Shankara Srikantan

Hi! I'm Shankara and I've been playing Indian music with my band at weddings and corporate events for five years now. I grew up training in Indian classical and ghazal singing for 20 years, and in the meantime began playing Bollywood/Kollywood and light music wth my band. I, and my band, are quite versatile. We render everything from ghazals and vintage Bollywood to danceable modern hits with respect to each style.

We play as a live band, which is a totally different experience than what you'd get with a DJ or a singer playing to karaoke tracks! We never play a fully scripted set, always feeling out the crowd and reading the room, getting people to sing along with classics, and adding our own improvisations and twists on well-known songs.
