Big fan of dive bars, staring at the stars, forever searching for the best french fries, a blissfully cold Diet Coke, and a true midwestern why fly it's only 15 hours. You'll find me often traveling, spending time in nature, collecting rocks and shopping for vintage t-shirts. I love carefree messy in between moments, photographing my daily life on polaroids and film. I've lived a lot of places (Arizona, Arkansas, and Puerto Rico to name a few!) and have so many places that I treasure and feel at home.

As a documentary & editorial photographer, my approach is playful, relaxed, romantic and fun. I'm here for the couples who would like their wedding day honestly documented in artful images, full of heartfelt emotions, connection, and in-between moments. True to color, connection based, with a nod to those film photos that make you feel at home. I primarily reside in West Michigan during the summertime, but service the South West, Arkansas as well as Puerto Rico and anywhere that speaks to you.

Adventure Elopement days are custom created for each individual couple, include planning assistance, additional vendor search, location suggestions and scouting. Options for hourly up to full day, depending on location. Beach, ocean, rainforest, the desert out west? Yes.

    The best experience

    Jessica was absolutely incredible as our wedding photographer. From start to finish, she was so communicative, professional, and genuinely fun to work with—exactly the kind of energy you want on your wedding day.     So happy we chose Jessica Max!

    We booked Jessica Max for our garden wedding in May, and are OBSESSED with the photos! She is so talented at capturing the most intimate and candid moments without us even knowing that she is there. We added film photos onto our package and absolutely loved how they turned out. Jessica also captured polaroid pictures throughout the wedding that we got to look at the next day, which was so much fun. It's so hard for us to pick our favorite pictures to get framed, we love them all! Jessica is a true pro and an absolute pleasure to work with. We got a sneak peak of our wedding photos a few days after the event and received the full gallery within the expected timeframe.
