Based in New Jersey and serving the East Coast, I specialize in working with couples who want genuine moments documented with care, intention, and authenticity.

Many of the couples I work with describe themselves as camera-shy. Rather than turning your wedding into a photoshoot, I focus on documenting real moments as they happen, stepping in with guidance only when needed. The result is imagery that feels natural, personal, and true to your relationship.

Absolutely no regrets
Richard J Nieves Photography was absolutely wonderful to work with for our wedding day. From the first time we spoke, Richard had a great sense of humor that immediately put us at ease. His communication style was fantastic - he really took the time to understand our preferences and vision, and brought an experienced second photographer who helped capture every moment we wanted memorialized. The quality of their work was breathtaking, and they were true partners in making our special day perfect. We highly recommend Richard J Nieves Photography to any couple looking for an experienced, talented, and personable photography team. Truly the best!

AMAZING!!!
Richard J Nieves Photography was an exceptional choice for our wedding photographer. From the start, Richard's communication style was transparent and highly effective. He spoke with us prior to the big day, asked which specific shots were most important to us, and then delivered on them all with excellence. Richard was also incredibly flexible with our timeline and brought a tremendous amount of creativity to capture all the special moments of our wedding day. Typically we feel shy in front of a camera, but Rich easily blended in and become part of the day. In looking through the highlight video and photos that Rich sent us, we could see that he really captured every special moment both between us as a couple and with all of our guests. In fact, my sister was so impressed with Richard's work that she also hired him for her own upcoming wedding. We could not be happier with the quality of the photos Richard delivered - they are a perfect memento of our special day.

A great team to have on your side!!
We really could not be happier with Rich and his second shooter for our big day! He was professional and fun, and already delivered a ton of preview photos even though our wedding was a few days ago. We're so excited to see the film photos as well. He was willing to go along with some of our more time-consuming schemes (first look on top of a ski hill) and still managed to keep us on track. It was great not having to worry about anything the day of, because we knew he was on top of everything!
