much longer with some of those people we love. We’re well aware that these are the photos Duke and I will be looking at with our grandchildren when we’re old and grey, thinking about “the good ol’ days.” These photos are all we will have left one day of the people we love so fiercely, and these versions of ourselves. We will endlessly be grateful for Jessica of her effort and the labor that went into photographing a weekend like ours. She captured every single aspect of us and those we love, and above all us, gave us the gift of memory. 3 Faith and Duke

Hi! My name is Mae, and I live in Brooklyn with my girlfriend, our two dogs Apollo and Bia, her cat Gigi and my lizard, Basil! I’ve always been passionate about capturing moments as authentically and magically as possible, and as i’ve settled more into this career path, I love that i’ve landed in a place where I have the privilege to capture and preserve people’s love stories. Weddings and elopements are so distinctly and uniquely human, and it’s truly the biggest honor to be trusted to document them.

Awarded Best of Zola
I came across Mae’s work when looking for a photographer for engagement photos in Central Park, and I was immediately impressed with Mae and knew we were going to be incredibly happy with the results. Mae responded immediately to all my questions, day or night, and took the time to video chat with me at length twice before the shoot to discuss what we were looking for in our photos. Before the shoot, I had sent her a few examples of what I liked, and not only did the photos come out exactly how I wanted them, but were even more perfect than I envisioned. The engagement shoot itself was so much fun, and Mae made us feel so comfortable throughout the entire process, despite us thinking we’d both feel awkward getting posed photos of us taken. Mae truly had a vision for what poses, locations, and lighting would work, and the execution was perfect. Some of the feedback we got from our friends was that the photos looked like a magazine, and that they were “ethereal.” Even better, Mae somehow got us the edited photos back within 24 hours of the shoot. Her pricing is also incredibly reasonable given the quality of her work, meticulousness, and experience in photography, as well as the very quick turnaround time. My fiance and I truly cannot recommend her enough, and we are excited to work with her again in the future. She is truly an artist, and any couple would be incredibly lucky to work with her!

Anna and Jules were the most perfect photographers for our wedding day. If I could give them 1,000 stars, I would! From the moment we first spoke, they were prompt, easy to work with, and incredibly friendly, putting us at ease throughout the entire process. The quality of their work is truly amazing and unmatched - they captured the true beauty and intimacy of our wedding, never getting in the way but always there to document every important moment. Anna and Jules made me feel special at every turn, and I can't imagine having anyone else photograph us that day. Anna also photographed our engagement pictures so we knew we were in good hands from the start. She was incredibly helpful with planning our wedding day and bringing our vision for our wedding pictures to life. We will definitely be using them again for our other big life moments, and I can't recommend them enough to any couple looking for wedding photographers they can trust completely.

Beyond being a dedicated photographer, I'm a coffee lover, taco enthusiast, concert junkie, Netflix aficionado, and proud pet parent. There’s nothing I love more than photographing love!

Hi! My name is Steve. I do visual storytelling. I’m married with three kids and in my spare time I record music and build things. I've been filming and photographing weddings since 2009. I love travel and getting to know unique couples.

We hired Steven and his team to do our wedding photos and videography. I really wanted a photographer that could capture the soul of the event, and Steven did exactly that. His photos are full of life, and I shared so many portraits with guests that actually got printed out or posted online. If you're looking for hundreds of photos of your wedding party that look exactly the same and for every planned second to be documented, Steven is not your person. If you're looking to hit the big moments but focus on capturing raw moments with timeless photos to get framed, I couldn't recommend them more. I never thought I would get a wedding video because it always seemed cheesy to me. But after watching examples of his work I fell absolutely in love with his videos. I've honestly had a hard time watching ours because it evokes so much emotion. Steven was collaborative and willing to go with the flow. We gave him the difficult task of being prepared for 3 different locations with totally differing lighting (indoor/outdoor plus shooting from high sun into the night). He puts an immense amount of care into his work and the photos are truly art that we will cherish forever. If there are specific things you want covered, be sure to share a list. When it comes to capturing the moments that can't be planned, he is on the case!

