I am a photo-documentary wedding photographer, specializing in capturing all the authentic and unscripted moments of your wedding day. With over 10 years of experience, I've proudly photographed hundreds (and hundreds) of weddings in NJ, NYC and destinations worldwide. Though my photography work has been published in magazines, and I've garnered my fair share of awards over the years, my proudest achievement till this day was when my youngest son finally learned how to ride a two-wheeler. I mean, c'mon: that's pretty awesome, right?

    Ben is the greatest. Not only is he the best photographer, he’s an absolute gentleman and one of the funniest people I have ever met. His humor gets you to relax and that’s when he goes to work. If you’re not used to posing for pictures, no worries - Ben knows what he’s doing. If you let him do what he does best, his creativity and artistic eye will capture moments that you’ll look back on and be transported right back to. He also works with his wife Karis, who is amazing and they compete to see who gets the picture of the day. I recommend him to everyone I know. If you need someone to, not only capture moments, but to make you feel confidently yourself in the photos - Ben Lau is your man.

    Ben Lau and his assistant photographers were amazing and did an amazing job capturing our wedding. I worried that our wedding was not the “traditional” beautiful venue of a mansion or an outdoor space with a view. But Ben made our modest Chinese restaurant look like a million bucks with his photos. We also took advantage of being close to prospect park to take photos before the wedding. Having Ben available for 10 hours on our wedding day and 2 hours complimentary engagement shoot to get to know each other was really generous and a good deal. The fact that he also understood and had previously captured our venue before and his years of experience was also really great and put us at ease. A true professional and a relaxing person to have around!! And the photos were gorgeous - worthy of Vogue, the New York Times and any photoshoot I have ever seen!!

    There is no secret that we wanted to work with you since you photographed a wedding that i was in. Your patience and ability to remain calm in all the frantic moments showed me that you would be perfect for my wedding one day. On top of that, your passion for photography and knowledge of the craft as well as the beautiful photos you create made it an easy decision. So when that time came, we knew right away that our first call was to you. For our engagement shoot we talked about going on boardwalk rides to get really amazing shots and despite your insane fear of heights you responded DONE !! No questions asked, no matter how nauseous it made you. Their aren’t enough words to express our thanks and gratitude for all the CRAZY things you have done while working with us, including our 13.5 hour photo shoot / adventure/ road trip through sand dunes, Red Rock Canyon, alien brothels, a dry lake bed, a ghost town with jumping cacti, and finding Area 51. You two are the epitome of what it means to be truly genuine human beings. It is the reason that we loved having you shoot our wedding and even more so to share some unbelievable adventures with you. Thank you again for everything. We cant say enough about how beautiful our pictures are and how every experience we have had shooting with you has been perfect.

    I absolutely love Ben as a person and as a professional! He is extremely talented and his work is gorgeous but he is also so fun to be around! I believe that it’s really important to feel comfortable with the people you hire for your big day and Ben will fit right in! He will be a positive force on your wedding day!
