Hi there! I'm Scottie, a filmmaker and photographer based in Brooklyn. My business began when the world fell apart in 2020 and I could no longer find work in the film industry. I turned to weddings as a way to put my skills to work for couples to memorialize their special day. I started out shooting intimate ceremonies on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, and have since expanded to weddings of all sizes on the East Coast.

Weddings are magical occasions where two people come together to celebrate their love and commitment to each other. My father always encouraged me to pursue my passion for film, and when he passed in 2014, I started Marinelli Moving Pictures, a video production company with his name (and mine) on the masthead. A decade later, what started as a side jobs between dance gigs has turned into a full fledged business. Turns out I'm even happier behind the camera than in front of it!

I started Mariafilms to give a name and materialize my passion for filmmaking and storytelling. I started doing weddings after understanding how much I loved working with people and portraying feelings and emotions through the lens.
