    Wonderful band

    Onyx Music was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the very first call, their communication was easy, efficient, and friendly - they made the whole process simple and honest. On the day of, their work was truly excellent. They were fantastic musicians who kept the dance floor packed all night with a great range of music that perfectly matched the vibe we were going for. They even learned a difficult special song from North Africa that was incredibly meaningful to us, and their singer Marie absolutely nailed the performance. The whole playlist was fun and engaging, with the right mix of songs that got people dancing and emotional at all the right moments. Onyx Music was the best wedding band we could have hoped for, and we're so grateful they were a part of our special day.

    THE BEST!!

    The Speakeasies absolutely blew our minds! Everything from start to finish was so simple and thorough and Josh and Marie from ONYX were so sweet and professional every step of the way. From the initial emails figuring out what the best options were for us- to talking us through all of the questions we had along the way and always being so quick to respond to all of our emails/texts- I’d absolutely recommend ONYX Artists for any event you need a live band for. We had them play for both a seated dinner portion and a dance set and they were both perfect. Classy and not too loud when we needed it mellow and so fun when everyone got on the dance floor. We got so many compliments and we’ve just been looking for any excuse to hire them again :)

Of course! If we know the song you're requesting we're happy to play it for you on the spot. If you know you want to hear a song that's not in our usual repertoire, just let us know ahead of time and we can learn and arrange a special version for you.

Our bands play in configuration ranging from solo to 12 pieces. We're happy to make some suggestions, but here are some things to consider to help you decide: - Do you want background music that's easy to have a conversation over, upbeat cocktail music, full-on dance set? - How much space will be available for the band? - How big is the room they'll be playing? - How many guests do you have?
Onyx Artist is an entertainment agency run by musicians, who met during our time attending Berklee College of Music. After playing in some of the biggest wedding bands in the Northeast, we felt there was a need for something different in the private event industry. We then formed Onyx Artists, led by the desire to bring genuine and authentic music to people's events, weddings, and everyday lives.
Both, separately, or together! We have many different options and are happy to figure out with you the best possible combo.
We work with several bands that aren't yet listed on our website - anything from DJs and Brass Bands to Indian Classical music and singers from all over the world. Tell us what you're looking for, chances are we have the right person for you in our very large musician community!

Yes we do! We've done destination weddings and events all over the US and around the Globe. ​
Yes! However, for very large events, or when a band needs to take a plane to get there, we may require some additional equipment. We can provide a stage plot/ input list, and help coordinate with local sound companies.
We've played every kind of space - from Manhattan apartment to huge outdoor festivals. To give you an idea, for a 5 piece band we normally ask for a flat surface 8'X12' in size, but can squeeze in even tighter if need be.
