From the moment we met Mary, we knew we wanted her to capture our special day. She is an amazing human and incredibly talented - I mean, just look at her work and it says it all! Her photography style is just beautiful. From the start, Mary was very in-tune with us and truly listened to what our vision was and then brought it to life even better than we could have imagined. She was by our side throughout the entire process, even including on our wedding day, beyond just capturing the moment, she was helping guide us through the day. Mary was truly our favorite “vendor” that was part of our wedding day - we got excited every time we were going to talk to her ahead of our wedding and we were ecstatic when we finally got to meet her IRL - she is just such a cool & talented human! Now that it’s all over, we’re so thankful to have the amazing photography that Mary captured, which we will be able to look back on for the rest of our lives. Thank you Mary, for being such an important part of our day and for capturing our day.

I can’t speak this companies praises enough. From the beginning of booking, the communication was incredible. We requested Agnes for our wedding photographer and were delighted to get her. Both our photographer and DJ were booked through them. They walked you through planning call stages prior to our wedding. Both our photographer Agnes and our DJ Mark Allan called us directly to confirm details, and go over timelines and our direct requests. We were impressed with Agnes from start to finish of our day. She communicated well, gave amazing direction, and did her very best with our rowdy group full of kids and ensured that we could get pictures that will last a lifetime. She kept us comfortable, calm, at ease and still managed to make the experience incredible regardless of the rain. DJ Mark Allan was everything we were hoping for. Organized, timely, and fun. He was very helpful with helping us get messages out to the guests, playing the brides most requested songs, and keeping the guests and vibe fun and exciting. He was amazing and loved having him as our wedding DJ.

We booked George to capture our wedding day at an outdoor venue in northern MA. As a photographer myself I have high standards when it comes to photos, so I was very selective when making my choice. But I'm happy to report that we made a great choice with George as his work is top notch. Before the wedding we had 2 phone calls to plan out the many scenes we'd want him to capture. We also shared some light guidance on editing style, which he happily incorporated. On the day of the wedding George arrived promptly (early even, which was good) despite the fact he was driving many hours from CT. George did a great job making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. He seemed very experienced as throughout the day he seamlessly transitioned from the foreground to the background as needed. He was never in the way, but always nearby and ready to jump in and capture whatever was happening. He also captured a variety of types of shots, from the wide, establishing shots to the perfectly composed closeups of intimate moments - with lots of extra detail shots and plenty of candids too. For the ceremony in particular, he displayed his great eye and quick reaction time to document every moment and every angle, including crowd reactions. He came well prepared too with 2 Sony mirrorless cameras and a large off-camera flash to ensure even lighting. From our 8-hour shoot he provided over 1,400 fully edited photos (each 61MP) via a Google Drive download link. We were extremely please with the quality and speed of our portfolio (fully delivered within 2 weeks). On top of that, George happily provided me with the full edited portfolio in TIFF file format, per my request. The file sizes are much larger so I gave him a 512GB USB drive which he loaded and shipped back to me. I really can't say enough good things about George. So just book him now and I know you'll be pleased with the results!

Eddie (and his equally wonderful assistant) brought such an easygoing, joyful energy to our wedding. From the first hello, he made everyone feel comfortable and confident, and his presence added to the fun rather than feeling staged or stressful. The day ran seamlessly, and they captured everything beautifully without interrupting the moments. We also had a rainy engagement shoot, and Eddie handled it like a pro—cool, encouraging, and creative. The final gallery blew us away: cinematic compositions, natural expressions, and images that made us look our best while telling the story of our day. If you want talent, professionalism, and a photographer who genuinely elevates the experience, book Eddie.

You know that all encompassing feeling when you’re revisiting a vivid memory? You can smell the fresh air, feel the way the sun hits your face just so, hear the voice of the loved one next to you, remember the joke that they delivered and instantly you’re laughing all over again. That magic is what I hope to capture as your photographer. It’s my job to hold those moments in time so that they don’t have to fade. You’ll forever be able to revisit the moment, see the exact way they smiled, revisit that incredible sunset, relive the memory and turn back time.

Hiring Jess was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding, period! From the first time we met, Jess showed genuine care, attention, and excitement about who we are and our special day. Our work kicked off together during an engagement shoot at Coney Island. She went above and beyond-driving 5 hours from the Hudson Valley to meet us at our dream location. We spent the night together, and she never made us feel like we were on the clock. Jess is truly so generous with her time. Our wedding day was of course, even more special. Taking photos with my husband, Jess, and her brilliant second shooter were some of the best moments of our day. Jess went above and beyond her role of photographer - making sure our special people looked tidy, keeping us all on schedule, and ensuring we were well fed and hydrated throughout the day. What really stood out is the care she showed for my loved ones: a family member with autism, and my 97-year-old grandma; having adjusted the schedule to accommodate them. We received a highlights gallery within days of our wedding, and the full album within 2 months (gratefully before Thanksgiving so we could reminisce over the holiday with our loved ones). Before our wedding, I walked through my Pinterest board with Jess. I see so much of what we discussed shine through in our photos. I am so impressed with Jess' attention to detail and diversity in portfolio - from documentary style to editorial shots. Finally, Jess has great knowledge of our venue, Bear Mountain Inn and the accompanying state park. She took us to incredible hidden pockets in the woods, and navigated to the more heavily trafficked viewpoints with expertise. We are so grateful to Jess for capturing our day with so much warmth and love. Hiring Jess is the best decision you'll make in wedding planning! 3

