Trevaughn Smith Photography

  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,100
  • Serves Suitland, MD

Hi! I’m Trevaughn Smith (he/him), a published queer wedding & portrait photographer based in the DC, Maryland & Virginia area. I’ve made it my life’s work to become a visual storyteller for couples who value authenticity, individuality, and non-traditional love stories. I’m great at blending into the background and capturing honest, unscripted moments – the kind that reflect your real connection. Whether you’re exchanging vows on an LGBTQ+-owned farm, having a small gathering at a Michelin-star restaurant, or celebrating love at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, I’ll be there to document your day as it naturally unfolds.

Awarded Best of Zola
From the moment we met Trevaughn, we knew he was the perfect person to bring all of the pieces of our wedding vision together. We’ve had the opportunity to plan and shoot with him before as he helped my husband plan a surprise proposal shoot at DC’s Minetta Tavern. From his unmatched skill behind the camera to his kind and thoughtful direction that highlighted our family and friends so beautifully, he exceeded all of our expectations and left a wonderful lasting impression on everyone he captured. His final product highlighted our casual elopement dinner with such elegance and care, and we’re quick to recommend him to our newly engaged friends without a second thought!

Ivy & Quartz Photography
Rating: 5.0 (37 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $3,850
  • Serves Suitland, MD

Hi! I'm Nina and I run Ivy & Quartz photography! I shot my first wedding in 2013, but my journey with photography began long before that. When I was about 10 years old, my dad gave me a camera and I quickly became obsessed. My intrigue continued to grow over the years and I went on to earn my BA in Studio Art , Photography, from the University of Virginia. After graduating I worked as a portrait photographer and decided to pursue and earn my MFA in Imaging Arts from the Rochester Institute of Technology.

Awarded Best of Zola
After friends shared a photo of my then fiance and me at their own wedding, we hired the photographer who took it. This was Nina! That one photo inspired us to review the gallery of their entire wedding and then her portfolio and we were blown away. 7 months later our own wedding day arrived. My husband and I are the type of people who are wildly present and constantly forget to take photographs of our life together. We knew we wanted to capture this day without the photography becoming a chore or hindering our ability to do what we do best and enjoy our time. Nina was able to provide just that and was incredible (as was the second photographer she worked with for our big day). Nina seamlessly handled all the chaotic moments and pre-ceremony stress of the very emotional bride (me) in stride! With very little direction she navigated all aspects of a wedding day with absolute poise and grace. I cannot thank her enough for taking on such leadership and just GETTING IT DONE! Nina captured all the big and tiny pieces that go into a wedding and I felt her photo choices, angles, and poses perfectly captured the essence of me and my husband's personalities. At every avenue Nina was a professional, personable, and I never expected I could be so satisfied with a collection of photographs. THANK YOU SO MUCH NINA.

Cesario Mendez Photography
Rating: 5.0 (27 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Serves Suitland, MD

When I am not behind the camera or editing photos, I enjoy short Uber rides to bottomless brunch on the weekends; right now mimosas and I kinda have a thing going on! I have a special relationship with bourbon and FIRMLY believe in putting food on the grill during late afternoons should be the norm. I am blessed to be married to the happiest person on earth (I am so serious), who just happens to double as my favorite person. She keeps me grounded and never fails to remind me how great she is.

Awarded Best of Zola
It was great to work with Cesar. From the moment we had our introductory call with him, we were drawn in by his authenticity, humor and laid back energy. We knew he was a good fit for a day that we wanted to keep positive, low-stress, and focused. When it came time for him to give instructions for couple and family shoots, he was confident and cool. In fact, many of our guests went out of their way to share how impressed they were with Cesar. He did a great job capturing our daytime wedding despite the quick change from cloudy and rainy to a bright springtime sun. He struck the perfect balance of positioning himself well to get great shots without being conspicuous or obtrusive. I plan to hire Cesar for other events in the future and recommend that my friends do the same.

With over ten years of experience, Precious Pics is proud to have made many brides’ days easier to remember by producing beautiful wedding photos and films. We are professionals at everything that we do and stay connected with couples before and after the Big Day. We help with your timelines, design packages specifically for your personal needs, and never surprise you with fees or hidden expenses.

Precious Pics White Glove was an amazing wedding photography vendor for our special day. Their communication style was very communicative. We really appreciated how their white glove concierge stayed on top of things and assisted us throughout the process. The quality of their work and value was awesome. The photos came out exactly as we wanted, and the video was even longer than we expected. Their concierge did our timeline and assisted with a lot of arrangements, providing advice that even our planner didn't give. Overall, this is a great company that I highly recommend using. They work with top photographers and have affordable prices compared to others in the area.

Kelly Loss was the absolute best to work with for our wedding photography!! She was a constant source of light throughout the whole planning process and our photos came out stunning! She is extremely organized and really helped us nail down the timeline of the day with planning meetings along the way, and was constantly reminding us to have fun and not get overwhelmed with the little things. • Starts at $4,500
  • Serves Suitland, MD

We are a passionate and creative husband and wife photography team who have a serious soft spot for documenting love stories. The big and little moments in life matter and we believe that everyone deserves to have photos that remind them of all the joy, tears, laughter, and adventure that surrounded them on the most momentous days in their life.

