First Floor - Cocktail and Reception
A space that wows your guests at every phase of your event!
Our first floor is the crown jewel of Walden! As soon as you cross the entrance to the reception and cocktail space you are immediately greeted to versatile room that feels both cozy and spacious at the same time. We decided to white wash the original brick to bring in a light and airy feel to contrast with the industrial floors and ceilings. We fell in love with the original ceilings of the building and opted to keep them as is!!

As soon as you step into the room, you can immediately envision yourself walking down the aisle towards our organic feature wall. This space has retained the original building's brick coloring which is balanced out by the neutral wood-tones of our floors and the walls of the bar. Windows facing East and West promises beautiful natural lighting for as long as the Sun is up. For our winter weddings, we dim the lighting to ensure your space is intimate and romantic as you would like.

Amazing Venue
From our very first call with Maria, we knew we were in the best hands. She was attentive, thoughtful, and truly set the tone for what would be an incredible experience from start to finish. Our wedding planners were absolutely amazing—guiding us every step of the way and making the entire process feel seamless and stress-free. By the time the big day arrived, everything felt effortless. The venue itself was clean, stunning, and the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The catering and bar teams were equally incredible—professional, attentive, and delivering impeccable food, drinks and service throughout the night. I truly can’t say enough good things about this entire team and experience. If I could do it all over again, I would book this venue and team over and over without hesitation.

The most amazing Wedding venue!!
We got married at Walden in December and it was the best decision we could have ever made for our wedding. Walden ensured that we were taken care of every step of the way. Walden has it all: amazing food and drinks, full service planning, and great relationships with some of the best vendors in Chicago. Maria was so wonderful to work with in the beginning stages to book our wedding with Walden. She answered our many questions and scheduled multiple calls with us to ensure we were comfortable with the contract we were signing and was so accommodating! Krystle and Alyssa, our amazing planners, could not have been better!! They were there every step of the way whether it was to offer suggestions on vendors, reach out to vendors for us to get pricing/details, and to keep us on track with planning every detail. As an indecisive bride who really had no vision going into wedding planning I could not be more grateful to Alyssa and Krystle for making the planning process as easy as possible! From the moment I arrived the morning of my wedding we were taken care of by the amazing staff at Walden. Helen greeted us with breakfast set up, took our dresses to steam them, made sure my veil and all accessories were ready for detail shots, and checked in on us to help with anything we needed. Krystle helped ensure that the day went according to plan and made every dream of ours come true. She brought our vision to life and we could not be more thankful for her. Jenny was our closing planner the day of the wedding and made sure we were taken care of the entire night. She helped coordinate the set up of the desserts and late night snacks and helped secure all of our belongings at the end of the night. The planning team is a dream and allowed me to not have to worry about a single detail the day of my wedding. They gave me the ability to be fully present with family and friends for every moment of the day. The food and drinks were hands down the best we have ever had! Our family and friends could not agree more, we continuously receive compliments on the appetizers, entrees, and drinks at our wedding. We can’t thank the kitchen and bar staff enough! Our wedding was a dream and we could not be happier with how everything turned out. I would highly recommend getting married at Walden and I hope that I get to attend a wedding there again to experience it all over!

Amazing experience!!
10/10!!! If we could get married 10 times over again, we would be at Walden 10 times more. Walden was the most perfect wedding venue from start to finish. The main thing that we were looking for in a venue was an all inclusive vibe that would allow for as little planning and stress as possible, as neither of us were really into the whole wedding planning thing. Walden was just that. The wedding planners that you work with from the beginning, make it so easy to stay on track. the app that they use was super helpful to make sure that everything was organized and things are done according to the best timeline. We never once felt stressed out about the whole wedding planning process and that really says a lot about Walden and how great they are. Big shout out to Krystle and Alyssa for making the process so seamless and making sure we were supported. The other important piece of criteria that we wanted was on site catering so that our guests would have the best experience from a food perspective. The food was phenomenal! Our guests raved about how great it was, saying it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The bar was the best wedding bar I’ve ever seen. The drink selection was on point, with amazing cocktails and the bar staff was incredible. A huge shout out to bartender Amy, who made sure that both of us had drinks in our hand the entire night! Walden is so thoughtful in their entire approach from making sure you are taken care of months before the wedding, to the day of the wedding, giving you space to have a cocktail, appetizer, and a breather before the party starts! We are obsessed with this venue and we really hope that one day we get invited back to someone else’s wedding there so we can relive the wonderful experience that we had!

Best Wedding Venue and Planning Team
Choosing the Walden as our wedding venue and planning team was truly the best decision we made during the entire wedding process. My husband, Eric, and I were married there in December 2025, and the experience was nothing short of magical—effortless for us as a couple. After touring several venues in Chicago, we instantly knew Walden was the perfect place for us. With our busy work schedules, it was essential to find a venue and planning team that could streamline the process while still providing exceptional and top-line service. Unlike many other venues that required us to bring in everything from catering to bar service, Walden made it easy, especially for a winter wedding. Having attended numerous weddings, we understood that food, bar service, and overall flow are crucial to the guest experience. Walden exceeded our expectations in every way! We’re still receiving compliments about the incredible food and bar service, and how much fun our guests had (too much fun)! Trust me, the food and bar package is not over-hyped – it is truly on par with Chicago’s top restaurants. The venue itself is beautifully designed for weddings—every detail, from the getting-ready suites to the stunning bar and open layout, is thoughtfully designed to make sure you and your guests have the best experience. And I cannot say enough about the planning team. Working with Briscel, Kalila, Ally, and Sydni was amazing. They brought our vision to life in a way that felt uniquely “us,” rather than standard or cookie-cutter. Their talent, responsiveness, organization, and proactive approach made everything effortless. From recommending top-tier vendors to coordinating every detail (including support for our church ceremony), they were with us every step of the way. One of my biggest concerns was whether I would be able to genuinely relax and enjoy our wedding day. Thanks to the entire Walden team, I didn’t have to worry about a single detail. Everything ran flawlessly, allowing us to be fully present and cherish every moment. We truly had the most perfect wedding weekend, and I can confidently say it wouldn’t have been possible without the wonderful team at the Walden. They exceeded every expectation and gave us the best day of our lives. We are endlessly grateful! If you’re considering a wedding venue, we wholeheartedly recommend Walden—you won’t regret it!
