A Dream Wedding at Margeaux Supper Parlor We hosted our engagement party turned wedding at Margeaux Supper Parlor, and it was pure magic. From the moment we stepped inside, we were blown away by the beauty of the space - especially the bar, which created the most stunning backdrop for photos we’ll cherish forever. Rebekah, the owner, and her incredible team thought of everything. From a custom, dairy-free menu (which was so important to me) to specialty passed cocktails and thoughtful service throughout, not a single detail was missed. The private oasis room was the perfect retreat for a quiet moment together during the celebration and added such a personal touch to the evening. And yes, we even sabered champagne! Whether it’s a bridal shower, engagement party, or wedding, we can’t recommend Margeaux enough. It’s a truly special place run by truly special people.

Liza Lavine Photography
Rating: 5.0 (31 reviews)
Cambridge, MA

  • Editorial style

Half documentary. Half editorial. Fully yours. Hi, I’m Liza, a wedding photographer based in Boston, serving couples throughout New England and beyond. With a background in fashion photography, I blend candid storytelling with timeless, editorial-inspired imagery. My goal is to capture your day as it naturally unfolds while creating photographs that feel authentic, timeless, and true to you. Years from now, I want your photographs to do more than show you how your wedding looked—I want them to bring you back to exactly how it felt.

Awarded Best of Zola
Liza photographed our small intimate wedding. From the outset, she set out to make sure the day went smoothly and that we would get the best pictures possible on our special day. We explained to her that our wedding would consist of a very short ceremony and a dinner. The rest of the night would be some games and hanging out, but no dancing. Our original vision was to have her photograph the ceremony, group shots, and the dinner and skip couple portraits. After consulting with her, she recommended skipping the dinner photos (nobody looks good while eating) and photographing the ceremony, group shots, and, since our package left us with a remaining hour, plan for couple portraits before our ceremony. It was great advice and we're happy to have the couple portraits! On the day of she was very approachable and made us feel comfortable during our private session. She was clear when directing and arranging folks for the group photos. All of the pictures turned out great! I would definitely recommend Liza for any wedding or special occasion!

We loved working with Mothership for our rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks! We hosted a rehearsal dinner for about 40 guests that led directly into welcome drinks for about 100 additional guests. People raved about the dinner buffet, bar snacks, delicious cocktails, and friendly waitstaff. The most common things I heard was how good the food was, and how funny and charismatic the servers were. It was so simple to book and pick our menus. 10/10 experience, everyone had such a great time in this flexible and fashionable space.

She is very professional and her quality of work shows. Everyone at our wedding was complimenting our hair and makeup. Our daughter just celebrated her wedding this past weekend at the Kimpton Marlowe, and I can't imagine a more perfect experience! We visited quite a few venues that we loved, but once we found KM and Rachel, we knew we had found our place. I'm not sure where to begin! The planning process was never stressful thanks to Rachel's patience, professionalism and organizational skills. Our daughter lives out of state, and I can only imagine the insane amount of emails that flew back and forth between her and Rachel! She kept us all calm, and we were always confident that the day would be perfect because of her extraordinary efforts. The venue itself has everything a bridal party could want. It's in an accessible location for out of state visitors to explore Boston and Cambridge. The staff are all warm, friendly and eager to help with anything. The price is very reasonable; we had ruled out Boston/Cambridge because of our budget, but KM turned out to be right on target. There is convenient parking on site. We were offered a block of rooms in the hotel for an amazingly good price, so that our guests didn't have to worry about driving after a big party! The food was exceptional, from appetizers to dinner and even late night snacks of pizza, cookies and milk! The reception room was gorgeous and is very easy to work with because of the neutral colors. I think one of our favorite parts was that we had the entire second floor of the hotel to ourselves! The ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and even a room for the bride to retreat when she needed to change was all included. The younger guests danced until the very end, and the "older" parents and guests found a quiet spot to hang out in the lobby area outside of the reception hall, filled with comfortable sofas, chairs and tables. All who attended were happy with the many choices to party, relax and mingle. In my opinion, KM and Rachel are a still a hidden gem in the greater Boston area. I hope this review helps to get the word out that they are the place to go if you are looking for an affordable option with fabulous spaces, delicious food and most of all, an event planner who puts her heart and soul into everything she does. Thank you, KM and Rachel! 3

