About this venue
The Retreat at Hempstead is nestled on five acres. The property includes a beautiful newly renovated 4900 sq. ft. country home - THE RETREAT HOUSE and a 1600 sq. ft. event venue - THE BARN at THE RETREAT. The Retreat House has 6 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and kids/teen sleeping and lounge room. Accommodates 23 people (up to 28). Large game room with air hockey, shuffleboard, poker table and bar, living room area, dining table seats 14, breakfast room seats 6, and kitchen bar seating. The multi-purpose room with mounted flat screen television is ideal for meetings and presentations, wellness and yoga, arts and crafts.

Picture Perfect
The Retreat at Hempstead was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the moment we first reached out, the staff was always punctual in their communication, quickly responding to any questions or requests we had. When we toured the property, we were blown away by how it felt like a cozy home, yet had all the amenities of a high-end hotel. The multiple ceremony sites gave us the flexibility to easily adjust our plans when the weather didn't cooperate, and the staff made sure everything ran smoothly no matter what. The barn provided a beautiful backdrop, but the space is versatile enough that we were able to create the elegant, non-rustic aesthetic we wanted. We are so grateful to the team at The Retreat at Hempstead for helping make our backyard wedding dreams come true and ensuring our special day was perfect in every way.

I have nothing but great things to share about the location and the owners. From the moment we first came out, the vision of my wedding came together. I could see the beautiful pictures with the lake in the background and my veil floating in the wind. I could see the table formations, and they even provided me with decorations that I used, and of course, ended up donating some of my own. I got married in January, and the week before my wedding, there was a massive ice storm my maid of honor and I decided it would be better to be close to the area in case the road got bad, so we texted Ms. Jenn and asked if we could stay an extra day or at least store things in the house so we didnt stress so much, she was so quick to answer and confirmed that we could stay an extra night. Next morning rolled around (rehearsal dinner/ set up day) and we rolled out of bed and got straight to work. hours behind us our husbands arrive,d and we were already knee deep in the decorations, and they were able to jump in and help because the plan was already in motion (which for anyone who has planned their own wedding, you would know how important that can be) everything set up and ready for the big day in the barn we walked across the drive way to the house where the rest of the wedding party was already making dinner and drinks for us to enjoy. it was a great evening followed by the best wedding day and weather a girl and her husband could have asked for!

I spent lots of time looking through venues to find exactly what we were looking for and The Retreat at Hempstead was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the very first interaction, the owners were incredibly friendly and responsive, providing us with helpful recommendations for other vendors who have worked at their property and a lovely house to stay in for the weekend. On the day of our wedding, the space gave us the family-style celebration we were envisioning - it was sweet, comforting, and truly the most amazing, perfect day we could have hoped for. The Retreat at Hempstead went above and beyond to make our special day unforgettable.

When my husband and I first started searching for a wedding venue, we knew we didn’t want something that was just for the day or night. We wanted a place where we and our closest guests could stay overnight and enjoy a fabulous breakfast together the next morning. Thankfully, we found this perfect venue. Tracy and Jennifer were incredibly easy to work with throughout the entire process. Jennifer, in particular, was so kind and accommodating, allowing me to visit the venue while it was unoccupied to do mock setups before the big day. This level of flexibility and support meant the world to us. I am forever grateful that we came across this venue. It provided the perfect setting for our special day and the warmest hospitality.
