Big fan of dive bars, staring at the stars, forever searching for the best french fries, a blissfully cold Diet Coke, and a true midwestern why fly it's only 15 hours. You'll find me often traveling, spending time in nature, collecting rocks and shopping for vintage t-shirts. I love carefree messy in between moments, photographing my daily life on polaroids and film. I've lived a lot of places (Arizona, Arkansas, and Puerto Rico to name a few!) and have so many places that I treasure and feel at home.

So you'll need a photographer who knows when to step in, when to keep things moving, and when to let you forget there’s a camera nearby. I’ll help gather your family, keep portraits organized, fix the little things, make you laugh when you need it, and quietly watch for the moments you never want to forget. You get a photographer, a timeline cheerleader, a family wrangler, and someone fully invested in making sure you actually enjoy your day.

Treehouse Studios Photography was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding day! From the start, their communication style was fun, professional, and creative. The quality of their work was truly stunning - the photos they captured were detailed, professional, and exceeded our expectations. One example of how they contributed to our special day was that the photographer made sure to get couple shot with our direct family members who we had forgotten to include. Additionally, the sneak peeks we received were gorgeous and came promptly. We were greatly impressed by the value of their services, as the pricing was very reasonable for the amazing photos they delivered. I would highly recommend Treehouse Studios Photography to any couple looking for a talented and dedicated wedding photography team.

Our photographer Caroline was so nice and accommodating! She made us feel so comfortable which is not easy as I am not a photogenic person. We loved having her at the wedding. She fit right in with the crowd so she got some amazing pictures. We love all of our photos but especially the ceremony shots and the candids from the reception. The planning process was amazing- no notes. We wouldn’t change anything!I’m

He was incredibly intentional and truly listened to the shots and edits we wanted, which made the final video feel so personal and meaningful. We were in awe by the timeless and beautiful photo gallery and videos we received that we’ll cherish for a lifetime. Wildcrest Studio, established by Jessie Harris, is a natural light, lifestyle photographer. I aim to capture the magic of your wedding day and you as a unique couple through peerless, stunning photographs!

Awarded Best of Zola
I am going to try and get off my soapbox for this review but I make no promises. Hiring Jessie Harris and Wildcrest Studios for my wedding was the single best decision I have ever made, except for marrying my husband. We had a small wedding, with a small budget, a very specific vision, no planner or coordinator, and no freaking clue what we were doing. From my first phone call with Jessie I knew that she was something special. She is experienced, organized, diligent, detail oriented, creative, kind, patient, and funny as heck. She truly listens to what you are hoping for and - somehow, despite all odds - she makes it happen. She LITERALLY threw off her shoes and climbed into Lake Michigan to get a shot of my husband and I on a dock at sunset. She kicked the groomsmen out of the area during our first touch because it was ruining the moment and I was too emotional and nervous to say anything. She drove across the state to shoot a pre-wedding reception for us. Alex, the second shooter, tied my husband’s bow tie for him before he walked down the aisle… and my brother’s… and my dad’s… and I’m pretty sure half the groomsmen’s bow ties too. She helped us create the timeline for our wedding day. She even gave us advice on what to pick for our first dance. And, to top it all off, she has provided us with the most unbelievable and stunning engagement, reception, and wedding day photos I could have imagined. Grateful doesn’t begin to cover how I feel when thinking about finding Jessie and Wildcrest Studios. Do yourself a favor and at least send an inquiry. Or don’t, and I’ll keep her all to myself :)

Jaymi Joy Photo
Rating: 5.0 (20 reviews)
·Ratings include Zola and Google reviews
  • Photojournalistic style

  • Serves Free Soil, MI

Hi. I'm Jaymi! I'm a West Michigan wedding photographer specializing in creative, documentary-style wedding photography for couples who want authentic, story-driven images with a blend of candid moments and artistic composition. Michigan is home, but I'm available for travel worldwide!

