The package we chose included an engagement shoot, which was wonderful because we got to meet her ahead of time and make sure that we meshed well together, which of course we did because she’s just so wonderful, and those pictures blew us away already. “I highly recommend Sound Originals for wedding photography based on the communication, organization, value, and most importantly, the final product. Gabriella was always very responsive and clear in the messages sent via the online portal when we had questions. I was a bit hesitant to book this vendor because I didn’t know anyone who’d used the company before, but I’m glad I did. We were lucky to get paired with Jared as our photographer and immediately felt comfortable with him on our virtual planning call. On the day of our wedding he was prompt and had plenty of ideas ready to go, but he was also very open to any ideas we had. He never made us feel rushed at all as you could tell he wanted to take his time to get the shots right. He was patient when necessary, efficient when necessary and always reminded us to let him know if any poses didn’t feel comfortable or natural. We didn’t have a second shooter but you wouldn’t be able to tell by looking at our photos as Jared managed to get great variety in the angles during the ceremony and reception. The photos are beautiful and we are looking forward to framing a few. We got the sneak peak within 2 weeks and the full photo gallery not too long after that. The only critique I have is that the florist we used was incorrectly tagged on the sneak peak instagram post, and wasn’t corrected even though I reached out via direct message and comment. The flowers were beautiful & the correct florist deserved the credit. Overall, I would definitely work with Sound Originals and Jared in particular again in the future.”

Here's an unexpected fact - I hated weddings when I first started second shooting them. It broke my heart to see couples being rushed, overwhelmed, and not truly having any connection to couples. That's what drove my passion to breath a fresh air into the wedding experience! Plan with intention, focus on being present, and building genuine relationships with couples! “Read for my true heartfelt experience with Angelica at Dawnpoint, but in short - hire her. This should be the easiest decision you make in your wedding planning journey. I came across Dawnpoint after she documented the wedding of someone I know. Those pictures felt so authentic and real. They took me right to the event and made me feel so much. I knew I needed to meet her. From my initial zoom meeting with Angelica, we hit it off. I said I wanted to get the best views in our pictures. She was on board right away. For our engagement pictures, she took us on a hike. Chris and I showed up in hiking gear with our formal wear in our packs. So did Angelica. This may seem so minuscule but for two people who had never been photographed and just wanted someone to make them feel comfortable and to capture something real, this made us trust her from the get go. Needless to say, those pictures were amazing. We even used them for our save the dates! Fast forward to our wedding day in Lake Placid on June 15, 2024. My goals were ambitious but Angelica was on board every step of the way. From creating the timeline to executing the plan the day of, it was the least stressful part of our day. What I loved most was that she listened to my vision and incorporated it in everything she did that day. I even forgot that I wanted a specific picture of my dress, but she definitely did not. When I was getting ready, she had my bridal party share personal stories of us and it was so sweet, I felt so connected to the people closest to me that day and it helped me stay grounded and present from the beginning. For our first look, we wanted to meet at the top of Whiteface Mountain. This was 40 minutes away from our venue and logistically a lot of things could go wrong. Yet, Angelica was a smiling face reassuring me that we could do it. Everything from asking for us to skip the elevator line, to clearing the space on Whiteface for Chris and I to get our moment. I was and remain truly speechless of how she actually made this happen. The pictures speak for themselves. After, we returned to our venue and without delay resumed with a first look with my dad (which I added last minute and was meeted with so much excitement from Angelica). One of my favorite parts was golden hour pictures. I take zero credit here. This was Angelica’s idea and I am so thankful. It was a truly beautiful and authentic experience to photograph the newly wed joy I felt. This is just one of so many ways in which Angelica showed that she was as present and invested in our day as we were. After receiving my sneak preview pictures, I was honestly met with so much emotion. I was brought right back to each moment and exactly how I was feeling. I am truly blown away because if anyone can get a picture to tell a thousand words, it is Angelica. She perfectly captured our day and was the single most best decision I made that day. Unsolicited feedback from my guests: “Your photographer smiled the entire night! She looked like she was having so much fun!” This was feedback I got multiple times and it goes to show much Angelica loves her job! P.S. Jake, her second shooter, was also an absolute pleasure. Together, their energy was infectious.”

