Our experience at Mountain View Ranch was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very beginning, the staff made planning effortless and enjoyable. Every email we sent was answered promptly, usually within a day, and their planning website was intuitive, flexible, and easy to use. One of the best parts of the process was attending the Extravaganza. It gave us the chance to meet vendors, connect with the staff, and sample a variety of delicious food. Every vendor recommended by the venue was professional, responsive, and a joy to work with. On our wedding day, the Mountain View Ranch team exceeded every expectation. We are deeply grateful to Mikayla, Callie, Hunter, Mindy, Andrea, Tess, Kaylee, Nate, Christy, Jess, Tyler, and Sebastian for making the day magical. But the biggest thanks goes to Abby, our coordinator. She brought laughter and joy to the planning process, kept everything seamless on the big day, and ensured we had everything we needed at every moment. Thanks to her, our stress melted away, and we could fully enjoy the celebration. Abby truly feels like part of our family now. Between the breathtaking views, the incredible staff, and the flawless execution, our wedding at Mountain View Ranch was more than we could have ever dreamed of. We wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a place that combines natural beauty with unmatched professionalism.

Mount Vernon Canyon Club truly is the perfect place to get married. I don’t think I have enough good things to say about them or the people who work there. Barbara is an absolute ray of sunshine. I would adopt her if I could. Seriously. She is just one of those people that instantly makes you feel taken care of. I think she told me she’s been doing weddings for 25 years and it shows. She knows her stuff. If you have an outside coordinator, listen to Barbara’s feedback and suggestions because she has seen everything and genuinely wants your day to be successful. Also, Angel is the bar manager from heaven. I have never had cocktails so delicious in my life. We had kiwi margaritas and a bourbon brown sugar/vanilla Manhattan, which sounds a little ridiculous when I type it out, but I would happily drink both every day for the rest of my life. We had a pretty specific vision and he absolutely nailed it. We are also a crowd that likes to drink and at no point did people have to wait forever for a beverage, which was honestly impressive. I know Will was one of our bartenders and there was another woman who was incredible that I cannot remember her name right now, but once I figure it out I’ll come back and update this review because she deserves a shoutout too! Also, thank you to Nicole, who helped me navigate some wedding-related hiccups after the fact that had absolutely nothing to do with Mount Vernon. She didn’t have to help and she did anyway. The views are spectacular, but honestly what stands out most is the people. There are a lot of beautiful wedding venues in Colorado. What makes Mount Vernon special is that the people genuinely care about your wedding and about you. We felt so loved and supported throughout this process and are so grateful we got to celebrate our day there.

We got married here a little under a year ago and absolutely loved it. Our non-negotiables while looking for a venue were no curfew for music/dancing, having our wedding party stay onsite with us and being able to choose our own vendors. This place hit the mark! You cannot beat the accommodations, it’s such a unique experience for friends and family and we had so much fun getting to stay a few days before our wedding. There are wildflowers all over the property which just adds to the natural bliss and beauty of your big day. The owner and her family are some of the sweetest, most genuine people and we have kept in touch since our big day. We can’t wait to show our kids one day and create even more memories.

Freight was the most perfect wedding venue for us. Mostly, I loved the western/ mountain/ country vibe to it, makes it very unique. It’s beautiful inside as well especially with the string lights. The staff was 10/10 amazing. I barely did a single thing on my wedding day, they had everything taken care of from set up to filling leftover food boxes for us. Loved the option to rent so many things through stellar and sage too. The indoor/ outdoor combo was absolutely perfect too. All of our friends/ fam are talking about how cool the venue was still. The cabins are an awesome bonus too to have friends/ fam right on site. Highly recommend!

We can’t wait to have our wedding reception at Hotel Alpenrock!! From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff — especially Fharron — went above and beyond to make us feel supported and confident in our decision to celebrate such an important day here. Their attention to detail, kindness, and genuine care made it clear we were in the best hands. They took the time to answer all our questions and walk us through the space. The planning process has been very smooth so far, and communication has been quick, clear, and easy. Whether it’s confirming the reception layout, discussing our room block, or checking in on small details, the Hotel Alpenrock team has made everything feel stress-free and exciting. It’s such a relief knowing we have a team behind us that truly cares about making our day perfect, and we are so excited for our guests to experience the level of service and care that we have during our wedding weekend in September. Before we found Hotel Alpenrock, we were feeling so defeated by the lack of options in Breckenridge for a wedding reception with over 150 guests. As soon as we found the hotel, it was a no-brainer. We are so grateful we found Hotel Alpenrock, and we can’t wait to celebrate there with all our family and friends!

The Breckenridge Boutique Hotel was the perfect choice for our wedding day! From the moment we started planning, their team responded quickly to our questions and kept us in the loop throughout the entire process. We kept our ceremony very simple with just 15 close friends and family. The common area on the 2nd floor was perfect for cocktail hour. Luckily it was a beautiful day, so we were able to be on the deck with mountain views! Our ceremony on the back steps was absolutely stunning with nature as our backdrop, and the hotel's intimate atmosphere made our guests feel so welcome. The staff created a cozy, welcoming environment that really captured what we wanted for our special day. We couldn't have asked for a better venue. Once our ceremony was over, we walked a couple steps up to the ski run to take pictures. It really couldn't have been any more convenient. I would recommend this boutique hotel for any couple looking for an intimate wedding. I wish I could live it all over again. One of the best days of my life! I am so grateful to the manager Jake, and all the staff that made our weekend perfect.