Awarded Best of Zola
Lindsay was the absolute best to work with. No one better! We did an engagement and wedding shoot with her. I consider myself to not be the most photogenic person, and find photos taken of me generally look unnatural, staged, or silly. Lindsay found a way to make us both feel comfortable and ourselves and the results were photos we absolutely cherish. She’s obviously seasoned in what she does and helped us figure out how to organize the time for the more formal shots in addition to the candids. She did great scouting of both locations to make sure the shots she took were well framed, interesting, had good lighting, and also reflected us as a couple. I’m a picky architect and appreciated how she knew intuitively how to bring architectural detail and composition into the photos. From the logistics standpoint, Lindsay is so responsive and professional, we never had to fret about anything. She’s the absolute best!

Lotus Photography
Rating: 5.0 (12 reviews)
  • Photojournalistic style
  • Starts at $2,100
  • Serves Suitland, MD

My passion for photography grew when my daughter, Lotus, was born in 2004 and I began documenting her childhood with an eye toward catching each irreplaceable moment. Soon, friends and then friends of friends asked me to photograph their children and families. Before long, I was documenting the lives and milestones of people all over the DMV area. I realized how happy I was connecting with people and capturing special moments, and so I launched Lotus Photography in 2012 - named for my first muse. I captured my first wedding in 2016 and I was instantly in love with being a wedding photographer!

Awarded Best of Zola
We cannot say enough good things about Georgette! We had a January wedding with about 50 guests, and she was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Our portrait time was tight (our fault), and Georgette helped us game plan ahead of time so we could make the absolute most of it. She rolled effortlessly with last-minute changes to people and the order of photos, and somehow managed to squish in everyone we hoped to include without making it feel rushed or stressful. The photos themselves are stunning. She captured every bit of emotion — the big happy moments, the quiet sentimental ones, and even the teary-eyed exchanges. Looking through our gallery truly feels like reliving the day. Beyond her talent behind the camera, her wedding experience really showed. From knowing how to properly carry a giant dress and veil, to keeping things moving smoothly, she went above and beyond in so many small but meaningful ways. If you’re considering booking Georgette — do it. We are so grateful for her and will treasure these photos forever.

Hi there! I’m Sharon! I am a long-time professional photographer, a former award-winning photojournalist, and an official photographer for the Canadian Embassy. I love photographing weddings and I provide beautiful, bold, and romantic images for my couples to treasure forever.

Awarded Best of Zola
We had a wonderful experience with Sharon Natoli as our wedding photographer. She is extremely talented and brought her extensive photojournalism experience, professionalism, and positive energy to capture our wedding day. She handled a rainy outdoor ceremony situation with ease, taking the weather as an opportunity for some unique and memorable shots. She also stuck with us after the reception as the sun came out to catch some incredible light soaked moments. Throughout the day, she was amazing with our guests, keeping things moving swiftly so folks didn't get too cold, and helping some of the more camera-shy (including me, the bride) feel at ease. I love that she took the time to meet with us beforehand and get to know us, learn more about our family and guests, understand our style preferences, as well as offer some expert advice on how the day could go. She also walked us through the final photos and gave us some behind the scenes technical insight which was a really nice way to revisit the day. It's clear she is passionate about photography and loves what she does. Her enthusiasm is contagious and we're so glad she was the one to photograph our day. We are absolutely thrilled with our photos and highly recommend Sharon Natoli to any DC/Maryland area couples!

Are you tired of scrolling through wedding websites full of photos of shoes/calligraphy/earrings/etc. and wondering where the people are? Do you love moments more than things? If yes, you're in the right place. Forget about the table settings, instead embrace spontaneous joy and honest, natural moments.

Awarded Best of Zola
Darcy was a pleasure to work with! She was so accommodating and informative throughout the process. I did a lot of our wedding planning at the last minute and I have never had professional photos done so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but Darcy walked me through the wedding day and made sure that we had a clear plan. She was also very patient with all of my last minute changes to the schedule. I originally reached out to Darcy because I loved the style of her photos and I was incredibly pleased when I saw our photos. I would definitely reach out to her for future events/family photos!

Hi! My name is Steve. I do visual storytelling. I’m married with three kids and in my spare time I record music and build things. I've been filming and photographing weddings since 2009. I love travel and getting to know unique couples.

Awarded Best of Zola
We hired Steven and his team to do our wedding photos and videography. I really wanted a photographer that could capture the soul of the event, and Steven did exactly that. His photos are full of life, and I shared so many portraits with guests that actually got printed out or posted online. If you're looking for hundreds of photos of your wedding party that look exactly the same and for every planned second to be documented, Steven is not your person. If you're looking to hit the big moments but focus on capturing raw moments with timeless photos to get framed, I couldn't recommend them more. I never thought I would get a wedding video because it always seemed cheesy to me. But after watching examples of his work I fell absolutely in love with his videos. I've honestly had a hard time watching ours because it evokes so much emotion. Steven was collaborative and willing to go with the flow. We gave him the difficult task of being prepared for 3 different locations with totally differing lighting (indoor/outdoor plus shooting from high sun into the night). He puts an immense amount of care into his work and the photos are truly art that we will cherish forever. If there are specific things you want covered, be sure to share a list. When it comes to capturing the moments that can't be planned, he is on the case!

