    Rob was fantastic!

    Our experience with Justin Raymund Deejays was exceptional. From the start, their communication was clear, consistent and fast, putting us at ease throughout the planning process. On the day of our wedding, Rob Patterson, our DJ, was passionate, informative and executed the music flawlessly. He played all the songs we had requested and blended the tunes seamlessly, keeping our dance floor packed all night long.     The best DJ!

    We all know the music can make or break your wedding so this was one of the most important decisions we had to make — and we can 100% say choosing Justin to be our DJ was the right one! From the first call with Justin, we could tell that he understood the vibe we were going for and we were so excited for the big day. We had the pleasure of having Justin DJ our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The timing at the ceremony was perfect for our procession and recessional and the mic for our officiant sounded perfect. The vibes definitely started going with cocktail hour and set the mood straight through to dinner. We already had people coming up to us and complimenting the music! When it was time for our specialty dances, Justin nailed that timing and announcements. Then it was time to open up the dance floor! The first song got everyone singling along and dancing together and it truly didn’t stop until the last song. We barely left the dance floor all night long! Even our other vendors said how much they loved Justin’s music all day. We highly recommend Justin to DJ your wedding, you won’t be disappointed!

    The best!

    Months later and I'm still receiving compliments from our guests on how incredible our music was! Justin knows how to get a dance floor going and keep it going. He listened carefully to what songs we wanted and played them at just the right moments. Even better, he played songs that fit exactly with our style/genre/mood that I wouldn't have thought to ask for, but were perfect. Seriously, I could not have been happier. He was also a great communicator leading up to the event—always responsive and excited to talk. Wish I could have a party with him every weekend!

    Beat Wedding DJ of All Time

    Justin is THE BEST wedding DJ ever. Because he is not really a wedding DJ - he’s a REAL DJ who is also GREAT at MCing. Our party was off the hook because Justin was able to blend together our extremely eclectic music taste in a way that kept everyone on the dance floor. We could not have been more thrilled with his work. He is also an incredibly sweet person and truly wants to get to know you as a couple in order to tailor everything to your personality and vibe. Justin, we cannot thank you enough for what was the BEST WEDDING EVER! We will forever relive the Black Parade song along!

I love finding new (or old) music that I wasn't previously familiar with. As big as my repertoire is, and as vast as my knowledge is, I still miss things! One of my favorite aspects of weddings is getting the opportunity to dig deeply into other people's tastes. I love finding new music through my clients! Nothing is too weird or obscure.
I am a highly skilled, globe-trotting DJ with a vast amount of experience doing all kinds of events - from poetry slams to stadiums, hole-in-the-wall bars to packed mega-clubs, theatre productions to stages with some of your favorite musical acts. I bring the intangible to your event - a fine tuned intuition, reading the room, responding to the needs of the moment, to make sure your party is EPIC!
You hire a DJ to be a filter. Sometimes guests ask for songs that are inappropriate for the party, not suited to the moment, or not within the scope of a couple's vision for the big day. Requests are expected to played, while "gentle suggestions" are considered. It makes for a better party, truly. I never want to shut out any feedback from my crowd, and it doesn't get more direct than talking!
Absolutely! The prelude - the time when your guests arrive before the ceremony - is an oft-overlooked, yet essential time for creating a vibe for your event. Cocktail hour is often my favorite part of the night! It is also essential for creating a vibe, but it also builds the energy, and gives the crowd a sneak peak of what's to come. It's a great time to explore a couples deeper musical leanings.
Usually I keep it pretty simple - all black, or black slacks with a stylish button-up, with some simple, nondescript, yet comfortable shoes. Something akin to what most photographers wear, but with just a touch more flare. I am happy to wear a suit and tie, too!
I play music from all cultures! I love music, and I love exploring it all! I specialize in many different genres, including Latin, African, and Caribbean music. I can mix any songs you throw my way! Let's celebrate your culture!

I am a Hip-Hop DJ at heart. Hip-hop is a melting pot of all kinds of music, and it has taught me about Jazz, Blues, Rock, Disco, Latin music, African music, and so much more! I am also from Chicago - the birth place of House music - which has been hugely influential in my life. So let's just say I bring a Hip-Hop style to an eclectic mix of music, with a keen ear for what makes the butts move.
It can depend on the situation, but my general rule of thumb is to arrive two hours before guests are expected to arrive. It gives me plenty of time to handle all of the various aspects of the set-up at a calm, methodical pace, and allows ample time to address any hiccups that may happen!
I believe in the power of focus. I am a great DJ because of it. No one has ever left one of my parties like, "that DJ was awesome, but you know what he could have used? A fog machine and 25 strobe lights." I feel like lights are a bit gimmicky, and don't really add a ton of value to the party experience. There are companies that specialize in lighting - they'll handle it a lot better than a DJ!
Anything over an hour of travel gets charged at $250/hour. I will pro-rate at half hour intervals for the first hour. There is no set-up or break-down fee, as these are essential parts of the job, and are already considered in my package rates. If something requires an extra back-breaking amount of work, that may need further consideration (i.e. DJing on a mountain top with a generator).
Sales taxes are included in my flat-rate package fees.
