“If I could relive our wedding at Glen Magna Farms, I would 100x over. This venue was everything we wanted and more— it’s such a perfect gem and still somewhat affordable compared to other outdoor venues in New England, especially if you are looking for an outdoor tented option. It has it all— the tent, dancefloor, and tables are already included and so no need to bring in an outdoor rental company. They also only work with one catering company, one of the BEST, Vinwood Catering so that makes things really easy for you to plan and the food and drinks were incredible. I also used their day of coordinator which was great because she helped with timeline and was able to keep things moving. This is an outdoor venue only so keep that in mind there is no indoor backup option however they have a very well thought out and organized rain plan and the sides of the tent go down so regardless of weather you will be fine! We got lucky and had a perfect 75 degree sunny day in early October so the grounds and gardens were a dream. All of our guests said they have never seen a more beautiful venue — and trust me we have been to ALOT of weddings. They let you into the venue two hours before to get dressed and get ready and have photos inside the bridal and groom suite inside the mansion- which is also a dream. I really felt like I was living a fairy tale that day. There are no on site accommodations but do not fret- there are several hotel options very close by! If you are looking for a timeless, romantic, fairytale, garden wedding- LOOK NO FURTHER. BOOK IT!!”

“We truly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue for our wedding. From getting ready onsite in the beautiful, spacious bridal party suites to celebrating under the sun in the Lower Gardens, every part of the day was so special. Gina was absolutely fantastic throughout the entire process. She kept everything running smoothly and made sure we always knew what was happening and where we needed to be. With Gina, you truly feel like you’re in the best hands! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for our outdoor ceremony, and having our guests apple pick during cocktail hour was such a fun and unique touch. We received compliments all night about how gorgeous the property was. So many of our guests told us they had never been somewhere quite like it. Moraine Farm
Rating: 5.0 (1 review)
Beverly, MA
  • Up to 250 guests
  • Select services
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $17,000

Originally designed in 1880, Moraine Farm has been hailed as "the finest existing example of Frederick Law Olmsted's approach to planning a country estate" by pre-eminent Olmsted scholar Charles E. Beveridge. Olmsted created lawns, hedges, rustic stone walls, and a magnificent meadow – and collaborated with Boston architects Peabody and Stearns to design a massive stone terrace facing the lake, extending the shingle-and-stone house into the landscape. The farm took its name from a low ridge of glacial debris, called a moraine, which Olmsted used to provide an elevated vantage point for the paths and carriage drives that looped through 75 acres of coniferous forest, passed lake and meadow views, and climbed to an overlook on the edge of the 40-acre farm.

“We just had our perfect wedding at Moraine Farm and it could not have been more perfect. I wish I could go back and re-live it over and over again! The coordinator, Laura, was awesome and all our guests are still talking about how beautiful of a venue it was. The incredible food was also a huge plus :) We will forever look back at our wedding and smile. Huge thank you to everyone at Moraine and Fireside Catering that pitched in to help out on our day!”

From the very beginning, their communication was efficient, clear, and responsive, which put us at ease throughout the planning process. The quality of their work and overall value was exceptional - the venue was beautiful, with a classic, traditional style, and the pricing was very affordable. Everything we brought ahead of time was set up with ease, which led to a truly stress-free day. The venue staff as well as the catering team were incredible and made us feel so taken care of. “My now husband and I were nervous about the entire wedding process, knowing we wanted something a bit simpler, more intimate, and “nontraditional” in this day in age. We found Olio through social media and booked a tour right away. Walking up the staircase quite literally took my breath away. I was an emotional bride :) but the vast concrete walls, original flooring, and high ceilings brought tears to my eyes. We were “one and done.” Sarah, her team, and what they have created on Main Street is truly magic. We chose some budget friendly options (for items such as flowers and decor) but no matter the size, every bride is treated with luxury customer service. I’m not sure how we got so lucky, it feels like we found some sort of precious gem. We struggled to find the right words to do it all justice. Simply put, we feel so grateful. Grateful to have found Olio, Sarah, and experienced the magic firsthand. Each of our guests who attended was more taken with the space than the next. We cannot recommend it enough; you simply have to experience it for yourself.”