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Pagu! From the start, the chef and owner Tracy was incredibly responsive and she got back to us right away when we inquired about hosting our wedding at the restaurant. She shared a detailed event order with sample dishes and estimated charges, which really helped us get the ball rolling with our planning. When we were able to visit Boston (we're based out of state), Tracy personally gave us our initial walkthrough. The combination of the restaurant’s cozy interior and beautiful, spacious outdoor patio made Pagu the perfect venue for our 100-guest celebration. One of the biggest reasons we wanted a restaurant wedding was the food, and Pagu absolutely delivered! Amanda and Chris T. took great care of us during our food and drink tastings, and everything was truly fantastic. The string beans, chicken katsu, miso cod, and wagyu beef were standout dishes. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about them! Tracy’s custom hot honey biscuits were also a huge hit as a late-night snack, and both the double chocolate and strawberry cakes were delicious crowd-pleasers. Like many couples, we barely had time to eat during the whirlwind of the day, but we were so happy that Pagu prepared a to-go bag of all of our food and it was all still incredibly delicious, even the next day! As the big day approached, the team answered all our questions promptly and worked closely with us to rearrange the table layout so everyone could be seated comfortably. We held our rehearsal at the venue the day before, and Amanda was incredibly helpful in coordinating everyone and making sure we all felt confident and prepared for the ceremony. The Pagu team also went above and beyond to accommodate our last-minute requests (including pickleback shots and matcha cookie favors), which was deeply appreciated. Everything went off without a hitch on the actual wedding day. The transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner were all totally seamless, thanks to the coordination of Amanda, Chris, and Winson; it was clear that they are all seasoned pros at running a wedding, which helped us relax and enjoy the day worry-free! We can’t recommend Pagu highly enough for a wedding or special event! The food, the space, and, most importantly, the people made our day unforgettable and exceeded all expectations. We were incredibly impressed with the whole team throughout the entire process. There were so many thoughtful touches and interactions that happened throughout the planning and on the day itself. If you're considering a restaurant wedding, you won’t regret choosing Pagu!

Ashlee is a bridal hairstylist with two decades of experience specializing in clean texture, modern updos, and photo-ready finishes. Since 2005, she has styled hundreds of brides across New England, from Boston hotel suites to coastal Newport weekends. She’s appeared at the Oscars and is a multi-year recipient of many awards. Calm, organized, and detail-focused, Ashlee builds timelines, collaborates with vendors, and enhances natural beauty without masking it. When she’s not styling, she’s cuddling her dog or immersed in Bravo drama. Bravo Tagline: Because your wedding hair should hold up better than a Bravo friendship.

I cannot recommend Ashlee enough! I was super worried about finding a hair stylist for my wedding; my bridesmaids knew what they were doing, but my mom, sister, and I all have complicated hair textures with various issues like over bleaching and alopecia. I knew I wanted someone I could trust - someone who would be nonjudgmental, positive, and honest. During my trial with Ashlee, we had pizza and yapped about various topics while we walked through different ideas. I also broke the news to her that I would have a different hair color and extensions on my wedding. Ashlee took it all in stride. On the morning of my wedding, Ashlee came in with my coffee order and immediately lit up the room. Everyone felt comfortable with her and she was such a joy. My sister, who experiences hair loss from medication, felt so beautiful on my wedding day and was able to have her hair done in a style that framed her face and hid any patches. After she was done with our hair, Ashlee stayed an extra couple of hours to do touch ups on my hair during my bridal portraits and even our couples portraits in downtown Boston! She helped me hold my veil and my dress and even took behind the scenes photos for my husband and I to have! Honestly, I can’t say enough wonderful things about Ashlee! You should stop reading this review and just send an inquiry already!

Venue considerations

  • On-site parking not available

We held our wedding reception at the Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, and it was a beautiful venue to host our event. The space was a perfect size for our event with 125 guests, and the ceiling is a showstopper. The building is right on the small city park, Centanni Park, which is such a nice little green space in East Cambridge. The staff was friendly and easy to work with and helped us to create our dream reception. One thing to keep in mind when picking this venue is that you have to select from a list of preferred vendors for catering, and they will need to rent all of the plates, cutlery, glassware, catering supplies etc since the venue does not provide these items. Their list of caterers to choose from is a great list, but the extra cost of these rentals should be remembered when budgeting your event.

Rabbi Jamie Field
Rating: 5.0 (4 reviews)
Cambridge, MA
  • Officiant
  • Offers 4 ceremony types
  • Starts at $1,800

Rabbi Jamie Field was ordained in 2024 from HUC-JIR in New York. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Jamie left the West Coast after high school to attend Boston University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion. She loves creating the perfect wedding ceremony that ties together the stories of the couple with the offerings of the Jewish tradition. In her free time, she enjoys watching Jeopardy, looking for antiques, and perfecting her challah recipe.