I loved the bright, dreamy, whimsical, storybook vibes her shots give. The more I looked over her past work, the more I fell in love with her craft. Meeting Miranda via Zoom was such a delight. She is seriously an amazing person—kind, funny, bubbly, and light-hearted. I explained that we were having a smallish wedding and were willing to forgo some shots if we could keep to a certain budget. Wow, she was willing to work with me and my husband! Other photographers in the tri-state area were at least 5-10k over. As the wedding day drew nearer, Miranda kept us updated with a list of hyperlinks and ideas for different shots. She helped us organize a timeline that made everything flow seamlessly. Despite her laid-back and easy-breezy nature, she is actually SUPER organized, and how there were directions or video tutorials linked to everything displays her thoughtfulness and professional manner. The teacher in me was geeking out and loving this! Miranda also took the time to get to know and understand our family dynamics and VIP wedding shot wishlists. This care and conversation made the wedding day shots run so much more smoothly. Several of my bridesmaids pointed out that their wedding photographers did not do this and it was much more chaotic on their wedding days! What was SO special about Miranda is working with her! She was amazing with all the little kiddos in our bridal party and my dog. She really is a natural with people and has an eye for candid shots that make me tear up when going back to look at them. Then, when it came to our couple shots, I was blown away. My husband and I are not young/20-something newlyweds, but the photos Miranda took made me look and feel like a princess. We both feel awkward taking photos, but my goodness, Miranda gives posing direction that feels natural and effortless, executing the most charming and romantic shots that made us look like a million bucks. Her editing style is true-to-color, capturing the real beauty and emotion of our day without over-processing. Her gifts for organization, creative talent for getting those special shots, natural and easy way of clicking with people, and those gorgeous storybook photos make her a photographer I will recommend over and over again. “This review is a mix of both happy and a little disheartened. Our Photographer had such an amazing personality. He kept us on our toes. He kept us laughing, leading up to the big moment however, looking back on photos that were being taken in the bridal suite I feel like there’s a lot of mess in the background of them which I don’t blame the Photographer at all that is our fault and those photos did come out beautiful. Our reception photos came out beautiful, but what leaves us this heart in a little bit is our bridal party photos and alter photos. We were hoping to have close pictures of the altar and we didn’t. They’re just kind of dark looking. Which again I understand lighting in a venue I was just hoping for more of an edit, but the biggest one are the Bridal party photos. A lot of our girls look white washed, as if there was little no editing done to it. There was trash or mess in the background that as a photographer I would hope it would’ve been picked up on so we could’ve moved stuff out of the way. I received one photo back with our entire bridal party, which I was excited for to find out half of their faces are blurry and some people were cut out so I can’t share that photo. The rest of the pictures have shadows in them exit signs that could’ve been cropped out not centered properly. I know the day is a lot because there’s things I forgot for example, we never got a full family photo. My husband doesn’t have any with his siblings and parents same with me and my siblings and parents and with our siblings and parents altogether with us on both sides, which should’ve been something I thought of myself, but I know it was talked about prior. I loved our reception photos. I do wish there was a little more of our parents and us but the reception photos came out beautiful and amazing. I’m just a little disheartened with the private bridal party photos. However it’s an easy fix because my maid of honor is a Photographer and my bridal party is gonna. Dress back up and do their hair and make up the way it was that day and we’re gonna redo our photos. Overall though David was amazing to work with the communication was perfect. The payment plan was amazing. I remember one time having to pay him a little late and there was no issue at all. He actually gave me extra time and told me to wait until after the holidays. And I will forever be appreciative for that I would still hire David for other events. Attached are photos we did like and some that we didn’t - the one with our bridal party missing included”
