Lucky Arrow met both qualities we were looking for in our wedding venue: 1) a rustic outdoor venue in the TX hill country, and 2) a venue that could host our guests on-site. Paired with their recommended vendors, the team put together a magical night for us and our guests! They have so many different spaces for each part of the event (ceremony overlook, tree grove, event center, rooftop, and beer garden), so the day never felt stale. There is also a variety of lodging options for our guests, and the venue felt like a party all weekend.

If I could give 10 stars, I would to this venue. Michael and Pam are wonderful, kind people. I was planning my wedding from out of state and Chef Pam met with my mom and spoke to me frequently to help us with any decisions. I was able to pick out all the linens, china, food, areas, and decor with Chef Pam. She helped me find other vendors that were familiar with her setup. The venue itself was beautiful! It is sweet southern charm at its best. There is a grooms cottage, a bridal suite, and a honeymoon cottage and other cottage. Everything has so much care put into it. The day of, it rained but they already had the plan in place and let me be in the driver's seat (with invaluable input from Chef Pam). The ceremony was easily moved inside by her team and was gorgeous. Her food is EXCEPTIONAL! With Chef Pam, I did not need a full wedding coordinator - she handled so much for us. I hired a day of just for my behind the scenes stuff, but Chef Pam ran the whole thing from my perspective and made my day about my husband, me and the wedding. I could not have imagined it being any better. I also could go on for another 5 pages.

Absolutely stunning and so easy to work with. The venue itself truly doesn’t need much décor—the chandeliers and overall style speak for themselves. The chapel is just as beautiful, and the on-site lodging was a huge plus. We worked with both Megan and Libby throughout the process, and Megan was our venue coordinator on wedding day. She went above and beyond and was incredibly hands-on. I would 1000% recommend them and hiring their in house coordinator to run your wedding day. (we hired externally and wish I just hired them)

Inspiring Oaks was everything we were hoping it would be and more. Easily the most beautiful and scenic venue we saw in all of our searching. The property is huge - the main house, ceremony site, reception area, and everything in-between made for so many amazing pictures and memories. Being able to stay at the venue for the weekend was great in so many ways - it was so nice not having to worry about forgetting anything on the big day, it was great having a big space to hang out with close friends and family all weekend, and it was so packed with fun amenities that there was never a dull moment during our stay. Even with all of the features we loved about the property, one of the highlights of picking this venue was having Greg as our venue host. In every interaction with him he would go above and beyond to make sure that we had all of our questions answered, had all the tours we needed to feel comfortable about the big day, and put in the extra effort on our wedding weekend to make sure we (and our guests) could focus more on enjoying the weekend rather than venue logistics. He was a big part in making the experience as memorable as it was. I highly recommend this venue to anyone who enjoys hill-country backdrops, the background of every photo will look so amazing. I also recommend it if you're looking to make the most out of your wedding - instead of the normal experience of renting a venue for half a day, this will let you stretch out your wedding experience to a whole weekend with your closest friends and family.

My husband and I had the best experience getting married at Prairie Chapel Place. We hosted our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception on site, and every part of the weekend went seamlessly thanks to the owners’ help throughout the planning process and the on-site venue coordinator. Communication was great over the many months leading up to our wedding. The bridal party stayed overnight at the cottage and got ready there the next morning. From the moment we started planning our wedding, The Reserve on Cypress Creek was great to work with. Their communication was always detailed and responsive, and they made it easy to schedule tours and get our questions answered. The natural beauty of their venue was simply stunning - the lush greenery and serene creek provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, even finding a small round table for our wedding cake and providing the option to cool our reception tent with A/C as a last minute addition. We also loved the custom photobooth logo they created with our names. The Reserve's "dream team" vendor package for DJ, bartender, and security was a huge help, and we were very happy with the bartender and security services we used. I can’t vouch for the DJ as we just had a family friend manage a playlist and speaker/mic (sound level meter in the tent was great!!). Overall, The Reserve on Cypress Creek exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend them to any couple planning their wedding. Guests are raving about how beautiful the venue was.

