Q: Do you have insurance?

I do! I have insurance on both myself and my equipment, if your venue needs proof of that I'm more than happy to send that over to them.

Q: What’s your back-up plan if you can’t photograph our wedding as planned?

I've never had to cancel a wedding so no worries there. I have a large network of very capable and talented photographers who are more than happy to step in for each other in case of injury, sickness, etc. It's only happened twice in my career and it went off without a problem. The alternate photographer would be there the day of but I would still edit all of the images in my style and handle everything else. You'd be in great hands in the very small chance I'm unable to be there :)

Q: How many pictures will we get?

Each wedding day is different but I average about 100-150 images per hour of coverage. Of course that can vary based on how many guests are in attendance, what events are happening during the day, and other factors. But rest assured, I include all of the good photos and won't skimp on how many images are in your gallery.

Q: How long will it take to see our pictures?

I'm always super excited to see the photos and get them to you so I will send a handful of sneak peeks within 48 hours of the event! Then my usual turn around time is 4-6 weeks depending on the season. I tend to be closer to the 4 week mark but always like to give some wiggle room in case life happens or I'm in my extra busy season which is typically sept-oct.

Q: How does your pricing work?

I price everything a la carte because I know that one size doesn't fit all when it comes to weddings. Many of my couples find that package pricing makes them pay for services they don't really need. My pricing structure is hourly with add ons such as a second photographer or engagement session and travel fee. Most traditional full weddings are between 6-8 hours and most elopement style days are 3-4 hours.

Q: Do you work with assistants or other photographers?

Most of the time I work by myself but absolutely love working with a second photographer should you choose to add it on. My pricing structure is a la carte so you only have to pay for a second photographer should you deem it necessary. If you're unsure if you'd like one we can hop on a consult call to talk more about your vision and needs!

Q: Are you an inclusive photographer?

YES! Being queer myself I fully respect and celebrate love in all forms. As long as you are a kind and compassionate human I want to work with you. I make sure that your identity is respected throughout my entire process, from asking pronouns in my intake form, asking about any family situations I should be aware of in my final prep form, and respecting if you'd like to keep your images off social media for whatever reason. You deserve to feel safe!

Q: How long do you keep our online gallery active?

The formal answer is a year, but the real answer is kind of indefinitely. My gallery system doesn't charge me to keep your gallery active so I still have weddings on there from 2017. While I highly suggest downloading your images onto a flash drive or CD or cloud system right away, rest assured you will have access to your images for a long time in case something happens.

HEY! I'm Liv Lyszyk Maxwell (pronounced LY-zick, blame it on my Polish and Ukrainian roots) and I am a 20-something wedding and portrait photographer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most days you can find me designing for my other business Liv Lyszyk Prints, wearing leggings (I don't do zippers), and eating too much sushi. I spend my time fighting for equity in the interest of all marginalized groups. I am always looking for my next travel adventure whether that be to a new town on lake Michigan, or half way around the world, I want to see it all.

My photography style is earthy, romantic, and genuine. I’m not going to make you look like you are at 80’s prom, because if you are like me, you really want to see those authentic moments. The ones where grandpa Jim is tearing up watching you dance, or where your child sneaks a kiss on your head. I am breaker of traditions in that I know each couple has their own unique vision. I get so excited when couples decide to go against the grain and unapologetically do what they want. Whatever it may be, I want it to be uniquely yours.

Absolutely Incredible Experience!
Liv Lyszyk Photography was everything we could’ve hoped for and more. Liv captured every beautiful moment of our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception with such care and artistry. Every photo feels alive — full of the genuine joy and emotion of the day. What really stood out was how effortlessly Liv interacted with our guests. She made everyone feel so comfortable and natural that the photos truly reflect people’s real smiles, laughter, and happiness for us. It’s rare to find someone who can blend professionalism with such warmth and authenticity. We also loved that Liv worked solo. Liv is the best!

The most heartfelt photos
My wife and I chose Liv for our engagement and wedding photos and we couldn’t be happier! We decided on Liv because they are are part of the LGBTQ community and has experience with capturing queer weddings. We also love Liv’s photography style and how they are able to capture the sweet moments so beautifully. Our photos turned out so fun and colorful and totally captured the essence of the day. You can feel the emotions within them which take us right back to those special moments. We’ve had several of our vendors use our wedding photos on their websites and even got published in a local queer magazine. We have many of our photos printed and framed around our house and the quality is exceptional! We will always recommend Liv as they are a joy to work with! They showed up on our wedding day ready to work and capture the day with a big smile and full of enthusiasm. They were a joy to be around and made everyone comfortable for photos. We got many more live action photos vs posed photos, which I prefer. Liv is truly great and my wife and I couldn’t be happier!

Love love love
I’ve had Liv as my photographer a few times and it’s always been an amazing experience. When I was getting married I knew I had to have Liv do my photos to capture my day, and it was the best decision. I love my photos!! She’s done my engagement photos, wedding, and family photos and they always turn out beautiful. She’s a great photographer!!

Liv's Incredible!
Choosing Liv as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions my wife and I made for our wedding day. Liv was an incredible partner in planning out what we wanted for our big day, and captured it in a way that was more stunning than I could ever imagine. Liv is so kind, inclusive, and thoughtful with their work, and made the whole process easy and enjoyable. 6 years later, Liv remains a good friend of ours, and we've even taken gorgeous boudoir photos with them!
