We LOVED having our wedding at Stroudsmoor, and my husband and I are so grateful we chose them for our wedding day. We got married at Ridgecrest venue and had Malia as our coordinator. Not only was she SO helpful and communicative leading up to the big day, on our wedding day Malia ensured that the staff and other venders were coordinated and on schedule and managed all kitchen/food service as well. Every staff member at Stroudmoor demonstrated quality service, professional conduct, and incredible kindness and consideration for not only my husband and I but for our entire bridal party and guests. My guests were all raving about the hors d'oeuvres - many people telling me they're the best they have ever had, and can confirm they were all delicious. We cannot say enough great things about this venue. (also Ridgecrest was STUNNING, the landscape and setting is beautiful for photos)

We couldn’t have been happier with our experience at Deity. The space is really eclectic in the best way. It balances elegance with a little Brooklyn quirk, especially in the cocktail hour room, which all of our guests loved. From start to finish, the planning process was simple and straightforward. You have one big meeting where everything gets laid out. After that, Anastasia, Caio, and the rest of the team were always quick to respond to emails when we needed to make adjustments. They were professional, organized, and made sure both we and our families felt taken care of throughout the day. Having almost everything in-house (e.g., everything less flowers, cake, photography) also made the whole process less stressful. Compared to other venues we looked at, Deity felt like a value and a way to make our guests feel like they were having an "authentic" NYC/Brooklyn wedding. The food and drinks were another highlight. The short rib was especially memorable, and the bar staff worked with us to create custom cocktails and pre-batch them so no one was stuck waiting in line. The DJ was flexible with our specific music tastes and vision for the evening and collaborated seamlessly when we brought in a drag queen for dinner, which turned into a huge hit with our guests. I’d also recommend booking the couple’s suite. It gave us a place to relax, get ready, and even host a pool party that added a really fun element to the day! Relaxing with our wedding guests earlier in the day was a really great way to connect with folks. Overall, Deity delivered on every level. We’re grateful to Anastasia, Caio, and the whole team for making our wedding day everything we hoped it would be.

We couldn't be happier with how our wedding at the Chicago Winery turned out! We booked our date before CW construction was fully complete, but we loved everything about the space from the very beginning. It is an incredibly warm and inviting venue that was perfect for our day - we absolutely loved the ceremony/reception space but also really enjoyed having the terrace space for cocktail hour and as a quieter area during the reception for guests to step out while the band was playing. We had about 170 people at our event, and it was the perfect number for the space. One of the big selling points for us was that CW handles all food and drink onsite and everything was WONDERFUL. One of the top compliments we received from guests was how good the food was. The CW team made us feel special and celebrated throughout the entire process and were very flexible and accommodating based on our various needs. We had the pleasure of working with Hulda, the CW event coordinator, in the months leading up to our wedding and cannot say enough great things about her!! Hulda was very responsive and easy to communicate with. She answered all of our random questions and made us feel at ease with all of the details. The day-of event staff was also so excellent – everyone was so nice and clearly working so hard to keep everything moving. We are so grateful for the awesome CW event team!

We could not have asked for a better experience at the Villa. This venue checked all of our boxes- food and alcohol service, an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour space, and an elegant and open reception space. The food was amazing and we continue to receive compliments on it even weeks after our wedding. The staff at this venue, from our day-of coordinator (shout out to Ellen) down to the waitstaff, know exactly what they're doing and how to make a wedding run smoothly. Ellen was a rockstar throughout the entire planning process - communicative, responsive, and professional, and helped the day run seamlessly even when things got a bit chaotic. We even had a wedding attendant that kept us and the bridal party fed and provided drinks throughout transitional times. From the second we set foot on the venue to the second we left, we knew we were taken care of and didn't have to worry about a thing. We truly cannot recommend this venue enough!

