Kimpton Marlowe is The Best
The Kimpton Marlowe team is the Dream Team. Rachel Barlaam is the "fairy Godmother" for weddings. She makes sure that your dreams and wishes come true. With Rachel's expertise and professionalism, I never felt stressed or overwhelmed during my wedding planning. She is also quick with responding to emails that any question or linger thoughts I had were quickly resolved within a day! On the day of my wedding, the Kimpton Marlowe staff made sure everything went smoothly. There was not one hiccup during the day. Everyone says that there is at least one thing that may not go accordingly during your wedding day, but I can say that I had the PERFECT wedding. The day after my wedding, everything was nicely packed and organized for me to bring home. I did not have to worry about anything at the end of the night. Everything from the beginning to the end was taken care of and my only regret is that I cannot relive the moment!
Charming and Central Wedding Location
We throughly enjoyed hosting our wedding at The Kimpton Marlowe. The atmosphere was light, refreshing and offered many pockets of spaces to have intimate conversations with our guests. Rachel is an amazing on-site coordinator. She was always on top of things, walked us through every detail and worked alongside us to help us realize our vision. In terms of food, the options are plenty and innovative. The portions are generous and the inclusion of an open bar in our package was a hit with our guests. The serving staff were very friendly and made sure our guests needs were attended to. Last but not least, the location is very convenient, being beside the picturesque Charles River and Esplanade.
Beyond Perfect Experience!
I cannot say enough about how incredible our experience was getting married at Kimpton Marlowe. Their coordinator, Rachel Barlaam, was available to us every step of the way. She gave us our initial tour, answered all our questions throughout the planning process, guided us through our tasting and planning out logistics, managed our room block, helped with welcome bag and decor drop off, and was there to make sure everything ran smoothly on the day of our wedding. Her communication, organization, and attention to detail are outstanding and made the whole process so easy. The space itself is gorgeous. Recent renovations have left plenty of character (e.g. beautiful tilework in the lobby, spiral staircase great for photos), while giving everything a fresh feel and keeping it neutral enough to be a great backdrop for any decor. We loved having the entire second floor reserved for our event and how easy it was to transition between the different spaces for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Plus having the guest rooms right upstairs meant less moving around for our older guests and we didn't have to worry about people driving back at night. The location is fabulous and the beautiful courtyard sets the entrance back from the street which makes a huge difference in the feel as well as the logistics of loading/unloading people and things. Our guests raved to us about how good the food was. We loved the range of options available to us and everything came out delicious and plentiful. Catering staff were so professional and attentive during the event. Plus soaking in the big tub in the bridal suite at the end of the night and looking out at the gorgeous view of the city were a perfect end to the day. The overall vibe at Kimpton Marlowe is so friendly and warm. It feels like a small boutique hotel. It doesn't feel corporate or cookie-cutter at all. This is partially due to some of their amenities like free coffee in the morning and wine in the evening, dogs being welcome, the cozy bar area downstairs, etc. But also due to their incredible staff. Every single person we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Staff consistently went above and beyond to provide an excellent experience for us and our guests. (Just one example - a member of the catering team remembered that a certain guest was gluten-free and found her at our brunch the next day to offer her gluten-free options). I really cannot recommend this venue enough. It was beyond perfect and if I had to do it all over I would 100% book here again!!
THE WEDDING DREAM
We recently had our wedding at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the beautiful venue to the flawless execution, everything exceeded our expectations. A huge part of that was thanks to our incredible wedding coordinator, Rachel Barlaam. Rachel is a true gem—organized, calm, and so dedicated. She executed every detail perfectly and made the entire planning process feel seamless. I can’t express how grateful I am for her expertise, professionalism, and warmth. She truly went above and beyond to make our day special, and it showed in every moment. If you’re considering the Kimpton Marlowe for your wedding, I wholeheartedly recommend it—and especially working with Rachel. She made all the difference.
