We're Adam and Courtney, a husband and wife wedding photography team based in Austin, Texas and available for weddings worldwide. Our style blends documentary and editorial: candid, story-driven images with the timeless polish that makes them feel like heirlooms. For the past seven years, what we've loved most about this work is the people. Getting to know each couple, earning their trust, and showing up on one of the most important days of their life ready to serve them wholeheartedly. Our couples tell us having us by their side feels like home, and that's the highest compliment we could receive. We'd be honored to be part of your story.

    Wedding photography

    We are SO happy we chose The Shens for our wedding photography. First of all, the photos themselves are absolutely stunning. Every image is so crisp, vibrant, and beautifully composed. The colors are gorgeous without feeling over edited, and somehow every photo feels both polished and natural at the same time. But honestly, what impressed me most was the level of care and attention to detail Courtney put into the editing. She went above and beyond removing distractions from the background and tiny details that most people probably wouldn’t even notice, like exit signs, air vents, random people in the background, and even a stain on my dress. And she didn’t just do this for portraits or major moments. She clearly took the same care with candid guest photos and all the little in-between moments too. You can tell how much pride she takes in her work and how much she genuinely wants every single image to be the best it can possibly be. I know that level of editing takes a huge amount of time and effort, and it made such a difference in the final gallery. Beyond the quality of the photos, Adam and Courtney were also just wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. They were calm, thoughtful, organized, and easy to be around on a day that can otherwise feel stressful. We genuinely could not recommend them more highly.

    We would give them 1000 stars if we could!

    From the very beginning, they felt like so much more than photographers. They brought incredible energy, peace, joy, and intentionality into our wedding day, and honestly became such a grounding presence for us throughout the entire experience. One thing that meant so much to us personally was how supported we felt emotionally. Wedding days can be overwhelming, and I experienced some pretty intense anxiety before the ceremony. Courtney and Adam were calm, encouraging, and genuinely caring in a way that helped us stay present and enjoy the day. They truly felt like trusted friends walking alongside us the entire time. And then there are the PHOTOS. We were absolutely blown away. Every image feels alive. They captured not just what the day looked like, but what it felt like. All the joy, the emotion, the movement, the laughter, the worship, the candid in-between moments, all of it. Looking through our gallery genuinely felt like reliving the entire wedding day from start to finish. Their sneak peeks had us speechless while we were on our honeymoon. We kept saying how perfectly they captured every meaningful moment, from emotional reactions during the ceremony to tiny candid interactions we never even noticed happening. Some of our favorite images are the ones we never would have thought to ask for. They somehow anticipated and preserved every beautiful moment. Beyond their talent, Courtney and Adam care deeply about people. They brought so much warmth, encouragement, and genuine love into our wedding day, and that impacted us just as much as the photos themselves. We truly cannot imagine anyone else photographing our wedding, and we will recommend them to every couple we know. Hiring them was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.

    We Cannot Imagine Our Wedding Without Them

    We truly cannot imagine our wedding day without The Shens Photography! From our very first consult call, they made my husband and me feel so celebrated, cared for, and genuinely excited about our day. That feeling only continued throughout the entire wedding day. They brought such positive, calming, and joyful energy to every moment. Not only are they incredibly kind people, but they are also unbelievably hardworking. Yes. We're based in Austin, Texas and regularly photograph weddings outside of Texas, including in Virginia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and beyond. Our travel collections include everything (flights, lodging, rental car, and in-between logistics) in one flat rate so there are no hidden fees or back-and-forth on logistics. When you reach out, just mention your venue or wedding location and we'll send over the right pricing guide for you.
You'll receive between 600 and 1,000+ fully edited high-resolution images depending on your collection and coverage hours. Every image is individually edited and retouched, and you'll have full personal printing rights so you can print, share, and display them however you'd like. We deliver 50 to 100 sneak peeks within 48 hours of your wedding day so you can relive it right away, and your full gallery arrives within 6 to 8 weeks through your own personal online gallery.
Yes, you always get both of us at every wedding. That's the heart of what makes our experience different. Adam brings calm, steady leadership and quietly handles the logistics behind the scenes. Courtney brings genuine energy and helps you feel at ease in front of the camera. Two photographers also means twice the angles and twice the moments captured, so you're not missing the groom's reaction during the ceremony while we're focused on you walking down the aisle.
It starts with a free consultation call where we get to know you, hear your vision, and recommend the collection that fits your day. From there, a signed contract and 50% retainer secures your date. We take on a limited number of weddings each year, so the earlier you reach out, the better.
Yes. We know wedding photography is a meaningful investment, so all of our collections are split into three payments. Your first payment is a 50% non-refundable retainer due when you sign the contract, which secures your date on our calendar. Your second payment (25% of the total) is due 3 months before your wedding, and your final payment (the remaining 25%) is due 2 weeks before. We're happy to walk through the payment schedule on our consultation call if you have any questions.
The earlier the better. We take on a limited number of weddings each year and our most popular dates (Saturdays in spring and fall) tend to book 9 to 12 months out. If your wedding is during peak season, we'd recommend reaching out as soon as you have your venue secured. That said, we always keep some flexibility for shorter timelines, so don't hesitate to inquire even if your wedding is a few months away.
The call is about 30 minutes on Zoom and there's zero pressure to book. We'll ask about your wedding day, your vision, what's most important to you, and any concerns you have. We'll walk you through how we work, answer all of your questions, and recommend the collection that fits your day.