The venue is beautiful and has so much to offer. The owners are so very accommodating and genuinely want to make the event the best possible experience for all. I have not toured another venue that I feel will truly make the bride and groom's vision come true. Everything we could possibly want is found here and they will help us make it happen. Our schedule has been overwhelming and they allowed us to meet at a very unconventional time. Then they enthusiastically gave my daughter and her fiancé a tour. I am amazed at how much help we are receiving. I feel like we have personal guides who are almost as excited as we are! The closet full of decorations and supplies MAGICAL! The location is simply beautiful. As the mother of the bride, my stress level decreased tremendously after hearing their constant "YES we can do that" for all of our wishes! Update: now that we are on the other side of the wedding; as the date finally occurred, I need to share how thrilled we are with our decision to use this venue. My daughter’s outdoor dreams came true at the Retreat at Sugarhill. The venue was perfect. We had 100 guests. We had a backup plan for rain …that I trust would have been implemented with perfection and skill. The owners are prompt and thorough communicators. Love them!

Wow just wow. I wish this place was around when I got married! Still Waters is one of THE most special places I've ever known. The location is perfectly accessible to town with a nice peaceful drive, but definitely far enough away to really feel like you're getting away. The animal sounds (and sightings!), the birds, alllllllll the gazillion trees.... so SO beautiful! And honestly, I love that it's "country" but the homes/cabins are not roughin' it at all haha I won't lie. The granite countertops, walk-in showers, creative decorations and home designs - seriously it should be in a magazine. HIGHLY recommend for a getaway with your love or rent out the ENTIRE property for your favorite group of people I've done both and it's been fantastic every single time. The pond is my favorite and that gazebo on it makes for the perfect place to exchange vows. GRAB IT IF THEY ACTUALLY HAVE AN OPENING!

San Marcos, TX
  • Up to 300 guests

  • Starts at $3,095

Texas Rock House is a labor of love. My grandparents built the house and barns in the 1940's as a working farm for their family. My mother was the youngest of seven children that grew up here. I grew up almost across the street with my mom (Joyce), daddy (Buddy), and brother (Larry). Larry and I spent almost every Friday night here - listening to his records on Grandma's old record player or sitting on the back porch swing counting the number of cars on the trains as they passed by. Whether you are looking for a memorable barn wedding venue for your special day, a unique event space for your corporate meeting, or a beautiful place to celebrate one of life's special moments, the Texas Rock House is the place to be! I (and my family) have had many wonderful memories in this place - and hope you do too!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Lush gardens
  • Wheelchair accessible
  • Has a dance floor for celebration

Venue considerations

  • No all-inclusive dining options
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
The team at Texas Rock House was open, understanding and a bit busy, but they made our special day truly wonderful. The venue was very beautiful and affordable, which was important to us as a young couple. The owner, Erin, did her best to help as much as she could to make the days leading up to and the day of our wedding as easy as possible. She was very personable and good at collaborating with us. When it started raining on the day of our wedding, Erin was very quick to come up with a solution and it ended up being an awesome celebration despite the weather. We are so grateful for the Texas Rock House team and would highly recommend them to any couple looking for a gorgeous and budget-friendly wedding venue.

About wedding venues in Texas

Why Is Texas an Exceptional Wedding Destination?

Texas offers an incredible variety of wedding settings across its diverse landscapes. You'll find everything from romantic Hill Country vineyards to stunning Gulf Coast waterfronts that provide perfect backdrops for your special day. The state is home to countless venues that showcase authentic Texas character while still matching your personal style. Think rustic barns where longhorn cattle graze nearby or sophisticated urban venues with dramatic city skyline views that'll impress your guests. Many Texas venues incorporate unique regional touches you won't find elsewhere; live country music that gets everyone dancing, mouthwatering BBQ stations and custom boot favors that celebrate local heritage. Whether you're planning an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, you'll find Texas venues ready to accommodate your vision.

What's the Average Cost of Wedding Venues in Texas?

