We had a brunch wedding which poses a challenge for a photographer with harsh morning light, but Villa came prepared and used the soft reflections and cloudy skies to capture truly stunning images. Any time i look at our photos, i find myself involuntarily smiling. She captured the classic posed photos AND the precious in-between moments where people are being their most authentic selves (the face my dad makes when he's really intently listening, the hand gestures my mom uses when she's explaining something and can't find the right words, the face my mother in law makes when she's cracking herself up, the face my father in law makes right before the tears fall, and so so many more). We started off with an engagement shoot that really impressed upon us their desire to know us, our style, and what we envisioned for our big day. They were on top of their communication with us, where we felt like they were going out of their way to keep us updated and engaged. On the day of our wedding, they arrived promptly and did their own thing without disrupting us. Sometimes I even forgot that they were there! One of the things I really appreciated about Alie & Ritchie is that they did a fantastic job keeping to the schedule we had gone over with them. After the wedding, Alie & Ritchie surprised us with a sneak peek a few days later, and the photos were breathtaking. Once we received our gallery, we saw that they did a PHENOMENAL job bringing out the beautiful colors in all of our pictures. To this day, we look back at them and feel so grateful that our vision came to life. Alie & Ritchie truly went above and beyond for us. “We hired Steven and his team to do our wedding photos and videography. I really wanted a photographer that could capture the soul of the event, and Steven did exactly that. His photos are full of life, and I shared so many portraits with guests that actually got printed out or posted online. If you're looking for hundreds of photos of your wedding party that look exactly the same and for every planned second to be documented, Steven is not your person. If you're looking to hit the big moments but focus on capturing raw moments with timeless photos to get framed, I couldn't recommend them more. I never thought I would get a wedding video because it always seemed cheesy to me. But after watching examples of his work I fell absolutely in love with his videos. I've honestly had a hard time watching ours because it evokes so much emotion. Steven was collaborative and willing to go with the flow. We gave him the difficult task of being prepared for 3 different locations with totally differing lighting (indoor/outdoor plus shooting from high sun into the night). He puts an immense amount of care into his work and the photos are truly art that we will cherish forever. If there are specific things you want covered, be sure to share a list. When it comes to capturing the moments that can't be planned, he is on the case!”