Rabbi Jamie officiated our wedding, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. What stood out most was the level of organization and professionalism. Every detail of the ceremony was planned and coordinated with care, so nothing felt left to chance. Rabbi Jamie was very intentional about creating several checkpoints throughout the process and communicating every step of the way. But beyond the logistics, Rabbi Jamie took real time to understand what Mariel and I wanted and needed, and brought a genuine empathy that made the ceremony feel deeply personal. That thoughtfulness and attentiveness made all the difference on our day. Our families still talk about how beautiful the ceremony was! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an officiant who combines skill with real heart.

We celebrated an intimate wedding with 15 family members (14 adults and a baby) at Harvest in their Fireplace room. The day was absolute perfection- the room was spacious yet cozy on a frigid 10 degree day, the service was phenomenal, and the food was spectacular. We were a difficult group to feed; nearly every guest had a unique dietary restriction and Harvest ensured that each guest would remain safe and happy while dining. We will forever cherish this special celebration and look forward to dining at Harvest in the future!

Hope & Love Co.
Rating: 5.0 (3 reviews)
Cambridge, MA
  • Planner
  • Offers 1 service
  • Starts at $400

At Hope & Love Co., we believe weddings should be joyful, not stressful. With years of hospitality and event experience, we're passionate about helping couples feel calm, supported, and fully present on their wedding day.

Let me start by saying - everyone needs a Hope in their corner! My fiancé and I aren’t big party people, but we knew we wanted to celebrate our engagement. Hope helped us conceptualize and execute the BEST (engagement) party I’ve been to! She made the entire process SEAMLESS! Hope’s industry knowledge and experience had her identify potential hiccups in our party planning; things you wouldn’t initially consider. For example, although we were a “no gifts” couple, many people brought gifts anyway and we were unprepared in how to transport these. Hope immediately brought out an XL tote bag before I even recognized the potential issue. It felt like all our needs were anticipated and our glass was never empty! She coordinated with our vendors so we truly had nothing to do day-of except enjoy ourselves. Because of this, my fiancé and I were able to lean into the celebration and did traditions we didn’t initially plan, like a cake-cutting photo op (which is now our favorite picture from the event!). All in all, I’m not sure I would’ve had a good time at my party without Hope & Love Co., but now we have wonderful memories that will last a lifetime! We’re so, so grateful to Hope for making this night unforgettable. 10/10 would recommend her day-of services and consultations!

The food and drinks were delicious, and they were incredibly accommodating with the drop off and pick up of our decor, as well as very helpful with the setup. We were able to have our ceremony in their bakery space which worked out beautifully, then everyone flowed out onto the patio for cocktail hour, and then into the restaurant for dinner & reception—the setup was perfect and everyone raved about how great to atmosphere was. Batifol ensured our special day went off without a hitch, and we are so grateful for their hard work and hospitality.

We loved having our wedding at Alden & Harlow! Our guests are still raving about it and we're still not over how perfect it was. The food is impeccable. Despite serving a huge crowd, the food was as delicious (if not even better?!) as it always is. People are still texting us to tell us they're thinking about our wedding food, which is rare! Just be prepared - if you're doing family style, the pacing is a bit slow. We had 6 family style plates and they came out two at a time over the course of an hour. We had no complaints, just something to consider for your timeline! The staff was super accommodating, friendly, and helpful on the day of our wedding. They set up all of our decor/signage in record time and pulled the space together beautifully. We could tell they were so excited to be hosting a wedding, and they made us feel so special! The bartenders were a hit and the servers were a blast. Despite having a slightly odd shape (the seating in the greenhouse space is separated from the dining room by the long bar), the space is perfect for a wedding. We sat 122 guests comfortably, and still had the entire dance floor space free all night. The dining room is big enough to fit a full dance floor, but small enough that everyone is dancing close together, which was exactly what we wanted! Also worth noting we did our first look upstairs at Longfellow bar before they opened and the space and team was wonderful there, too. The photos turned out amazing. My only word of caution is to keep in mind that this is not a traditional wedding venue. Since they don't do a ton of weddings here, it's not as simple of a process as it might be at other venues. We had to do some of the leg work to figure out the seating chart, the timeline, and the menus, and sometimes we'd go a few months without hearing back from the team there. This was all totally fine for us, but it might not be everyones cup of tea. Some of the more unique elements of the wedding actually turned out to be our favorites: we sat at the bar with a bunch of our friends for dinner, almost everyone had to stand for the ceremony, and the people seated in the greenhouse stood on the dance floor for speeches/first dances since they wouldn't be able to see/hear from their seats. These all made the whole night feel so casual and fun and intimate, which was exactly what we wanted. Overall, we absolutely ADORED the team at Alden and genuinely couldn't be more grateful to them for helping us throw the best party of our lives. I can't imagine getting married anywhere else!!! The food, drinks, atmosphere, and team are all 1000/10. If you're open to getting creative and putting in a little work to throw an iconic city wedding, then you should ABSOLUTELY get married here!!