Hey, I'm Chris! Dog-lover, latte-lover, gym-lover, and cookie-lover I justify the cookies by going to the gym. One of my life goals is to have enough dogs (dachshunds and corgis) to create a sled team. I will use this sled team to pull myself around while shooting your wedding. I’m joking, unless you really want me to, in which maybe WE should get married.

Awarded Best of Zola
When reviewing my wedding photos that Chris did, I am continuously grateful that we chose him to do our photography. Not only did the photos come out spectacular, he made us so comfortable throughout the process. Anyone seeing his finished product can see that he’s talented. Yet one misses in the photos is the man behind the camera who truly went out of his way to be a solid rock for a day that can be chaotic at times. He really felt like family during our wedding day and so seamlessly fit in with all our friends and family invited. I would, and have, recommended him again and again to other couples getting married. You won’t regret it.

We truly could not have asked for a better wedding photographer! From the very beginning, they were professional, organized, and incredibly easy to work with, which immediately put us at ease. On the wedding day itself, they struck the perfect balance between being calm and reassuring while also keeping everything on schedule and flowing smoothly. They captured every important moment beautifully—from the big, emotional highlights to the small, candid details we didn’t even realize were happening at the time. Looking through our photos feels like reliving the entire day all over again. The images are timeless, natural, and full of genuine emotion, not overly posed or forced! What stood out most was how attentive and thoughtful they were—not just to us, but to our families and wedding party as well. Multiple guests commented on how kind and personable they were, yet somehow always in the right place at the right time! We are beyond grateful for these photos and will cherish them for the rest of our lives. We had the pleasure of seeing her work firsthand at a friend's wedding, with who knows how many cameras strapped on! Seeing her attention to detail firsthand and the beautiful quality of our friends photos, she was first on our list for a consultation. Our album turned out better than we could have dreamed up. It is truly reflective of us and our day. Complete with details of my treasured Kirkland sweatpants on the way to our venue contrasted with my dress glam Katelyn’s commitment to us was truly exceptional as she had a family loss shortly before our wedding. It would have been more than understandable for her to need more time away or to find us a replacement. Despite this, Katelyn remained fully committed to capturing our day and we are so so grateful. Her dedication and professionalism during such a difficult time speaks volumes about her passion for her work and for her clients. Katelyn is a true artist and an amazing person. Her work exceeded all our expectations, and we feel so fortunate to have had her as part of our wedding team. When we started our search for photographers, we knew we wanted to work with someone we "clicked" with because that would translate to us being comfortable in front of the camera. I remember the first call with Demetric and just feeling such a sense of ease compared to other photographers we had spoken with, which continued into our first meeting in DC. His flexibility and advice through our planning process was so helpful too.

On our wedding day, Demetric made us and our guests feel so comfortable -- this is such a gift to any couple on a day that is fueled by all of the emotions. Demetric's thoughtfulness, guidance, and joy were so special to have as a part of this day. And while we got to experience someone with such a relaxed demeanor, we know his focus is always on the details of the compositions and capturing unique images in his beautiful style. Demetric's work is incredibly dynamic and his photos are so rich -- we are counting down the days to see more photos from our wedding day!

All in all, if you want someone who is going to roll with the punches, give you awesome ideas, and make you feel at ease, Demetric and his United Photography team are the way to go!

By paying attention to the ways you interact with your loved ones, I capture the in-between moments that will, one day, be significant. And using a trained eye and subtle approach, I do so unobtrusively.

She seamlessly blends into the crowd to take photos that capture the essence of your wedding and always manages to find the perfect picture that will make you cry, laugh, and then cry again. She has a remarkable eye. If you want to get away from stilted formal shots and remember and celebrate the actual day of your wedding, work with Natasha. She makes the entire wedding process a joy, from the initial meeting with her to the date night she set up for you to view your photos. She also does "slice of life" engagement shoots which can be a fun and casual date night that she captures with her incredible camera. Everyone has been blown away by the quality of the pictures. There is a reason that she is a top world wedding photographer. I trust Natasha completely. If you are not interested in classic boring posed photos, you can do no better than to hire Natasha Lamalle immediately. She is a true artist with a camera. You will fall in love over and over again through her photos.

Hi, I'm Rosie, and I would LOVE to take your photos! I want you to look back at your wedding album and be able to feel the love and fun - all over again - even after looking through it for the 100th time. Weddings can be stressful, so let's make this part easy! You, me, and the camera.

By Rosie Photography was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding day. From the first time we spoke, Rosie was easy to talk to, open to our suggestions, and had great ideas to help make our day special. Their positive attitude and confidence-building approach put us at ease throughout the entire process. The quality of her work was fantastic, especially given her very reasonable pricing. Rosie was incredibly flexible, quickly adapting to some last-minute schedule changes, and made sure we got all the photos we wanted to commemorate our special day. We couldn't be happier with the beautiful memories she helped capture for us.