My husband and I got married at The Sanctuary last weekend and had the time of our lives! We fell in love with the venue early on in our search and were shocked by how affordable it was for NYC given all that it included. From the large bridal suite (really, house!) to the quality food and the fire pit, we were blown away by it all. They were able to accommodate everything we asked for, including having our dog participate in the ceremony and having enough coupe glasses for our signature drink. I’m not sure I heard “no” once from Arthur and his team! Truly incredible service. All of our guests raved about how cool the venue was. It has a funky, nontraditional vibe while also providing everything that a traditional wedding venue offers. And oh boy were they attentive during the event. Every time my glass was empty, it seemed Arthur or another member of the team handed me a fresh glass. Our package included a lot of extras (DJ, cake, late-night pizza), which just added to the incredible value. Thank you SO much Sanctuary team for making our wedding an incredible night!

We had a fabulous wedding reception at the Donauschwaben German Cultural Center (Lenau Park). Their entire staff—from their awesome coordinator Christine to their banquet captain and bar staff—was so kind, so professional, and most importantly made our guests feel welcome and taken care of. Christine came to every meeting organized and prepared. She understands the details as well as the emotions that go into planning a wedding and was a great part of our support system. She is fair and reasonable—even helped us make a German Hall a little more “Italian” for the bride. We could not have asked for a better partner! As for the venue itself, it was the perfect place to host 300 of our closest friends and family. The space was beautiful, bright and happy. Our guests were comfortably seated at 32 round tables of 8 to 10. The team made all of our décor visions come to life. The outdoor patio was welcoming and comfortable for guests as well. The dance floor is huge! Perfect for an Italian tarantella. I would also say the room is set up well acoustically—with 300 people in the room and music playing, you could still hear the other people at your table. The entryway was also perfect for our receiving line. We were happy to see that guests could enjoy their time—whether they wanted to dance the night away, sit and chat, or just enjoy the night air with family. The food was excellent—seriously excellent. We got so many compliments after the wedding! They have their buffet line down to a science with all of our guests being served in a reasonable amount of time. They also did a great job of meeting the needs of our gluten- and dairy-free guests. That is so hard to do when you are feeding so many people, and even these guests said they enjoyed their meals. Finally, the money we spent on this wedding reception was well worth the value. The food and beverage packages are incredibly fair for the quality and the amount of food your guests will be served. We were also able to add appetizers and some special add-ons at a reasonable rate. The linens are provided by a separate vendor, but even those costs were not too bad, and everything looked beautiful when it was decorated! While there are certain rules the venue must follow and sometimes we needed to negotiate the details, Christine was highly transparent and upfront with us, and always worked with us to find the right solution for our day. After hosting our wedding here, we would absolutely do it again with this space and this team. When it comes to the Donauschwaben, we strongly recommend them for your wedding reception and cannot say enough good things about their level of service!

My wedding day at The Lake House Inn was perfect from start to finish. Standing by the lake for the ceremony felt so peaceful and pretty—I couldn’t have asked for a better spot. The ballroom looked amazing for dinner and dancing, and the huge cocktail hour space let everyone move around easily inside and out. The food was delicious (thanks Jeffrey Miller Catering!), and Joe the bar manager was a total rockstar. Having 18 rooms meant my whole family and wedding party stayed over—it really felt like our own little weekend getaway. The fire pit at the end of the night was so cozy. Marina was so kind the whole time, and Kate kept everything on track without me worrying once. I’m so glad we chose this place!

I was a Wheeler House bride this past April and it was hands down the best decision we could have made while wedding planning. We rented out the cottages for our bridal party for two nights and it was an incredible experience to have everyone together the night before and after our wedding! Throughout its history the school stayed true to its Catholic roots and the nuns who served and taught here. Operating until 1982 the stories written within its walls are still told today. Re-emerging with a new mission and purpose in April of 1991, Nazareth Hall was reborn. When we were looking for a venue, I immediately fell in love with the look and feel of Nazareth Hall. It is a beautiful place that allows for so much diversity in decor/theme. Not only was Nazareth beautiful, but the staff was absolutely wonderful! They worked with us to ensure that we had exactly what we wanted on our wedding day. There was never a time that I felt stressed during our wedding planning because our coordinator at Nazareth helped us through each step! She always ensured that we had specific things booked by certain times in our planning. The amazing staff didn’t end with our wedding planner/coordinator, the waitstaff and day of coordinator were also amazing! I never felt like I was forced to pay for things we didn’t need and the food was amazing! Nazareth Hall is 1000% the best wedding venue in the area! We have had nothing but positive experiences here!

