“Naked Soul (led by Tony and Tom Perrone) absolutely ROCKED at our wedding! Tons of friends and family told us during and afterwards that they were the best wedding band they'd seen, and we might be biased, but we agree wholeheartedly. They were also pretty great to work with, and as a result music was one of the least stressful parts of planning and one of the best memories of the event. The planning process was extremely professional — we had a few calls with Tony to talk over the vibe we were going for in the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dance floor. They sent over a list of a couple hundred songs in their repertoire and we picked 20 or so to anchor their idea of what we were looking for and selected our processionals, recessional, first dance, and parent-child dances. Our first dance was not on their list but they learned it and killed it in their performance. Our venue was a little non-traditional (relatively small room for the dance floorband) and we weren't sure that a full band was going to work in the space, but Tony put us at ease and pulled it off amazingly. One of the points Tony made in the run-up was that the songs we were picking were recommendations, not a set list. The band was going to follow the vibe and play more of whatever style was working with the crowd. This made it so much easier for us to pick songs, and in the end they played a lot of stuff that wasn't in our pics but went over better than we could have dreamed. I never thought I'd say that the best songs at my wedding were from the Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, and Black Eyed Peas. They knew their audience and the place went wild when they played Everybody (Backstreet's Back). The range of songs that a 10-piece band with a full array of vocalists can pull off is wild. Anyway, 10/10, would book again. If you're in the New York area and looking for a party we can't recommend Perrone Bros/Naked Soul highly enough. Bonus, these pics were taken by Tony and posted to their Instagram after the event.”

Working with Justin was hands down one of the best decisions we made for our big day. With Skylark, we effectively "had our cake and ate it too." We were initially torn because we wanted the romantic atmosphere of live instruments, but we also wanted a high-energy party with our specific favorite songs (which a band is often limited by). Plus, full bands are insanely expensive. Justin offered the perfect hybrid solution. We were able to have a stunning guitar, violin, and cello trio for our ceremony and cocktail hour, and then transition to Justin DJing the reception. It was the best of both worlds—we saved on the cost of a 10-piece band but sacrificed absolutely nothing in terms of quality or vibe. Beyond the music itself, Justin’s professionalism is unmatched. He walked us through every step of the planning process. But the true test of a vendor is how they handle stress. A couple of months before our wedding, our venue suddenly updated their outdoor music guidelines. We were in a total panic, thinking our ceremony plans were ruined. We let Justin know, and he responded immediately with a calm, "can-do" attitude. He adjusted the instrumentation to meet the new rules quickly and sorted it out without us having to lift a finger. He also went above and beyond to personalize the evening. We have a close friend who is a singer, and we wanted her to perform a couple of songs during the reception. Justin didn't hesitate; he coordinated directly with her to ensure the audio levels were perfect and the logistics were seamless. It ended up being such a special moment, and Justin made it happen effortlessly. And then, there was the party. Justin transitioned to MC/DJ duties and read the crowd perfectly. Because we chose the DJ route for the reception, we got to hear the original versions of all our favorite tracks. The dance floor was absolutely wild all night long. The energy was so high that at one point, while we were taking portraits outside, our photographer actually stopped and told us, “There is literally a rave going on inside.” From the elegant strings and the special guest performance to the absolute rager at the end, Justin executed everything perfectly. “Marcus did an amazing job as the DJ for our wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse! Prior to the wedding, we completed a worksheet on the timeline and our song preferences, and then had a planning meeting with him where we went over all the details and he gave us advice on flow and timeline based on his extensive experience DJ-ing weddings. Through all our interactions, we could tell how detail-oriented and experienced he was. The Prospect Park Boathouse can be a tricky venue with its short load-in time and long, narrow layout, but Marcus knew it well and planned accordingly. We also had a Vietnamese/Chinese wedding; in addition to a DJ, we also had a pianist with a singer, and a bilingual emcee. This added some complexity in terms of timeline and switching between the singer and the DJ, but Marcus coordinated well with everyone, kept track of the timeline, and handled all transitions between live music and DJ sets seamlessly. He also showed up a little early to make sure all equipment was set up well and did a mic check during the cocktail hour. During the dance portion of the night, the dance floor was packed all night and people did not want to leave! He played all the songs we wanted (along with additional ones he selected) and all the transitions and mixes were fantastic and kept the energy/vibe high. Many guests commented on how great our DJ was! Even though we had a different emcee, we know that Marcus would have done a fantastic job as an emcee as well - he is warm, friendly, gracious, and charismatic. He is not only a great DJ but also a fantastic human being!”

“We hired Zach back in April to DJ for our 10th year anniversary party. We bought out a restaurant so we had the celebration split between a cocktail hour, dinner and then dancing after dinner Zach asked us for a list of songs/playlist for our songs, and we gave him 2 sets: One for cocktail hour/dinner and one for the dancing section. The vibes were amazing during the cocktail hour and dinner. My parents personally loved some of their very own favorites playing as we were all chatting and having dinner. Once the dinner service ended, music transitioned into Disco/Salsa/Merengue and it was great to see our friends jumping from their chairs and into the dance floor. We’ve heard nothing but great compliments from friends and family on the music and vibes through the night and the great pickup during the happy hour! We’ll be forever thankful for your help in making the night a memorable one for us and our loved ones.”

They had great communication - it was easy to coordinate with them through their app and they always replied to our texts quickly. On the day of, their DJ played a wonderful variety of songs that kept our dance floor packed all night. The song selections were perfect and the lights really added to the fun, lively atmosphere. Our DJ was especially great, even dancing some merengue with one of our guests! We couldn't have asked for a better entertainment team to make our wedding celebration so special.”

Jesse and Justin have been playing music together since they met performing in a band at Disneyland in 2001. After moving to Beacon, NY around the same time, it made sense to start an official wedding music business to share their love of music with some of the many happy couples getting married in the Hudson Valley. One thing they love about playing music for weddings is the variety that is required of them. Every gig is different and they all happen on one of the happiest days of the clients' lives!

“Jesse was amazing at our wedding and we cannot recommend his service more. He was incredibly professional and responsive over email, and respected our music requests. When the wedding day came around, he kept our guests entertained during cocktail hour and transitioned seamlessly to our dinner service. Further, when he discovered there was an antique piano in our venue (which we didn't mention to him since the venue told us it wasn't tuned or working), he asked permission to get it running and used it instead of his keyboard. This made for even better ambiance and photos and we were very impressed at how quickly he adapted. We can confidently recommend Jesse and Skylark Music for any wedding and are very thankful to them making our day so special!”

“From the moment we first spoke with Matty at MD Music & Entertainment, we knew we were in good hands. You learn quickly in wedding planning how important communication is and Matty is excellent in this regard. He was quick to respond, helpful and reassuring every step of the way. The quality of Matty's work and his value was truly exceptional - Matty took the time to understand our taste in music and the vibe we wanted for each aspect of the night, and then spun that into absolutely perfect playlists. Our guests were on the dance floor until the final minute, raving about how incredible the music was. I should note, we requested what was basically a 4.5 hour dance set and Matty didn't bat an eye and our guests never wanted to leave. I think it's worth noting that Matty's style is to let the music shine and he won't overpower that with too many announcements or call outs. Also, I know he got requests from guests in real time but he protected the work we'd done together in advance and made sure not to stray from what we communicated that we wanted as a couple in those moments. Matty also went above and beyond to help organize live music with a family member, demonstrating his professionalism and commitment to making our day special. We cannot recommend MD Music & Entertainment highly enough!”