“I attended a wedding vow renewal at/in Black Craft Salem's haunt. We all walked down the "aisle" which was the actual haunt. We followed the "bride and groom" throughout the haunt to the very end where the actual ceremony took place. There were beautiful glowing candles everywhere and the lighting was perfect. The BCS crew was very nice and made us all feel welcomed. I have NEVER been to a ceremony as thrilling, fun and terrifyingly beautiful as this one. I could not get over the atmosphere it was McCabe and, exciting and eerie at the same time.... I felt like I was on a movie set. . EVERYONE who loves Halloween, horror and haunts in general needs to have every type of ceremony in this venue - NOT just weddings and vow renewals. BORAH! was the officiant and was the funniest thing ever, she roasted the couple and made us laugh so hard we neven shed a few tears. Thank you BCS for hosting such a remarkable space for this ceremony. I will be booking my wedding at Black Craft if I ever decide to tie the knot.”

“WILLOWDALE DELIVERS ON EVERY LEVEL!!! We could not have imagined a more perfect day in our wildest dreams and the Willowdale venue and team were a HUGE part of that. The Coach House Suite was beautiful and clean and a great way to start our day. The mansion and surrounding park showed off for our fall wedding - the landscaping was impeccable, the set up under the tent made our mouths drop, and the team (with special shout out to Jeanine) executed every one of our many details. The food was delicious - like actually good not just good for a wedding. The whole team at Willowdale was calm and knew how to execute on the day-of. They made having our pup there for the ceremony easy and meaningful. They also have a great list of star studded vendors (especially our DJ - Mark Dixon!). The team also ensured we could incorporate cultural traditions seamlessly. And the cookies!! Could not recommend more highly! One tip for the brides with a million details - the Willowdale team is incredible, but they do not have the capacity to plan all your details (they are too busy killing it for the couples getting married that month at the venue). If you have a lot of moving parts, might be worth a planner.”

Long Hill

Beverly, MA
  • Up to 150 guests

Elegant plantings and cultivated grounds fill this public garden with vibrancy that's more than a century in the making. Long Hill is a property of The Trustees of Reservations, a Massachusetts non-profit corporation. From 1916 to 1979, Long Hill was the summer home of noted author and editor of The Atlantic Monthly, Ellery Sedgwick. He summered here with his first wife, Mabel Cabot Sedgwick, an accomplished horticulturist, gardener, and author of The Garden Month by Month, and his second wife, Marjorie Russell Sedgwick, a rare plants specialist—both of whom created a delightful, enchanting landscape, surrounded by more than 100 acres of woodland. Today, visitors delight in the beauty of Long Hill’s structured and naturalistic gardens as well as a network of woodland trails. A diverse collection of trees, shrubs, and distinctive perennial plants provide color during the growing season, peaking in May and June and providing structure and beauty throughout the year.

“Long Hill was a dream, it felt like a private fairy garden. Gorgeous location and the perfect size for us to take photos privately and guests to explore but not feel too far away (for wrangling from cocktail hour to dinner for example). The Long Hill staff were super communicative and responsive, sometimes a little stressful to work with as it felt like there were a number of restrictions but this really translated to a very stream-lined and well-organized wedding day as they brought up any potential issues early and then on the actual day they were super, super supportive and great to work with. They do have a list of 5 set caterers you need to work with, we were given an exception because of a dietary restriction my in-laws have (need to pay a 1000 fee), but this was tricky as Long Hill expects caterers to take on much more than just food. You'll also want to rent a dance floor (700 in the area) as the under tent area is brick. We had 115 of us total with buffet & dance floor, it was cozy & lovely but any more than 120 would feel tight to me. We were able to have a ceremony for an extra 1000 and then the reception was 5,200 for 5-10 on a Friday. In addition to the gorgeous gardens and beautiful cocktail area off the porch, we could take photos inside which was really lovely and a great break from the heat (our wedding day was 85 and VERY humid). Felt very professionally run and they worked well with my dear friend who was our day-of-coordinator and we just feel extremely grateful to have such a gorgeous location!”

She is a perfectionist in the very best way and took my vision for the event and made it even more beautiful than I imagined. The décor and overall setup were absolutely breathtaking.