WOW. Cannot say enough about how special this venue is. The massive mountain vistas, wide open spaces, fresh air and coziness; this place has is magical. If you are looking for a venue to escape to the mountains and craft a purposeful weekend full of your favorite people in a rustic, outdoor paradise, you've found it. We got married in mid July on the ranch and had the full weekend to enjoy time with loved ones. From the very beginning, Allison was flexible and genuinely wanted to know how to help make our day a success. This is not your traditional cookie-cutter venue and is such an exceptional place to really make your wedding YOURS. All of the basics are there but none of the frilly bells and whistles we didn't need. The property is massive and so picturesque with sweeping plains and big mountains all around. The space is so accommodating for whatever you want to dream up for your special day and perhaps most unique of all, it can be rented for an entire weekend as a place to stay and celebrate with those you love so you don't need to try to squeeze everything into a single evening. We had a relaxed welcome event with a taco truck, beers and yard games on Friday night as an excuse to spend some extra time with out of town guests. As it cooled down, everyone gathered around the firepits trading stories. The night before really took pressure off of the wedding day and the meadow within the ranch was so perfect. There is even a saloon with a whole selection of games (ping-pong, cornhole, horseshoes) already there to enjoy. This also served as a fabulous indoor space for 15 minutes right after our ceremony on Saturday when we had a quick afternoon thunderstorm roll through. The barn was cozy and a perfect space for dancing during the reception. We danced until 2 am and although our vendors all trickled out when their roles were done, there was no cut-off time at the venue itself so we were able to dance all night long. This is incredibly unique. Very few venues allow this. We fell in love with the views first but truly could not have imagined a more fabulous, relaxed space for our celebration. Thank you Guyton Ranch! It will forever be a special place in our hearts.

We had an exceptional experience working with Vail Resorts for our couple's wedding at The 10th, and can confidently say that much of the event's success was due to the incredible team - especially Abigael, the event manager. From our first conversation, Abby was responsive, professional and incredibly accommodating. She consistently went above and beyond to make sure every detail was executed flawlessly and that our clients (and the entire vendor team!) were happy. Not to mention, the venue on top of the mountain is absolutely STUNNING. Our clients and their guests were blown away by both the views and hospitality. As a planner, it's a gift to collaborate with a venue team who truly understands what it takes to host an elevated, stress-free celebration. We can't wait to be back!

Piney River Ranch

Vail, CO
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Select services
  • Outdoor & indoor
  • Starts at $20,000

Piney River Ranch is open and accessible from June 21st through the last Saturday in September, and is one of Colorado’s prime wedding destinations. Beneath the Gore Range, one of Colorado’s most beautiful mountain vistas, we can accommodate up to 200 people in our wedding and event space. With two custom log pavilions, and a ceremony deck that boasts mountain views guaranteed to take your breath away, it’s no wonder couples from all over the country come here to say “I do.” The ranch is complete with six guest cabins, three glamping tents and an on-site restaurant and bar as the perfect place to entertain your guests.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Rustic yet refined style
  • Has a dance floor to dance the night away
  • Both indoor and outdoor options

Venue considerations

  • Best for events with big guest lists
  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • On-site parking not available
I wanted to pass on to others our experience using Piney River Ranch as the venue for the marriage of our daughter this past July. Monique and her staff at Piney River Ranch bent over backwards from beginning to the end to help us plan and execute this once-in-a-lifetime event for our daughter. They were always available to answer our questions and to adjust their services to meet our needs. In other words, they provided the kind of personalized customer service that seems to be getting harder and harder to find these days. The result was a virtually perfect wedding day (and rehearsal the prior morning) from beginning to end. Piney River Ranch is located about 12 miles north of Vail at the end of a Forest Service dirt road. While that doesn't sound very far, the road is rough. It takes about 40 minutes to drive that 12 miles from Vail. That results in some logistical challenges but it is well worth the effort and in fact enhances the feeling of arriving at someplace special. It's not until actually arriving at the ranch that the spectacular mountain backdrop rising up behind Piney Lake suddenly reveals itself, and when it does, it virtually overwhelms the senses. I'm not aware of any other venue that combines the kind of jaw-dropping scenery Piney River Ranch possesses with the convenience of having all the facilities needed for a wedding ceremony and reception. I would describe the ranch as having a sort of rustic elegance which exactly fits with the nature of its location. Our wedding was sized at approximately 150 people and the facility was able to comfortably accommodate that number. While it is theoretically possible for the ranch to accommodate up to 200 for weddings, I suspect things will start feeling crowded and the layout will get more challenging if the number gets too much above 150. The ranch has a number of cabins and glam tents along the lake that can be booked. It worked out well for us to utilize one of the cabins as a base for the groom’s party and one of the glam tents for the bride’s party. For smaller weddings, there are a couple of small rooms off of the main reception area that can be utilized for that purpose. Because of the logistical challenge the road to the ranch presents, I would recommend using vendors with previous experience there as they will understand what adjustments they need to make to their operations in order for everything to proceed smoothly. The ranch maintains a list of recommended vendors which proved helpful. In our case, we used Timberline tours for transporting wedding guests from Vail to Piney River Ranch and back. Piney River Ranch works with a local catering company, Cowboy Catering out of Gypsum and the food and service they provided were outstanding. We also utilized Event Rents out of Gypsum for glass water goblets and cloth napkins. In summary, I would highly recommend Piney River Ranch for a wedding. It will provide a unique once-in-a-lifetime type experience for all of your guests, not to mention the bride and groom. I can’t tell you how many people came up to us afterwards to tell us how much they enjoyed it and what an amazing experience it was for them. While the location does present some logistical challenges, Monique and her staff are there to guide you through every step of the process to give you the end result you are looking for.