Matthew Rigby Photography
Rating: 5.0 (25 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $4,000
  • Serves Big Indian, NY

I'm Matthew, a wedding photographer based in Garrison, NY. With a decade as a wedding photographer and 15 years as an educator, I bring two things to every wedding: the ability to document moments as they happen, and the calm to handle whatever the day brings. I prepare carefully, communicate beforehand, and stay present when it's busy. My style is mostly documentary. I blend into the wedding, observing and documenting moments as they happen rather than staging them. Feedback I hear most often is that couples weren't aware of me, but that I got everything. I work with all couples and celebrate every kind of love, and every kind of marriage.

Awarded Best of Zola
We are so grateful we booked Matthew for our wedding photography. His thoughtfulness, professionalism, and organization were exactly what we were looking for. His eye for scenery and lighting also really set him apart. Throughout our wedding journey, his thoughtful planning helped set a timeline for our big day. He listened to what we wanted, and his personalized schedule allowed for plenty of time with our guests while also composing beautiful shots. On the day of the wedding, he made us feel comfortable just being ourselves and blended seamlessly into the background when needed. He also did not hesitate to suggest the small adjustments we needed to make a beautiful shot. We truly meant it when we told him we were most excited to work with him out of all of the vendors, and we would book him again and again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Matthew!

From when we chatting on Facebook to our first zoom meeting, we fell in love with Lisa. Her energy and kindness put me at ease. She was always responsive with answering every question. She commanded the day of the wedding. She even fixed my veil when I got to the ceremony. I was clueless on what I wanted. She helped every step of the way. She is one of the nicest people I have met and made me so calm throughout the wedding. I'm obsessed with our photos. Her passion for photography really shines. She had some challenges because my husband is over a foot and a half taller than me. She was able to get some amazing shots. She was able to photograph everyone from an early ceremony to dusk. She was right out there on the dance floor. She captured so many amazing moments. Lisa's photos are helping me relive this magical day. We are 2 people who don't like our photos taken. Lisa worked worked so well with us. Putting us at ease. I love candid shots and she got so many. She made sure we stayed on track. She went above and beyond to make sure our day was special and our photos are a great way to remember that day. I couldn't have asked for anything better. We have received so many compliments. I will always cherish Lisa and what she did for us.

A good friend of mine has said that my brand is to care. She isn’t wrong-my brand is one of caring because my being is one of caring. I’ve been a wedding photog for 14+ yrs. I find that being a wedding photog is a gift - I barely have the words to describe how special it feels to be invited into clients’ most momentous & intimate wedding moments over & over again. I’m a champion for the weird & whimsical, the fun & funky - even & especially on wedding days. Plan your day the way you want to, trends be damned. Let your wedding day reflect your joy. That’s what we’re all there to celebrate, anyway. ✨

Awarded Best of Zola
We cannot recommend Sweet Alice Photography enough!!!! If you are getting married in the Hudson Valley area, you won’t find a more professional, personable or talented photographer than Erica! When we decided to spend our lives together, we knew we wanted a wedding that was an authentic presentation of who we were; a celebration of two families coming together that was filled with color and nature. We called upon family and close friends to help us with their talents for many elements of our wedding, but knew we needed a professional behind the lens to capture our big day. Erica at Sweet Alice Photography seemed like the perfect fit for us. Her honest and candid photos tell a story that feels real without excessive filtering. We felt so comfortable working with Erica. She was cheerful, communicative and accommodating through every step of the process. Regular email updates and words of encouragement arrived in our inboxes unprompted, and even when we had to make a last minute venue change she was so incredibly supportive. She really felt like part of the family! We loved the preview shots she sent us within days of the ceremony and couldn’t wait to share them with all our guests. We were surprised to receive all our images so quickly and in an adorable gift box with the coolest flash drive!!!

This is delightfully different elopement + wedding photography! From helicopter elopements and lakeside wedding bashes to hiking engagements to weddings with bouncy houses, I capture the adventurous, quirky, and unique. Based in both New York + California, with travel worldwide, I've photographed couples on 6 continents. My creative, fun, & candid photography uses innovative techniques and unique ideas to get photos that make you look twice. Whether you're saying vows in your backyard or having a 3-day adventure wedding in the rainforest, I'll catch every spontaneous moment of joy and laughter—and plan a few unique shots on top of it all.

