Over the course of the 9 months leading up to the wedding I probably had 4 or 5 calls with Thaddeus to give him the general vibe we were looking for & work out details. He was professional, honest, and gave great feedback. We had many specific asks and Thaddeus made sure all of our wants fit into his plan. Once the party was going, we gave Thaddeus the creative freedom to do his thing & make sure our guests had a good time. He totally delivered. I absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ that can keep the party going! Mackenzie was great to work with as well. Empire State Events got more backdrops to choose from in the middle of our planning, so she gave me the option to switch! I’m glad we did, the eucalyptus backdrop fit perfectly with our vision. “Having Cascade Live Events as our DJ vendor was easy, affordable, fun, affirming, and common-sense. We booked Mike Steltz, Co-Founder, as our DJ. Where to start! First off, Mike was SO affordable for what we were looking for; we built a custom package based on our specific needs, and he was flexible priced it reasonably. Second, Mike was flexible and chill about changes along the way; we postponed a year due to COVID concerns, and after a quick chat he promptly sent us a subcontract confirming the new dates. No hassle at all! And day-of he was laid-back and professional when inclement weather forced us to relocate the dance floor. We also want to note that as an LGBT couple Cascade Live Events felt LGBT friendly affirming. We were transparent about ourselves from the first conversation, and explained we also had a lot of LGBT community coming; Mike used our pronouns, was comfortable enjoyed playing the queer music we asked for, and worked hard to make us our guests feel comfortable and affirmed the day of. Mike is NOT your corny old man DJ playing at a long island wedding (lol): he is young, super chill, and easy to work with. Fourth, Mike did a good job staying in touch with the audience on the dance floor. He played the tunes we asked for, but he didn't act as a living spotify playlist; he remixed some FIRE tunes, and pulled from similar genrestime periods to keep the energy up on the dance floor. He was in tune with the vibe of the party! At our request he had obscure gay club songs AND interspersed more familiar tunes. As a testiment to Mike's skills the dance floor was open for 3 hours and even though we had a small guest count we had 9 people dancing till the very end. Cannot recommend this vendor highly enough! (Side note: it was important to us that all our vendors had dinner, breaks, and a fun time too. Cascade Live Events did have dinner written in their contract, but not everyone did. Vendors are also human beings, and they were integral parts of our wedding! We encourage all wedding couples, regardless of who they book [tho u SHOULD book Cascade Live Events lol], to also be considerate and chill with their vendors. It makes a huge difference & reduces stress for everyone the day of. :))”

He was able to not only have the music playing through the two large speakers we had planned for outside, but also got it seemlessly hooked up to the speakers throughout the interior space. This was key, because we had to last minute move the whole wedding inside due to rain. It was priceless to see see Lucas problem solving all of that with plenty of time to spare because I had so many other things to worry about with the shifting rain plans. I knew I didn’t have to worry about that whole part of it though, and the quality of the sound throughout the day really smoothed over all of the last minute adjustments and helped make everything feel like it was all part of the plan. It was a perfect day beyond my wildest expectations, and Lucas Walters was a huge part of that.”

“Brian is one of the best wedding DJs in the business. In the past two years I’ve been to eight different weddings. Brian was the DJ for three of the eight, and the party/reception component of the events was never more fun than when Brian was driving the bus. He is an east coast DJ, but he spun tracks at both of my sister-in-laws’ weddings and as we were searching for a DJ for our own wedding we reached out just to see what he would charge for a wedding in Chicago. Turns out the price was right. Brian traveled to Chicago, MC’d our entire wedding, brought all of the equipment necessary and made our day exceptional in every way. I think there are a few things that really set Brian apart from other wedding DJs. Anyone can stand there and run through a playlist, but Brian went off book a few times to match and capture the energy of the guests. As we were in the midst of the planning process he added zero stress, and just calmly walked us through the process of selecting songs. He had suggestions and recommendations along the way. He even brought an extra speaker so that we could plug our digital piano in and the pianist would be able to play loudly enough. Overall, we can’t recommend Brian highly enough. You will not regret choosing him to DJ at your wedding, party, event. Whatever it is, Brian is a huge value add and a pleasure to work with.”

“We had Emmet and Naomi for our indoor December wedding, the venue was a log cabin style lodge. They were a perfect match and we were so glad we chose them. They learned one of our favorite songs for the opening to our ceremony, playing a beautiful instrumental version of it. Our guests loved the music, that it was accessible for everyone, young and old alike. We had toddlers dancing in front of the band, but the guests seated closest to the band during dinner could still carry on a conversation easily. A lot of people really appreciated this, that they could add ambiance and energy without overpowering you. We especially want to thank them for traveling through the blizzard conditions to be there that weekend. We were hoping for a snowy winter wedding, and we got all the snow we could handle that weekend! The Poor Cousins really helped everything come together for us, and we would absolutely recommend them to anybody!”

“The first time I met Tony I knew he was going to be our DJ. He was so easy to talk to, and aside from that out of all the DJs we met with he was the only one that asked us what we wanted and what kind of music we had in mind. Hiring Tony was by far THE BEST decision we have ever made. Our dance floor was packed all night, and even the event staff were dancing throughout the night because he was that good. Everyone I talk to raves about how much fun they had and how awesome he was. Not only will he make sure the music is great and your dance floor is on fire, but he actually cares about what you and your significant other want. The week before our wedding so many vendors were reaching out to us about all the things that needed to be finalized; but when we met with Tony that Tuesday before our wedding he was such a breath of fresh air. After that meeting my finance and I were like okay we are ready, and we know we are going to have fun. Not only is Tony himself an amazing DJ and person but so are the other members of his team. One of his associates was the DJ for our afterparty and he was equally as amazing. We can honestly say that we had SO MUCH FUN at our wedding and a large part of that was due to Tony and his team. “The Barnstorm isn't a "wedding" band. They're a band. A really great band. And that makes them the best wedding band, in our opinion. We went to one of their live shows before booking them to play at our wedding and we knew immediately they were perfect. The band is 7 guys who you would want to be friends with -- which makes them blend in seamlessly at a wedding. Their range of songs is awesome. Everyone raved about their playlist, including a few of our guests who are huge music snobs. They also did an awesome job of getting everyone involved. People were dancing, singing along, even getting a second or two on the mic. It was like having a private live show at our wedding, which we loved and all of our guests loved. The vibe is much better than other wedding bands we've seen. On top of that they were incredibly easy to work with and accommodating. Brooks never made us feel bad for requesting songs, no matter how random, and they learned anything we asked them to that they had the right instruments for. Overall it was an awesome experience and we could not possibly recommend them enough. If every wedding we go to in the future has Barnstorm as the band, we'll be thrilled.”
