Second Floor - Ceremony Space
Bright and fresh ceremony room bordered by large windows on both sides
As soon as you step into the room, you can immediately envision yourself walking down the aisle towards our organic feature wall. This space has retained the original building's brick coloring which is balanced out by the neutral wood-tones of our floors and the walls of the bar. Windows facing East and West promises beautiful natural lighting for as long as the Sun is up. For our winter weddings, we dim the lighting to ensure your space is intimate and romantic as you would like.

Our first floor is the crown jewel of Walden! As soon as you cross the entrance to the reception and cocktail space you are immediately greeted to versatile room that feels both cozy and spacious at the same time. We decided to white wash the original brick to bring in a light and airy feel to contrast with the industrial floors and ceilings. We fell in love with the original ceilings of the building and opted to keep them as is!!

Smoothest wedding of all time
Working with Walden Chicago was such a relief because they actually listened to what we wanted instead of pushing us toward unnecessary add-ons. From our first conversation through the tasting to the final day, Sydni Boney and her team were responsive, patient, and genuinely interested in making our vision come true. They supported my DIY ideas while keeping things practical, and we were able to stick to our budget without sacrificing the elegant look we wanted. The tasting experience alone was worth it—the portion sizes were generous and the quality was incredible. The bar was well staffed, and customized. They made sangria and Hugo spritz as our signature cocktails and had many classics pre-batched. The economic package had quality liquors, wines, and beers, and every thing was craft made. On our wedding day, everything ran smoothly because the staff knew exactly what they were doing and actually cared about the details. Walden Chicago isn't just good at their job; they're good people, and any bride who gets married at the Walden is truly lucky.

We stumbled upon Walden while doing a quiz on The Knot to find a venue. What a find! From the start, their communication was efficient and top notch. Maria, the owner, was amazing to get info from and a tour. The venue has thought of EVERYTHING and more. Things you never even would think of needing yourself! Maria used to be a wedding planner and it shows in how she runs the venue! The food/bar staff is also amazing in making sure all the food and drinks you could want are available. They source local, women and minority owned, and LGBTQ friendly companies which leads to your bar having unique liquors, wines, and beers that you don't see at most weddings. The tasting party was a blast and the staff really took the time to make sure we got to taste anything we wanted. Throughout planning, Katie and Sydni guided us the entire time with timelines and goals so nothing was rushed or forgotten. Our guests continue to rave about their experience with the flow of the night, food, and drinks. We truly didn't have to do or think of a thing on our wedding day - it all just happened! Sydni and Katie, our planner and coordinate were the absolute best and truly feel like your friend by the end! We cannot say enough great things about Walden and are so, so happy we stumbled upon them for our big day! They made planning fun and the actual day a dream!

I cannot recommend Walden enough as a wedding venue. They made my husband and I's wedding planning experience amazing from start to end. The planning team was amazing and took a lot of the stress and uncertainty out of the planning process for us, which was extremely helpful. The staff that worked our event also were amazing. we received so many compliments about how good the food and drinks were, and how seamless our day went and we cannot agree more. Walden is a beautiful venue and was everything we wanted and more.

BEST VENUE EVER!
My husband and I got married here on August 2nd 2026 and it was absolutely the best day of our lives! If Walden is on your list of venues just go ahead and sign with them, you will NOT regret it! From the first time we toured the space, we fell in love with how elegant and perfectly curated everything in their space felt. Not to mention how incredibly nice and attentive their entire staff is. Walden's full service wedding planning and catering and bar are out of this world. From the moment we signed with them, our wedding planners Briscel, Ally, and Sydni were on top of every little detail we could possibly think of and much more! They truly helped take the stress out of planning a wedding and handled all communication with our vendors, reviewed contracts, and just made the entire planning process as seamless as possible. And they made our vision come to life even better than we could've imagined. They definitely are experts at their jobs. A very special perk of signing with Walden, apart from the full service planning is their gorgeous tasting party they throw. This is your opportunity to try all of the delicious food and drinks they offer and gives you a little taste of what's to come. Our guests raved about how incredible our food and drinks were and we saw those signature cocktails flying off the bar all night long!! The day of our wedding the entire morning and afternoon leading up to our ceremony went flawlessly. The entire team at Walden is incredibly attentive and ensure that the bride and groom have nothing to worry about. We never felt any stress and never had any questions coming our way, our day of opening and closing coordinators Imani and Helen and our planner Sydni made sure everything went according to plan. If you are getting married here, please please please ask for Briscel or Sydni, they will absolutely make your wedding dreams come true. We cannot thank you two enough and the rest of the Walden team for helping us throw the wedding of our dreams, we are forever grateful!

I can't imagine a better venue team!!!
We got married on May 2 and Walden truly made it the best day ever! From the very beginning, we felt like we were in fantastic hands. Katie Rose was such a huge part of making the planning process feel manageable. She was incredibly responsive, answered what felt like a million questions (both the big decisions and the tiny details), and always made us feel like our questions were important. She also gave us great vendor recommendations, and every vendor we chose from Walden's preferred list was fantastic. Katie Rose made the entire process feel organized and approachable. Kalila, our lead planner, was phenomenal. She was calm, organized, and somehow managed to appear exactly when we needed her on our wedding day. One moment that perfectly captures Walden's incredible attention to detail happened when I lost the backing to one of my earrings during the reception. One of my bridesmaids immediately gave me the backing from her own earring but without us even having to ask, Kalila saw what happened, tracked down my friend, and brought her a replacement earring back from Walden's supply. It was such a small gesture, but it perfectly reflects the level of care and thoughtfulness that defines the Walden team. They anticipate needs in the moment (sometimes before we even realized we had them), allowing us to simply enjoy every moment of the day knowing everything was taken care of. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and the food and drinks were amazing. We've had so many guests tell us how beautiful the space was and how much they loved the cocktail hour, dinner, and bar. It was so special to hear our guests rave about the experience long after the wedding was over. Choosing Walden was the best decision we could have made. The entire team genuinely cares about creating an exceptional experience, and that showed in every interaction we had. If you're considering Walden, don't hesitate!