Hello! My name is Brigette and I am based out of the Chicago land area, but make it my mission to travel for photography as much as possible! I love the color purple, crazy hats, funk music, & all things outdoors! Traveling is my number one passion! I LOVE connecting with couples and getting to tell their love story authentically. I like to connect my subjects with nature and use natural lighting to create breathtaking images that emphasize my love for the natural beauty we find outside every day!

Brigette Burgman Photography was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding! From start to finish, Brigette's communication was efficient, organized, and personal. Her dynamic, captivating photography was full of emotion and truly captured the essence of our special day. Brigette helped us stick to the timeline by getting all the pictures we wanted, and she was incredibly flexible when I got tired during our portrait session, quickly adjusting the structure to keep me comfortable. As a planner myself, I sometimes struggle to let go and be in the moment, but Brigette's calm, kind demeanor put me at ease. The final photos exceeded our expectations - they are exactly what we had hoped for and more. We are thrilled with Brigette's services and cannot recommend her highly enough!

I captured my first wedding in August of 2018, it was the day I fell head over heels in love with wedding photography. It's all about capturing the love story for me..the feels from beginning to end. When you book with AGS, you're signing on for an adventure. Your engagement session is a celebration full of us getting to know one another, lots of laughter, and having fun! As your wedding nears closer AGS will help with your timeline, connect with your vendors ( or introduce you to some of the best) and help plan out the perfect photo locations, along with any other needs to create the perfect day.

What can I say about Alivia Gray Studios but WOW! Arleigh is fun, creative, professional and just easy to work with. As a Wedding Coordinator, you are always looking out for the best interest of your clients and Arleigh has never disappointed. Clear and concise information throughout the whole process and not to mention her photos are fabulous - her passion for her work really shines through her photographs.

Working with Andy for our engagement and wedding photos has been amazing! He’s quick to respond, awesome at what he does, and so fun to be around. We met Andy for the first time when he did our engagement photos, and there was no awkwardness or weird energy. We instantly hit it off and got to work. His ideas and recommendations and willingness to go along with ANY idea makes him the greatest photographer ever.

Your wedding day should feel like a celebration—not a production you have to manage. So you'll need a photographer who knows when to step in, when to keep things moving, and when to let you forget there’s a camera nearby. I’ll help gather your family, keep portraits organized, fix the little things, make you laugh when you need it, and quietly watch for the moments you never want to forget. You get a photographer, a timeline cheerleader, a family wrangler, and someone fully invested in making sure you actually enjoy your day.

Treehouse Studios Photography was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding day! From the start, their communication style was fun, professional, and creative. The quality of their work was truly stunning - the photos they captured were detailed, professional, and exceeded our expectations. One example of how they contributed to our special day was that the photographer made sure to get couple shot with our direct family members who we had forgotten to include. Additionally, the sneak peeks we received were gorgeous and came promptly. We were greatly impressed by the value of their services, as the pricing was very reasonable for the amazing photos they delivered. I would highly recommend Treehouse Studios Photography to any couple looking for a talented and dedicated wedding photography team.

Creating truly unique wedding photography starts with seeing more than the moment itself. Every location offers its own light, architecture, textures, and atmosphere — and I use those elements with creative composition to create photographs that feel distinctive and personal. By keeping the experience relaxed and embracing the natural rhythm of your day, I'm able to create images that don't just document what happened — they capture it in a way that feels intentional, immersive, and truly different.

We were looking for fun, romantic, light & bright photos that are also timeless and true to color, and man did Rich deliver. Communication was amazing- he doesn't take long to respond and is easy to get ahold of. He was so easy to work with from handling a little last minute chaos with engagement photo locations to us replanning our entire wedding within three months. He made sure our engagement and wedding photos went without a hitch. Not only was Rich fun to work with, but he was a fantastic resource and we enjoyed the levity and expertise he brought to every step of the process. Our photos are STUNNING. I will recommend Gold & Elm to anybody who will listen!
