Lead Photographer

My love for photography first started in a high school darkroom, but it took several years and life experiences before I took this love to a professional level. After losing a parent a few years before my own wedding, my desire to capture special moments became not only a passion but a necessity. I discovered a newfound sense of presence and purpose, as well as a desire to bring back that childlike joy that so many of us lose in adulthood. As your photographer, you can count on an experience and photos filled with intention, joy, play, and warmth. I can't wait to photograph your story beautifully.

    Engagement photoshoot

    My fiancé and I are so happy we chose Kelly for our engagement session! From the very beginning, she made the entire process seamless by answering all of our questions, taking the time to understand our vision, and even helping us coordinate our outfits. Kelly is incredibly talented and has such a warm, calming presence that she made us feel completely comfortable in front of the camera.     Elopement

    I reached out to Kelly about 2 weeks before my event. My husband and I were eloping and wanted to capture our special day. Kelly was super responsive and asked questions I did not even think of, which made me even more confident in choosing her. We spent about 2 hours taking pictures throughout the Alexandria, VA area. She shared the preview within 2 days and I was already speechless on how they turned out. The full album was available 2 weeks after and my husband and I are truly in awe of her work. Not only did she capture what we were looking for, but she made us feel comfortable the entire time. I cannot thank her enough!

The short answer? As soon as possible! While I do accept bookings within short notice if available, I recommend booking early to ensure that your desired date is safely secured on my calendar. I recommend booking at least 2-6 months in advance for elopements or micro-weddings, and 6-12 months in advance for traditional weddings. When in doubt, just shoot me a message and I am happy to let you know my availability!
No, I prefer focusing on photography only, so you can get the best wedding pictures possible.
I firmly believe that no one is truly awkward in photos - you just haven't worked with the right photographer yet who helps you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. With that being said, I can absolutely help! My relaxed, documentary-style of photography will have you feeling like you're hanging out with a new friend rather than performing for a camera. I provide guidance, encouragement, and sneak peeks behind the camera throughout so that you can leave your session with confidence.
While I typically guarantee a minimum of 50 images per hour, I do not limit your final galleries to a certain number of images. This means that every image deemed to be high quality will be included within your final gallery, typically resulting in well over 50 images per hour of coverage. Keep in mind this estimate varies depending on your wedding package, number of guests, venue type, and other factors.
All of your images will be available for download via an online gallery delivered straight to your inbox. I guarantee the following delivery times: - Elopements + Micro-weddings: within 6 weeks - Weddings: within 10 weeks
I am based in Alexandria, Virginia and primarily service Northern Virginia and Washington D.C. I am happy to travel though and meet you wherever you are. Just note that I do require a travel fee for locations outside of a 30 mile radius of Alexandria, VA
My approach to photography is all about capturing natural, joyful moments as they unfold, so my primary aim is to ensure my clients feel relaxed, comfortable, and confident in front of the camera - almost like it's not even there! You can expect lots of fun prompting, a posed moment here and there (you know grandma wants to see it), and a bunch of laughs.
