With 160 acres all to yourself, time slows, the noise fades, and your celebration feels private, intentional, and completely unrushed.

    My husband and I recently had our wedding at The Barn at Sunset Ranch, and like many couples have said, it's hard to put into words the experience we had and the beauty that this venue has to offer. We had an extremely positive experience working with Jim and Jayme. From the first call, to the tour, my countless emails with questions, and to our wedding, Jayme was always warm and very communicative. We loved that we had access to the venue ALL DAY, which was great for setting up and getting ready. We also liked the fact that they have an attached airbnb on the property. Some more bonuses that come with this venue is that you have the opportunity to truly create the day exactly how you want it, like picking your own vendors and bringing your vision to life with the decor. Additionally, it is so nice they have Mountain Sips to utilize for a bar and bartenders, all while selecting your own specialty cocktails and beverages to bring for guests. We loved crafting a menu that spoke to us and made our guests happy. We had the most special day at this spectacular venue. It'll be a day that we'll never forget and I truly don't think our guests will either! To sum it up - the venue, the landscape/views, and the owners.... 10/10! I cannot express how much I recommend this venue to anyone looking to have an event in Buena Vista.

You may use any caterer you wish and can choose any option you would like, from delivered pizza to a do-it-yourself potluck to a fully catered event. We require that the venue be returned to the condition in which it was found before your event. Please refer to the preferred vendors list in your Welcome Guide for catering options after booking.
We recommend a Day of Coordinator wedding service for your wedding day. If you are interested in this service, please reference the preferred vendors in your Welcome Guide that was provided after booking. A Day of Coordinator is not a wedding planner. The coordinator will be available to help things go smoothly throughout the day of the event.
We do not have lodging onsite other than the Farmhouse Suite. There are many options in and around Buena Vista and Salida, including airbnbs and hotels. The Farmhouse Suite is our optional, on-site lodging accommodation that is yours for the day and night of your wedding if you choose to book it for an additional fee. The suite is complete with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a cozy and bright living room with a smart TV, plus a kitchen.
Our reception barn has a capacity of 160 guests. If you're hosting a larger wedding, you can rent a tent or utilize our outdoor space for more tables! We have plenty of parking to accommodate, and we can recommend local transportation services if needed.
January, February, March, April, and December (Due to weather and challenges to access The Barn, we don't book weddings during these months.)
The Barn at Sunset Ranch does not provide or sell alcohol. You may bring your own beverages, but all alcohol must be served by our drink caterer, Mountain Sips, for an additional fee. Guests may not bring or consume their own alcohol, no one under 21 may be served, alcohol service is limited to six hours with a 30-minute soft close, and hosts assume all responsibility for any damages or injuries related to alcohol consumption.