Wedding venues in Texas typically cost between $3,000 and $30,000+ depending on what you're looking for. The national average runs about $6,500-$12,000 which represents roughly 25% of your total wedding budget. Your overall wedding costs will depend largely on how many people you're inviting to share your special day:

Guest CountAverage Total Wedding Budget
50 guests$19,410
100 guests$32,365
150 guests$44,545
200 guests$55,433
250 guests$66,322
300 guests$77,211
In Texas specifically, venues typically account for about 16% of your total wedding budget with couples spending an average of $6,932. This gives you plenty of room in your budget to customize other elements of your celebration that matter most to you and your partner.

Which Wedding Venue Types Are Most Popular in Texas?

Texas venues offer distinctly regional experiences that capture the state's diverse character. Hill Country locations around Fredericksburg give you gorgeous vineyard settings with beautiful limestone architecture and sunset views that will take your breath away. If you're considering Houston, you'll find venues that thoughtfully incorporate bayou landscapes alongside sophisticated cosmopolitan amenities. Dallas spaces tend to showcase luxury urban environments with elegant design elements that create a refined atmosphere. Fort Worth venues perfectly blend Western heritage with modern conveniences for a uniquely Texan experience. November emerges as the most popular month for venue inquiries across the state, so you might want to plan accordingly if you're interested in this popular time frame.

How Far in Advance Should You Book Your Texas Venue?

Texas couples typically book their wedding venues about 16 months (or 457 days) before their wedding date. November stands out as the most popular month for venue inquiries so planning early is essential if you're considering this timeframe. This advanced booking timeline helps you secure your preferred date since popular venues often fill their calendars far in advance especially for prime weekend dates. Booking early also allows you to lock in current pricing before annual increases that many venues implement. Plus you'll have more time to work with venue coordinators to customize floor plans and discuss details that will make your celebration uniquely yours.

Where Can You Find Accessible Wedding Venues in Texas?

Madera Estates in Conroe stands out for its commitment to accessibility with fully paved event spaces that accommodate wheelchair navigation throughout the property. You can host up to 330 guests here and the venue is frequently praised for physically walking through accessibility needs during the planning process. You'll also find excellent accessible options at Jennings Trace near Houston which offers single-level celebration spaces. Hummingbird Hill Weddings in Chappell Hill prioritizes inclusive design throughout their venue and The Preserve at Canyon Lake features wheelchair-friendly pathways connecting all major celebration areas. These venues ensure all your guests can fully participate in your special day regardless of mobility considerations.

Which Texas Wedding Venues Offer Outstanding Culinary Experiences?

The Bell Tower on 34th in Houston delivers exceptional dining experiences under Executive Chef Sergio Arellano. His international culinary team creates gourmet meals on-site that will impress even your most food-savvy guests. Food-focused couples should also consider Steiner Ranch Steakhouse in Austin where you'll enjoy spectacular views alongside premium cuts of Texas beef. Cisco's Salsa Company near Tomball has built a reputation for their award-winning Mexican cuisine that adds authentic flavors to your celebration. Avenida Brazil Churrascaria Steakhouse in the Houston area offers a unique Brazilian steakhouse experience with tableside carving and a festival atmosphere your guests will remember long after the wedding day.

How Can Texas Venues Support Remote Wedding Participation?

For couples wanting to include loved ones who can't attend in person, several Texas venues now offer more than just basic streaming services. Venues like Agave Estates Mara Villa and The Middleton Venue in Katy specialize in creating interactive remote experiences that make distant guests feel truly present. You can work with these venues to design custom interactive elements that go beyond passive viewing. Think virtual guest books where remote attendees can leave video messages remote toasts synchronized with in-person celebrations and even coordinated dance moments. These thoughtful touches ensure everyone feels included in your celebration regardless of where they're located.

What Wedding Expenses Should You Budget for in Texas?

Beyond your venue there are several other key expenses to consider when planning a Texas wedding. For a typical 150-guest celebration your budget will likely break down this way: - Florists: $6,755 (15%) - Venue: $6,932 (16%) - Catering: $5,546 (12%) - Bar services: $4,437 (10%) - Photographers: $3,966 (9%) - Videographers: $3,555 (8%) - Planners: $3,768 (8%) - Bands & DJs: $1,299 (3%) - Cakes & desserts: $853 (2%) - Hair & makeup: $495 (1%)
