I am a New York City-based videographer and editor. As a wedding filmmaker, my priority is showcasing the feeling of the day. I use my love of documentary and fantasy to guide my eye throughout a wedding so when you sit down, you’re not just watching a glossy, dramatic video of your day, but a time capsule that brings you back to how it felt to be there.

I go with the flow while embracing the personalities of the couple and their loved ones. I keep my footprint small so the focus stays on the events of the day rather than the cameras that are capturing it.

    Loved working with Jess!!

    Jess was absolutely incredible! She captured what we couldn’t experience at our wedding, interviewing our friends and family to hear about their perspective of the day. We watch the video every year on our anniversary and it makes me glow with happiness every time. She gives the perfect mix of capturing the big moments, and also those little moments our guests experienced that we may missed if not for her beautiful videography. Cannot recommend her enough!!

    Reliving Moments

    Jess Lazar Video is an absolute pleasure to work with for wedding videography. Her communication style is collaborative, inclusive, discreet, helpful, and kind throughout the entire process. A huge bonus is that Jess is a licensed drone photographer, which means you get to follow her on her adventures around your wedding venue and the surrounding area, adding instant cinematic flair to the final product. Jess has a fantastic cinematic eye, and I absolutely love the way she follows couples into the light and includes nature, architecture, and a "sense of place" in her work. She's also a top-notch editor and overall wonderful human! I love the way Jess layers audio with living snapshots of the day, which really calls forth the emotion that you felt in the moment - the main reason to invest in videography. She tells the couple's story through setting, connection, and beautiful detail work in addition to capturing all the moments you hope to see in a traditional wedding film.

Once you know your wedding date, I recommend reaching out as soon as possible about availability. I film a limited number of weddings every year to ensure our couples receive the highest quality service, so the calendar can fill up months in advance.
Yes! I'm happy to send a copy of our certificate of liability insurance to your venue or any other vendors upon request.
I will personally be editing each of your wedding videos.
I often shoot the day solo. I believe it helps to keep the day feeling intimate. However, if you’re having a larger wedding with 100 or more guests, I'd recommend booking an additional videographer to ensure coverage of all your loved ones and each special moment.
Unfortunately, as I craft handmade love documentaries and edit them personally, I do not do same or next-day editing. I believe a longer editing process allows for more creative and personalized videos.