Awarded Best of Zola
Kathryn has been a friend of mine for 20 years, so I've been following her growing business and incredible adventures around the globe for a long time. When I got engaged, I knew exactly who I wanted to do our engagement and wedding photos! Not only is she fantastic to work with, she loves opportunities for creativity and "outside the box" moments. I loved the idea of playing with light at night, so she found a color-changing light device to create incredible backgrounds for our night photos! I also loved that we hardly knew she and her second were there during the ceremony. She's sneaky and still gets the most beautiful photos! I cannot recommend my beautiful friend enough, especially if you're looking for someone LGBTQ friendly! Unfortunately, Google is not letting me upload photos, but please check out her website to see samples of her amazing work!

Julia is a wizard. She is a fairy. She is a magical being that was sent from another realm to make us feel like the most special people on our special day. Wedding planning can be stressful, but spending time with Julia means putting all those stresses behind and falling in love with your partner again. She manages to get the most intimate shots while making sure we’re completely comfortable and happy. We thought a good while over who we were going to pick for our photographer and with unbelievable luck we chose the best photographer in the Hudson Valley. Completely outstanding, 10/10, we will be hiring her for all life events. From our first conversation with her, prior to the engagement shoot and prior to real wedding planning, it was clear that she was the right choice as she made us feel secure and made it clear that she had a vision that aligned with ours. Julia made our wedding dream come true and immortalized in her photos, there is absolutely no one we would recommend over her. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not hiring her for your wedding.

I'm a full time wedding photographer based out of Middletown, NY and over the past 10+ years I've photographed over 350 weddings. My style is very relaxed with an emphasis on natural and organic posing ideas which don't feel awkward or weird while keeping the photography experience really fun.

We instantly knew we made the right decision bringing in Leo of the Polished Portrait to our wedding team. Leo is efficient, knowledgeable, talented, and very easy to work with. During the photo portion of our wedding, he made my wife and I feel confident and kept it a light fun vibe. During the reception, Leo had faded Into the background in the best way possible. Have you ever been to a wedding when a photographer would do anything to get the shot including getting in the way of other guests? Well that’s not Leo! He was courteous and respectful to all the guests and picked his spots to get incredible shots. My wife and I would highly recommend him as an amazing photographer.

I hold a special place in my heart for intimate weddings, destination weddings, elopements, and anything in nature. I believe in the happy coexistence between posed and candid photography, and live for them both. I thrive off of positive energy and always promise to bring my own. For each couple I work with, I create a detailed and extensive timeline, posed list, and photo itinerary to ensure a smooth, relaxing, organized, and absolutely magical day. I’ve got a case of wanderlust and adore nature. Let’s explore.

Awarded Best of Zola
Working with Caitlinn for our wedding was an AMAZING experience. We couldn’t be happier with our photos! I told her from the get go that my fiancé (now husband!) and I never take good photos, but she assured me that our photos would look natural and not overly posed, which is what we wanted. Caitlinn responded promptly to every email and worked with us to create an efficient timeline for our very large family and bridal party. We had four small children in our bridal party and Caitlinn handled them like an expert and got some amazing shots of all of them! She is incredibly organized and best of all, we received a “sneak preview” of our photo gallery one or two days after the wedding, and the entire photo gallery within a week of the wedding! And the pictures, OMG are they beautiful. The hardest part is choosing which photos to put in our album - they are all that good! (But we get to keep the full digital photo gallery which is being displayed on a digital frame). I particularly appreciated how “unobtrusive” her style is - especially during the very emotional moments like our first look - we didn’t “feel” like we were being photographed so we were able to enjoy the moment and act naturally. She captured all of the big moments and the small details too and her artistic eye created beautiful shots of everything from getting ready all the way to the cake cutting and everything in between. Caitlinn is also an incredibly lovely person - her energy carries through in everything she does, and we felt so comfortable from her right from the get go. Truly I can’t say enough about this wonderful photographer and person - she created beautiful memories for us that we will cherish forever.

Chris and Chrissy were incredible! My wife and I are so thankful they were not only able to capture our wedding, but make taking photos an enjoyable and smooth experience. We cannot recommend them enough! Every picture is more beautiful than the last, and they thought of everything! Every combo, every angle, every time of day. They made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and took pictures that will last a lifetime. We cannot thank them enough for everything. While we already knew they were the right choice for us when we first chatted, on the big day, they confirmed that they were the slam dunk, best choice to be our photographers.