About wedding venues in Alma, CO

What Makes Colorado's Wedding Venues Unique?

Colorado's wedding venues offer something truly special, blending architectural diversity with stunning natural scenery. You'll find sophisticated urban elegance at the Grand Hyatt Denver right alongside the rustic charm of Spruce Mountain Ranch. Every window at the Flagstaff House Restaurant frames breathtaking mountain vistas while Tapestry House By Wedgewood Weddings pairs Victorian beauty with meticulously maintained gardens. Mountain View Ranch takes indoor-outdoor flow to the next level with retractable walls that let you seamlessly connect with nature while keeping guests comfortable. When it comes to costs you'll be pleasantly surprised - Colorado venues typically run between $6,000 and $6,800, which falls on the lower end of what you'd pay nationally where prices range from $6,500 to $12,000.

How Much Does a Colorado Mountain Wedding Cost?

Planning a Colorado mountain wedding for 150 guests? You're looking at around $46,999 total. Here's how that breaks down across your key vendors: - Florists: 16% ($7,466) - Venues: 14% ($6,399) - Catering: 11% ($5,119) - Photography: 10% ($4,622) - Videography: 9% ($4,124) - Wedding Planning: 9% ($4,124) - Bar Services: 9% ($4,095) - Bands and DJs: 3% ($1,500) - Cake and Desserts: 2% ($801) - Hair and Makeup: 1% ($670)

When Should You Book Colorado Wedding Services?

Timing is everything when planning your Colorado wedding. Start with your venue 13 months out - that's 390 days before your big day. Your photographer and wedding planner should be next on the list about 10 months ahead. Most other vendors including your florist caterer and videographer need about 9 months' notice while hair and makeup artists typically want 8 months' heads up. Planning a fall wedding? Book even earlier since September sees the highest demand.

Which Colorado Mountain Regions Offer the Best Wedding Settings?

You'll find perfect settings year-round in Colorado's mountains. The Grange shows off spectacular fall colors with its aspen groves while Della Terra lets you host cozy outdoor ceremonies with snowy peaks as your backdrop. Spring brings wildflower meadows at Wild Basin Lodge and summer celebrations shine under Balistreri Vineyards' pergola-covered patio. September proves most popular combining perfect temperatures with reliable weather.

How Do Denver Wedding Venues Compare to Mountain Locations?

Whether you're drawn to city sophistication or mountain majesty Colorado's got you covered. Craftwood Peak puts you face-to-face with Pikes Peak while The Simon offers industrial-chic style with Denver skyline views. You can celebrate in the historic Kirk Of Highland or surrounded by Garden of the Gods' stunning red rocks. City venues like Rooftop1630 deliver urban views while mountain locations connect you directly with nature.

What Weather Contingencies Do Colorado Venues Provide?

Colorado venues know how to handle whatever weather comes your way. Mount Vernon Canyon Club keeps you connected to the views through its glass-enclosed reception space while Church Ranch Event Center offers multiple indoor ceremony spots with mountain vistas through massive windows. Want a winter ceremony? Ashley Ridge has heated outdoor pavilions and Meadow Creek Lodge keeps everyone comfortable with covered walkways between venues.

Where Can You Find All-Inclusive Colorado Wedding Packages?

Looking to simplify your planning? Wedgewood Weddings properties across Colorado including Tapestry House and Mountain View Ranch handle everything from catering to coordination. The Grand Hyatt Denver includes room blocks with their packages while Balistreri Vineyards wraps up wine service catering and coordination in one easy contract. These venues make planning easier with dedicated coordinators managing timelines and vendor teams.

How Do Colorado Wedding Budgets Scale with Guest Count?

Your Colorado wedding budget flexes with your guest list: - 50 guests: $20,802 - 100 guests: $34,304 - 150 guests: $46,999 - 200 guests: $58,346 - 250 guests: $69,693 - 300 guests: $81,041 This scaling helps you maintain the quality you want while adjusting for your perfect guest count.
