Tucked away on a hundred-acre stretch of land, one mile outside Elkin city limits, Klondike Cabins offers a secluded escape. Original wood beams and early American antiques welcome guests to experience life a little simpler. Surrounded by 60-acres of vineyards, a 2-acre fishing pond, and a walking trail winding alongside the Grassy Creek, days can be filled with discovering what the Appalachian nature has to offer, or cozied up with a book or game of chess next to a roaring fire in the original 1920’s hearths.

  • Unique barn setting
  • Accommodates more than 200 guests
  • Historic touches

Venue considerations

  • No on-premises lodging options
  • Limited cleanup and setup services
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
Awarded Best of Zola
Communication with Danna was incredible from start to finish. She always responded quickly, answered all of our questions, and was so helpful throughout the entire planning process. The space itself is stunning—the wooded area with the lake backdrop was the perfect setting for our ceremony. One of the things that made our experience extra special was having our wedding party stay in the cabins for the entire weekend. Everything was set up and ready for our guests, and we were able to use all the kitchenware and amenities, which made hosting so easy. Having access to the entire property truly set Klondike Cabins apart, especially since so many venues don’t offer that—let alone at such a great price. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to celebrate at Klondike Cabins. The beauty of the grounds combined with the time spent surrounded by our closest friends and family made it all unforgettable.

This venue is absolutely breathtaking. The scenic mountains were the perfect background for my husband and I’s wedding and the barn was equally as stunning. So much thought was put into the design of the barn and every little detail was thought out. The bridal suite is massive and has everything you could need and more to get ready on your big day, including a salon chair! The groom’s quarter was the perfect place for the guys to hangout the day of and has a TV and bar. The barn itself doesn’t feel like just any other barn venue; it’s rustic but so elegant at the same time. I can’t recommend this venue enough and the owners are the most down-to-earth, easy people to work with!

As a photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working at Paradise Family Farm for a while now, photographing multiple weddings and hosting mini sessions there, and I truly can’t say enough wonderful things about this venue. First and foremost, the owners are some of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. They are incredibly easy to work with, organized, and always go above and beyond to make sure every detail is just right. Over the years, our professional relationship has grown into a friendship, and I honestly look forward to every opportunity I have to work with them. The property itself is absolutely stunning. From the beautifully restored barn to the picturesque outdoor ceremony space and beautiful mountains, every corner of Paradise Family Farm photographs like a dream. The scenery is full of charm, making it the perfect backdrop for weddings, engagement sessions, family photos, and seasonal minis. And then there are the Highland cows! They are such a unique and memorable part of the experience. Guests and clients absolutely love the opportunity to spend time with the smaller Highland cows (like Fast Freddy), and they add so much personality and fun to photo sessions. Paradise Family Farm is hands down one of my favorite vendors to work with. Not only do they provide an incredible experience for their couples and guests, but they also support other local businesses such as myself and many others. Their generosity, professionalism, and genuine care for the people they serve make them truly one of a kind. If you’re looking for a breathtaking wedding venue with amazing owners who will make you feel like family, I cannot recommend Paradise Family Farm enough. It is truly a hidden gem, and I feel so lucky to have been part of so many beautiful memories there. — Wendy Scott, Shew Ridge Photography

The most perfect wedding venue. I don’t think I could’ve dreamed of a better wedding venue than Winmock. From our first moments on the grounds, we knew this was our venue. We’ve been obsessed with it since!! The property is so well taken care of and you can tell how much love, pride, and care the staff have for the venue. I mean… when you open the door into the barn, it’s absolutely breathtaking. Emily is one of a kind. She is such a blessing. I don’t have enough words to described how amazing she actually is. The staff makes you feel like you’re family. My day of coordinator was Emily’s daughter. The support, kindness, patience, and care she provided was incredible. I don’t think I could’ve done it without her. Our wedding was so incredibly beautiful and smooth. I had no stress or concern. The venue makes everything so easy and everything is taken care of. 10/10 experience with the Redbird Ridge team and venue! Our wedding was on a Saturday and we also rented out the Cabin and Farmhouse for our bridal party to stay in and well as using the covered pavilion for our rehearsal dinner. Staff: Alisa was so communicative the entire process! Any questions I had, she had a quick and helpful answer. It truly felt like her and her team were there to make our day a dream come true. Even the golf cart drivers were so sweet and just added that extra touch to the day! Rehearsal Dinner: The covered Pavilion was a great space to host our rehearsal dinner. We did have a bigger group, coming in at about 60 people. We were able to seat everyone and have room for buffet tables, though it was a tighter fit. The addition of electricity and a speaker/mic made speeches a breeze. (note: the pavilion is up a tiny hill so any decor/food/coolers will have to be carried up, just fyi.) Wedding Day: The Main Hall was plenty of room for our 100 guests, we even covered the connected Terrace with a rental tent in case of rain or harsh sun. The tables, tablecloths, and chairs fit our clean white aesthetic and all decorations borrowed from the venue were in great shape and super convenient to have on site and ready for us. The open Meadow provided the most gorgeous back drop for our end of May ceremony. The mountains greenery was in full bloom and truly brought the photos to life! It was very nice that the venue provided 2 limo style golf carts to transport our guests from ceremony to reception to parking. (note: it does take a bit of time to transport that many guests so be sure to budget time for transportation for your guests before ceremony/reception start.) The entrance and parking situation seemed to be confusing for the guests and vendors. There are technically 3 entrances, one for the private farmhouse, one for vendors (by request) and then the main entrance for guests and parking. Even though we sent out a map to our guests/vendors, the entrances are within a curve so they are hard to see until you get there. I feel like signage with more contrast could help this issue but overall it worked out. Farmhouse: My bridesmaids and I stayed in the farmhouse the night before the wedding. Alisa and her husband were so welcoming, even letting us sit in their kitchen floor to play with their new litter of kittens. The rental access includes the upstairs portion which was plenty of room for us 6 girls. There were 3 full bathrooms we were able to use. We never felt as we were in someone else's space as the house was partitioned off well between rental and living spaces. Cabin: This was probably my favorite part of the property. This cute little old (but very updated) cabin hosted the groomsmen the night before and then my husband and I the night after. There is a full kitchen so the boys were able to cook dinner. We even had our two dogs stay here with us! 6 guys were able to sleep upstairs where there is also a half bath. The only full bath is downstairs in the master bedroom. The beds were super comfy and the fenced in backyard was so nice to have onsite! Just beware that the cabin is off in a woodsy area so there is wildlife/aka watch your pets!! The conditions were good so the venue did let us host a small fire in the backyard fire pit to roast marshmallows which was the perfect end to the night. (note: the upstairs ceilings are quite low so if you are over 6 foot, you might have to duck a tiny bit.)