Hey! I'm Nina. I'm a pretty energetic and charismatic person that loves love and enjoys life. Documenting through photo is my favorite thing on this planet. I've been a professional photographer since 2016 but really I've been invested in photography since I was 15 years old. My love for documenting moments came from a desire to capture my own life and that of my friends using disposable cameras, flip phone cameras and point and shoot digital cameras on beach trips with friends. I have used writing, art, and photo to document my life and it is an incredibly special thing to be able to share that with my clients.

Short story long. We got married in September 2025 on a bright and somewhat cloudy day in a Historic Lodge in Hudson Valley. Nina was our ONLY photographer that day. I don't know too much about photography, but I do know that on our wedding day the lighting in the building and the grounds was varied and difficult to navigate. I highlight this because the photos that Nina captured and edited were BEYOND SPECTACULAR. Aside from being extremely talented, she was incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout the day. She provided us structure prior to the day, but made everything seem seamless and effortless the day of the Wedding. I highly recommend Nina for literally every occasion. I guarantee she will be documenting every life event of ours for the rest of our lives. Thank you so much Nina!

We had the pleasure of working with Tara for a mutual client recently, and it was a great experience! Tara was responsive, personable, and professional throughout. She thoughtfully shared preview and completed photo albums with us right away, and her work is beautiful! Thanks Tara for capturing the spirit of the day (and our venue!) so perfectly! Two Upper West Siders. Twenty blocks apart. How had we not crossed paths before? Or did we? Well, after finally matching on Hinge we made that happen and the rest is history! We have combined families and now as a family of 7 (three dogs, two cats) we have become an unstoppable force. We both share the same passion for photography, capturing the beauty all around us and making magic happen. Our dog Lucy, embodies love, kindness and poise. We couldn’t imagine naming our business after anyone but her. That’s how Love, Lucy Photography came to be.

I'm Carroll, a photographer for those who love to live a happy, fun life! I'm married to the most amazing man and together we hike, travel, eat a lot of Chinese food, and watch WAY too many Friends reruns (which explains my crazy love for coffee). I'm also a fur-mom to the two most adorable (and spoiled) little fur-babies, Levi and Chloe. The more you get to know me, you’ll realize how much I love the simple moments of life and to make the most of it all!

Carroll is the absolute best! She photographed our wedding in May 2023 and she truly exceeded our expectations. From the beginning stages of planning and our engagement shoot to our wedding day, she was responsive, caring, friendly and so excited to be with us - she felt like a friend throughout the whole process! Carroll captured all of the true emotions and special moments of the day, both in the candid and the posed photos. We can feel all of the love and happiness of our wedding day just by looking at the photos. She also made us feel so comfortable, we were able to enjoy the day without feeling like we were always being photographed which was really important to us. Carroll provided us an amazing gallery that we will cherish forever. We could not be happier with Carroll and her incredible work - we will forever recommend her!

Ahh you made it this far and I am so happy that you are here. Come get to know me a little bit better… I am a Hudson Valley photographer who occasionally dips their toes in NJ too. Having fun and capturing special moment with your loved ones and families is what makes my day. I am a girl mom to my favorite tiny human RyRy and a fire fighters’ wife and when you don’t see me behind a camera or working my full-time job as a graphic designer, I am usually soaking up the sun at the beach or outdoors doing something fun with my family.

From our first conversation with Katie Ellen Photography, we knew we'd made the right choice. Katie was responsive to every question we had and paid close attention to all the details that mattered to us, while keeping the whole process fun and stress-free. On our wedding day, she captured beautiful pictures that we'll treasure forever, and she went above and beyond by being helpful with so many little things that made the day run smoothly. The quality of her work is phenomenal, and the whole experience felt easy from start to finish. We can't recommend Katie Ellen Photography enough to any couple looking for a photographer who truly cares about getting it right.

I grew up in Amagansett, NY, one town away from Montauk, hanging out at the ocean, riding horses, and photographing my plastic Breyer horse models in different scenarios with my little crappy film camera, always searching for the perfect light. I have since moved on to photographing people with better equipment and I still always search for that perfect light. I now live in the lovely Hudson Valley after a long stint in NYC and Brooklyn where I trained under fashion and editorial photographers before starting my own photography business almost 20 years ago. Full disclosure, I'm a little scared of the ocean.

Cappy Hotchkiss Photography was an absolute delight to work with for our wedding. From the moment we first connected, their communication style was friendly, responsive, and clear. They took the time to understand our vision and made sure we felt at ease throughout the entire process. The quality of their work is truly exceptional - their photos have a nostalgic, natural, and emotional quality that perfectly captured the spirit of our special day. Cappy's skill and creativity shone through, even in the challenging backgrounds of our intimate venue in Greenport. They beautifully documented every moment, from the getting ready shots to the ceremony and reception. The final images are timeless, memorable, and absolutely perfect. We couldn't be happier with the results and highly recommend Cappy Hotchkiss Photography to any couple looking for an exceptional wedding photographer.
