Sena + Shelton | Soul Stories Photography

Soul Stories is our passion project in the truest sense, it was born out of a love for the moments words can’t quite hold — the quiet glances, the laughter between vows, the way love feels when it’s seen rather than said. By day, Sena (lead photographer) is a nurse and Shelton (lead photographer) works in cybersecurity — and as a couple, photo and video has always been the way we remember and cherish life. Documenting love, celebration, and the moments that matter most is something we've always done naturally. We simply decided to share that gift with others.

We believe your story deserves to be told with heart, intention, and care. At Soul Stories, we move quietly through your day — offering direction when needed, but mostly allowing real moments to unfold naturally. Every couple we work with becomes part of our story too. From late-night edits to thoughtful communication, we pour ourselves into every detail so your memories are preserved with the honesty they deserve. We’re more than photographers — we’re storytellers who believe love should be felt in every frame.

    They Capture Soul Stories!

    As I finally begin to write this review, my mind does not know where to start. Sena and Shelly have made it hard to find such meaningful and beautiful words to describe just how wonderful they are. Having phenomenal, near & dear photos of my wedding day was extremely important to me and as I spent hours meticulously researching and thumbing through every vendor– photographers ranked at the top of that list. As a bride, Sena was my main point of contact throughout the whole process and I could not thank her enough for being my hype man and being SO understanding. Furthermore, I truly feel that the attitude of your vendors can change everything when planning your own wedding, and Sena was such a delight to chat with. From over 300 days out to the big day, she came with such a calm yet electric energy that was contagious! She would've been my bridesmaid if she wasn't holding the camera and I mean that from the bottom of my heart! Again, knowing that your vendors want to be there for you and not make a quick buck is so relieving. They understood my budget and worked hard to make it happen without underselling themselves, or giving me less than what I wanted. Seeing them both be so excited to capture such a day meant the world to me. seeing the sneak peak after, not only can I obviously see the love poured out between my husband and I, but I can see their love poured out unto their craft. Each photo has so much love and energy behind it. To brag some more about how phenomenal these people are, Sena and Shelly even went out of their way to pick up my bridal flowers and make the bouquet for me! They adjusted my veil at my ceremony, helped me put my heels on, offered to get me my food at the reception, even asked the bartenders for dish soap when my dress got pollen on it, and proceeded to scrub it off my dress! I'm sure I'm missing some things, too! Okay, okay, if you’ve read this far, I think you're thinking what I’m thinking and that’s: HIRE THEM! Honestly, (although I don’t think I have to) I beg of you, hire them. These are great and amazing people and I cannot wait to see where else their photography takes them. Sena and Shelly create photographs for generations to come, timeless, elegant, warm and thoughtful.     Absolutely amazing photographers!

    I cannot truly put into words how amazing our experience with Sena and Shelton was for our wedding. They were extremely supportive, helpful, adaptable, and kind throughout our entire wedding day. They took time out of their day to scope out perfect photo spots ahead of time. In moments where I was anxious, Sena jumped in to settle me down and support me. She touched up my makeup when needed without question. Shelton was extremely helpful in finding solutions to any small problems that came up and always was uplifting our entire wedding party. They capture true genuine moments that feel like a story and they make the day so special and fun. Their work is absolutely stunning and we are amazed with the photos. I will forever run back to them for any photography needs and as a friend! I couldn’t have made it through the big day without them. Will always recommend them to anyone!

    Cinematic and Dreamy!!!

    I seriously cannot stop recommending Soul Stories to everyone I know. They’re spontaneous but so organized, their style and edits are beautiful and customized to exactly what you want. They really tailor the experience to you. Beyond the stunning photos, if you’re looking for vendors who truly care about giving you a cohesive and meaningful experience, they’re the ones.

    Magical Engagement Shoot!

    What a blessing to have such talented friends! It was such an honor to have this session with Sena and Shelton. They took care of us, made us laugh, and made it so easy to be ourselves, when sometimes getting photos taken can be nerve wracking! Everything was so professional yet so personal, and we would shoot with them again in a heartbeat. Their creative minds perfectly captured what we had in envisioned, and are so grateful we have memories captured to look back on for years to come :)

Most couples book 8–14 months in advance, especially for spring and fall weekends. Once your date is confirmed, we recommend booking as soon as possible to secure your spot on our calendar.
Yes! We’re a husband-and-wife team — when you book me, you’re also booking my husband, who assists as a second shooter and manages the flow of the day. For larger weddings, we may also bring an additional photographer or content creator from our team to ensure every angle is beautifully captured.
Yes! Every image you receive is carefully hand-edited in our signature warm, timeless style. We don’t release raw or unedited files, as editing is a key part of our creative process. All final images will be edited for color, saturation, exposure, and sharpness to ensure they look beautiful. I also offer retouching services like blemish removal and teeth whitening. You’ll receive around 40–80 fully edited images per hour of coverage, depending on the flow of your day and how many events or details you have planned.
Yes! You can add videography (our “Cinematic Chapter”) to any package. We also offer content-creation add-ons for short, behind-the-scenes clips perfect for social media.
My turnaround time varies by season. You’ll receive a 48-hour preview to relive your day right away! Full galleries are typically delivered within 4–12 weeks, depending on the season. Rush editing (72 hours) is available upon request. Within this time, you can also expect to receive a USB drive with high-resolution image files, so you can share the photos with your loved ones and order prints.
In our experience as a wedding photographer, we’ve never cancelled a booking. In the very rare event that we're unable to photograph your wedding due to an emergency, we have a trusted network of professional photographers and videographers who share our style and standards. We’ll handle all communication to ensure your day is seamlessly covered.
Absolutely! We travel for weddings and sessions often. Travel fees vary depending on your location — for nearby mid-west cities, it’s often included in your package. For out-of-state or destination weddings, we simply add the cost of travel and lodging (always shared up front, no surprises!).
Yes, 100%. Every story is unique, and so should your coverage be. We can tailor hours, add video, drone, or a second photographer — or even create a full-day hybrid package that includes content creation and film highlights.

Once you’re ready, we’ll send over your contract and a 30% retainer invoice to secure your date. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your wedding day. We also offer flexible payment plans to make it easy and stress-free.