I'm absolutely in love with Jaymi and her photography service! Lengthy positive review ahead: Initially, I was drawn to her cinematic style of photography; often intentionally capturing otherwise candid moments lost to time and preserving them forever. I work in entertainment, with a degree in fine arts, so finding someone with a keen eye for color, composition, and bespoke style was important to me and my husband. Jaymi's photography style is very unique in the world of wedding photography. Like I mentioned, her style leans more like stills from movies, rather than structure portraits. Of course, we received many traditional photos (with a touch of Jaymi's style), but I absolutely adore the photos that feel more candid. Aside from taking lovely photos of us and our friends/family, Jaymi does a great job at taking photos of the wedding itself. With how much prep goes into florals, cakes, venues, and decor, having photos that capture the vibe from the day are really important. Her photos truly showcase the feeling of the day, taking advantage of the weather, air, nature, and placement of everything. Additionally, the editing she applies to the photos feels nostalgic, and creates a timeless look! Jaymi's process throughout our entire booking/prep/and big day was professional, attentive, loving, and thoughtful. I dearly appreciated that she wanted to get to know us as a couple, and incorporated that into her work. She checked in with us often before the wedding, making sure we were prepared and feeling good about everything. Most notably, Jaymi required us to fill out a very thorough document to help prep her as much as possible; from minor details about us as a couple to specific information about relationships/photo groupings. Additionally, Jaymi went above and beyond providing sneak peaks and the final photos. I was stunned with the volume of breathtaking photos we received, and the swiftness in sharing sneak peak photos post wedding! One of my favorite memories was driving home the day after our wedding, and going through the sneak peaks admits a 10 hour drive. All these things were something I really appreciated, wedding photos are very intimate and it's assuring to work with someone who cares as much about the photos as we do. Lastly, I want to compliment Jaymi as a person! She is incredibly kind, and really brings the 'joy' in Jaymi Joy. She was cheerful throughout the entire day, keeping things on track and making sure everyone was feeling great. Jaymi is flexible, understanding, patient, and above all else, caring. I truly cannot compliment Jaymi enough, and know she will treat every wedding with the same devotion she treated ours.

I’m Cammi! Noelle is my middle name, and I’m a wedding photographer and graphic designer with nearly a decade of experience in the industry. I’m a mama to the sweetest little boy and married to my very best friend—two roles that have shaped my heart for meaningful, honest storytelling more than anything else. I’m deeply people-oriented and endlessly inspired by connection, landscapes, and the moments that matter most. Photography isn’t just my job—it’s the way I tell stories and preserve seasons of life in a way that feels true, emotional, and lasting. I’m incredibly honored to do what I do.

Noelle Photo was exceptional in every way. Their communication throughout the entire wedding planning process was maintained, helpful, and well-executed. On the day of our wedding, their calming and professional presence was exactly what I needed to slow down the hectic pace. The photographers captured all the beautiful, fleeting moments that we will cherish forever. Their superior skills and attention to detail resulted in photos that are truly worthy of our special day. We are overjoyed with the final product and could not recommend Noelle Photo more highly.

Millennial Lens Photography LLC was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding day. From the moment we first reached out, Amber was fast, personal, and incredibly effective in their communication style. Her passion for their craft was evident in the beautiful photos she captured that truly tell the story of our special day. Amber was our wedding photographer for seven or eight hours, and she made sure we were both feeling comfortable (my husband and I are both incredibly awkward at taking pictures) but she walked us through everything and directed us on where to go and gave us ideas on what to do. Hi! My name is Mae, and I live in Brooklyn with my girlfriend, our two dogs Apollo and Bia, her cat Gigi and my lizard, Basil! I’ve always been passionate about capturing moments as authentically and magically as possible, and as i’ve settled more into this career path, I love that i’ve landed in a place where I have the privilege to capture and preserve people’s love stories. Weddings and elopements are so distinctly and uniquely human, and it’s truly the biggest honor to be trusted to document them.

Awarded Best of Zola
I came across Mae’s work when looking for a photographer for engagement photos in Central Park, and I was immediately impressed with Mae and knew we were going to be incredibly happy with the results. Mae responded immediately to all my questions, day or night, and took the time to video chat with me at length twice before the shoot to discuss what we were looking for in our photos. Before the shoot, I had sent her a few examples of what I liked, and not only did the photos come out exactly how I wanted them, but were even more perfect than I envisioned. The engagement shoot itself was so much fun, and Mae made us feel so comfortable throughout the entire process, despite us thinking we’d both feel awkward getting posed photos of us taken. Mae truly had a vision for what poses, locations, and lighting would work, and the execution was perfect. Some of the feedback we got from our friends was that the photos looked like a magazine, and that they were “ethereal.” Even better, Mae somehow got us the edited photos back within 24 hours of the shoot. Her pricing is also incredibly reasonable given the quality of her work, meticulousness, and experience in photography, as well as the very quick turnaround time. My fiance and I truly cannot recommend her enough, and we are excited to work with her again in the future. She is truly an artist, and any couple would be incredibly lucky to work with her!

