Jimmy Rupe Productions was started by DJ Mello Ell when he was a child. Born Elliot James "E.J." Rupert in Milwaukee, WI, he started making mixtapes and CD compilations for family and friends. Having received praise for his ear for music, this led to his desire to deejay. He joined the Navy in 2007 which sent him to his duty station in Oak Harbor, WA, near Seattle. After serving, he loved the Seattle area so much that he decided to stay there and take on the music world.
