About Nick Collingwood Vintage

Nick Collingwood Vintage

Cinematographer/Photographer

I'm Nick, an NYC based filmmaker that loves shooting on film and embracing the serendipitous nature of the format. To me, capturing life on film is a classic, unique and beautiful experience that isn’t shared with digital. I have used Polaroids, Super 8 and other film formats to capture my life and others as well. These are images to cherish forever so why not make them unique, nostalgic and awesome!

Whether it’s weddings or fashion, I love that film is different. I aim to create images and films that aren’t cheesy or hyper-real but instead are gorgeous one-of-a-kind works, imperfections and all. Reach out via my website and we can discuss your wedding more!

Super 8 is the motion picture successor to 8mm film with improved image quality and ability to use cartridges with roughly 3 minutes of film inside. It's what most home movies were filmed on in the 60s and 70s before VHS came along. Think "The Wonder Years" intro.
It used to be that you'd need a projector to watch a Super 8 film but now, the films are developed then scanned into a high-resolution video file you can view on any device.
Highlight films are around 4-5 minutes long. As far as uncut footage, it depends on the package you select as a single roll of Super 8 lasts just 3 minutes. Super 8 is shot in short snippets so the rolls last longer than you'd think.
Think... a mixture of your grandfather and a professional. Smart enough not to miss the important moments but still give it the casual charm of old Super 8 home movies.