I’m Brittany, a laid-back, candid and colorful photographer in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I love working with ALL couples, but especially have a soft spot for non-traditional weddings. My gays, weirdos, ADHDers, D&D players- I'm your girl. Let's connect over our shared passions or fandoms- I'm a lover of all things spooky, Halloween, books, cats, oat milk lattes, Star Wars, and continuing education courses.

Awarded Best of Zola
I cannot more highly recommend Brittany and her team! I first worked with her when my friends and I hired her to for a surprise photo shoot for a friend's bachelorette. We had the best time walking around Three Oaks, MI, taking photos in front of cute buildings and murals, in a public community garden, on the steps of our rental house with a giant Batman balloon, and more. Brittany had tunes playing the whole time to keep an upbeat tone, and the photos were ones that captured the joy and meaning of lifelong friendships. My experience with her was so positive that when it was then time to find a photographer for my own wedding, she was my top choice. I was delighted to find out that even though she's based in Western, MI, she also does weddings in Chicagoland. We shared with her that our top priorities were taking pictures with our families, taking pictures as a couple in a way where we could just kind of walk around and interact with the environment and see what inspires us, and capturing the ceremony and reception. Brittany and her second photographer Liv more than delivered on our requests. Our photo shoot with our families was incredibly fun! We walked to a nearby park, got our pre-planned pictures, and then were able to get some really precious candid pictures of my nephew, brother, and his wife going down the playground slide. We also got some incredibly cute pictures of my baby niece, sister, and brother-in-law. I'm not including the family pics here since they're pics with kids, but just know that they are amazing! Brittany and Liv did such a good job making funny noises to get our niece and nephew to laugh, and as a result, put the rest of us at ease as well. Taking pictures as a couple was also really fun! I am not someone who naturally feels comfortable getting my photo taken, but I just had the best time! They made it a laid-back, and creative experience, where we could all kind of have ideas and try them out. At one point I was like "I like this lamp post, can we get a picture with it?" and they were like "yes!" My husband was also having a lot of pre-wedding jitters, and Liv was somehow magically able to put him at ease. A thing I didn't really think about before the wedding is that taking couples pictures is some of the only "alone" time you get on your wedding day. Brittany and Liv made this time really special, bringing positive energy, affirmation, and creativity, while creating space for us to treasure our time together as a couple. Finally, they did an incredible job capturing the ceremony and reception. I can't even really put into words what they managed to do. They captured the small details- the facial expressions, the moments where everyone's laughing because of an intentional joke or an unintentional but charming mess up. They captured us as a couple, but also the community we were lucky enough to gather around us. There's something intangible about the magic you create at a wedding, that they somehow bottled it up and got it into these photos, which we will treasure for the rest of our lives.

For more than a decade, I’ve photographed weddings throughout Northern Michigan and beyond with a documentary approach and an editorial eye. I love beautiful design, but I’m most drawn to the people, relationships, and unscripted moments that make your wedding uniquely yours. My goal is to create timeless photographs that let you stay fully present on your wedding day and become even more meaningful in the years to come.

Working with Anna Beth Smith was a breath of fresh air from start to finish. She communicated with us in a straightforward way that made planning feel easy, and on our wedding day she moved through our family and friends with such grace that most people barely noticed her capturing the moment. Her photos are sharp and intentional, with an upscale quality that shows how much thought she puts into each shot. What really stood out was her genuine personality paired with professionalism—she felt like part of our celebration, not just someone behind the camera. We got our photos back before promised and couldn't believe how clean and polished they looked. Anna Beth delivered exactly what she promised and then some, and we'd recommend her to anyone looking for a photographer who cares about their couples as much as their craft.