She was so sweet, attentive, communicative & went out of her way to make our wedding perfect. The grounds are beautiful & they made beautiful backdrops for our photos. Tracy was also awesome to work with & did an incredible job with our flowers & they were stunning. The food at the wedding was delicious & everyone was raving about it. The pastry chef was also so accommodating & she made me the wedding cake of my dreams. The service at the reception was also classy & top notch. We also loved our suite by the pool. Everything was perfect & we highly recommend Inn at Leola for the food, the grounds & most importantly the service provided by Gianna & Tracy.

Alex Hubbart was my wedding coordinator and she SLAYED all my wedding planning, day of coordinating, and anything else. I literally, LITERALLY could not have asked for a better coordinator. I had no idea what I wanted and she was so patient and helpful the entire time. Caryn was my banquet captain and if you can you should request her. The whole night went perfect. Aiden was our server and he was so sweet and professional. Kevin and Nate killed it. Our food was perfect. And Christie and Carrie were our bar tenders. They made me a custom drink from my grad school days helped me perfect it. I was pumped. Nate the DJ was a crowd favorite. I got the best feedback about how good he was from my guests. If I got married again, I’d do it at Mountain View ranch and I would pick the same team. Especially Alex. Do yourself a favor and book her as your coordinator before someone else snaps her up. The venue itself is beautiful and all the vendors worked so well with the venue. Imagine because they are familiar with the trip and timeline. It was so easy working with Saphire, and the venue is beautiful. They even set up all of our decor for us, which made things so easy the day of. They supported us throughout the planning process as well. The food is incredible and all of our guests continue to comment about it. The venue has many great photo spots and everything was perfect! Brooklyn Winery was a dream venue for our wedding day. From the very first interaction, the staff were responsive, easy to talk to, and provided detailed information to help us plan our special day. On the day of, all of the staff were pleasant and seemed to be vibing with the energy of the wedding. Our day of coordinator even helped us create a last minute boutonniere when we realized we were missing one. The space itself was beautiful, full of warmth and character that made our celebration feel truly dreamy. All of our guests were gushing about how dreamy the venue was and the quality of food which we were so happy to hear. The mashed potatoes and the steak were the biggest hit! I loved how our guests were able to slip into the cocktail room for dessert and catch up with each other or go dancing on the dance floor. The only regret I had was missing the opportunity to take photos in their lovely & iconic wine barrel area as it was blocked off due to all the storage and the dinner rehearsal that was going on in the tasting room. Definitely would recommend Brooklyn Winery for couples who are looking for that rustic but whimsical vibe.

We are so grateful to Bay Pointe (especially Ashley, Juno, and Lauren) for helping us host a spectacular event. We had our event at the Bay Pointe Pavilion and it was so lovely. We had a gorgeous evening and the weather was perfect. The grounds were beautiful with early June flowers blooming. Bay Pointe also had added more ceremony space flowers which really made it look even better. The food was great and everyone loved our drink menu. Overall, Bay Pointe made everything so easy that day because of how comprehensive the services they offer are. Everyone commented to us that we had the most peaceful, stress-free wedding they had been to in a long time. How much do wedding & reception venues cost?

The cost of wedding venues varies, with factors influencing cost including size, location, guest count, and, most importantly, whether things like catering and rentals are included. The more a reception venue near you includes, the higher the cost. When considering venues, try to compare prices apples-to-apples. If one venue includes catering and rentals in their pricing and the other doesn’t, you need to figure out how much additional cost those outside vendors would be to make a true comparison. Before booking, be sure you’re aware of additional costs outlined in your contract, like parking fees and weather-related considerations (adding a tent, etc.).

What questions should we ask wedding venues?

When talking with a potential venue, always ask about 1) their availability and 2) their capacity. Some popular venues book up peak season Saturdays nearly 2 years in advance—if your first choice date isn’t available, consider your flexibility on day of the week and year. While maximum capacity is non-negotiable, venues might have guidance on what guest count will be most comfortable. Also, you’ll want to understand what is and is not included in the venue’s fees. Some include catering, tables and chairs, and linens, while others offer just the raw space. These venues are often less expensive because you are only paying for the space itself, and you’ll have to bring in outside vendors
