Hi! I’m Jess. I approach wedding photography with a photo journalistic eye, seeking out the authentic experiences of your day rather than fabricated moments. I shoot mostly film, medium format and 35mm, as well as a little bit of digital, to create timeless imagery that ages gracefully. Alongside weddings, I also run a tintype photography business. I offer the option to add on custom tintype portraits for weddings within a 6 hour driving radius of Portland. I am trained as a fine art photographer, studying at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and SFAI. I now live in the small town of Washougal, WA on the edge of the Columbia River Gorge.

I am an Oregon, USA born and raised portrait and wedding photographer. I have doing photography professionally for 10 years. I have dabbled with photography off and on my whole life but I have been professional since 2014, and as of Fall 2018, photography is my full-time pursuit! I have lived in Washington my whole life and absolutely love this beautiful green state! I grew up right across the bridge from Portland, then moved to Seattle for 6 years, and now I'm back in Vancouver! For as long as I can remember, I've loved to take pictures. I got my first little film camera for Christmas when I was 8 years old. Looking for things to photograph filled me with so much joy and I would be giddy with excitement when my mom would bring home the developed photos for me to look through.

I never meant to be a wedding photographer - but somehow, here I am. I started my career as a newspaper reporter, and left that to be a writer and photographer for a public university. Almost 10 years into my second career, I was laid off - so I turned some pretty sour lemons into Lemonade Photography. I'm a lifelong Northwesterner, a mom to two boys, a nature lover, a proud geek and quite possibly the biggest Harry Potter fan you'll ever meet (don't challenge me to a Potter trivia contest; you WILL lose). I love to laugh, and I love to make my clients laugh along with me.