When asked when I first knew I wanted to be a photographer, it's hard to pinpoint a specific time, as I feel I have always had an eye for photography. From ripping up magazines, photoshoots with friends, the rise of Tumblr & Instagram, to taking a 35mm black & white film photography class in high school, going on to get my BFA in photography, and establishing my business - photography is truly in everything I do. I have been photographing weddings for over 7 years now. My work is a combination of unfiltered documentary, funky fashion editorial, and timeless fine art with a modern twist.

Kate went above and beyond on our wedding day to ensure our special moments were fully captured. Both on film and digitally, she understood the essence of our day and worked diligently to showcase that through final imagery. The film aspect was a sweet initial treat to receive. To see our day in a raw, one shot kind of experience. She was on time to her delivery of our final gallery and blew us away with her talent! Moody, clear and candid. Not to mention, she’s got a laugh that makes you laugh, a personality that allows you to feel yourself around and was professional from start to finish. She really cares for her clients and the work that she does. You can tell it’s more than just her business, it’s her entire heart! 100% recommend!

Hi!! I'm Jen, the heart and soul behind Jen Marie Imagery! I'm passionate about creating unforgettable memories through my lens. Beyond being a dedicated photographer, I'm a coffee lover, taco enthusiast, concert junkie, Netflix aficionado, and proud pet parent. My journey with photography started as a childhood passion, using up all my mom's film on disposable cameras. What began as a hobby transformed into my life's calling in 2016 when I booked my first wedding. From that moment, I knew I had found my true purpose. There’s nothing I love more than photographing love!

Jen and her team were super friendly to work with, and we would absolutely use them again if we ever needed a photographer in the future. We highly recommend Jen Marie Imagery to anyone looking for an excellent wedding photographer.

Liv Lyszyk Photography

HEY! I'm Liv Lyszyk Maxwell (pronounced LY-zick, blame it on my Polish and Ukrainian roots) and I am a 20-something wedding and portrait photographer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most days you can find me designing for my other business Liv Lyszyk Prints, wearing leggings (I don't do zippers), and eating too much sushi. I spend my time fighting for equity in the interest of all marginalized groups. I am always looking for my next travel adventure whether that be to a new town on lake Michigan, or half way around the world, I want to see it all.

My wife and I chose Liv for our engagement and wedding photos and we couldn’t be happier! We decided on Liv because they are are part of the LGBTQ community and has experience with capturing queer weddings. We also love Liv’s photography style and how they are able to capture the sweet moments so beautifully. Our photos turned out so fun and colorful and totally captured the essence of the day. You can feel the emotions within them which take us right back to those special moments. We’ve had several of our vendors use our wedding photos on their websites and even got published in a local queer magazine. We have many of our photos printed and framed around our house and the quality is exceptional! We will always recommend Liv as they are a joy to work with! They showed up on our wedding day ready to work and capture the day with a big smile and full of enthusiasm. They were a joy to be around and made everyone comfortable for photos. We got many more live action photos vs posed photos, which I prefer. Liv is truly great and my wife and I couldn’t be happier!

Hi! My name is Steve. I do visual storytelling. I’m married with three kids and in my spare time I record music and build things. I've been filming and photographing weddings since 2009. I love travel and getting to know unique couples.

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired Steven and his team to do our wedding photos and videography. I really wanted a photographer that could capture the soul of the event, and Steven did exactly that. His photos are full of life, and I shared so many portraits with guests that actually got printed out or posted online. If you're looking for hundreds of photos of your wedding party that look exactly the same and for every planned second to be documented, Steven is not your person. If you're looking to hit the big moments but focus on capturing raw moments with timeless photos to get framed, I couldn't recommend them more. I never thought I would get a wedding video because it always seemed cheesy to me. But after watching examples of his work I fell absolutely in love with his videos. I've honestly had a hard time watching ours because it evokes so much emotion. Steven was collaborative and willing to go with the flow. We gave him the difficult task of being prepared for 3 different locations with totally differing lighting (indoor/outdoor plus shooting from high sun into the night). He puts an immense amount of care into his work and the photos are truly art that we will cherish forever. If there are specific things you want covered, be sure to share a list. When it comes to capturing the moments that can't be planned, he is on the case!
