“Naked Soul (led by Tony and Tom Perrone) absolutely ROCKED at our wedding! Tons of friends and family told us during and afterwards that they were the best wedding band they'd seen, and we might be biased, but we agree wholeheartedly. They were also pretty great to work with, and as a result music was one of the least stressful parts of planning and one of the best memories of the event. The planning process was extremely professional — we had a few calls with Tony to talk over the vibe we were going for in the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dance floor. They sent over a list of a couple hundred songs in their repertoire and we picked 20 or so to anchor their idea of what we were looking for and selected our processionals, recessional, first dance, and parent-child dances. Our first dance was not on their list but they learned it and killed it in their performance. Our venue was a little non-traditional (relatively small room for the dance floorband) and we weren't sure that a full band was going to work in the space, but Tony put us at ease and pulled it off amazingly. One of the points Tony made in the run-up was that the songs we were picking were recommendations, not a set list. The band was going to follow the vibe and play more of whatever style was working with the crowd. This made it so much easier for us to pick songs, and in the end they played a lot of stuff that wasn't in our pics but went over better than we could have dreamed. I never thought I'd say that the best songs at my wedding were from the Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, and Black Eyed Peas. They knew their audience and the place went wild when they played Everybody (Backstreet's Back). The range of songs that a 10-piece band with a full array of vocalists can pull off is wild. Anyway, 10/10, would book again. If you're in the New York area and looking for a party we can't recommend Perrone Bros/Naked Soul highly enough. Bonus, these pics were taken by Tony and posted to their Instagram after the event.”

My fiance and his family are from Mexico and my family is from the US, so we wanted to be able to dance to US wedding classics and early 2000s throwbacks as well as Latin pop, Shakira, and lots of traditional Mexican music and cumbia! We went into our vendor search having no expectation that we’d find a band that could do ALL of that — but we lucked out finding Just the Melody! They can do it all, and SO well! Our wedding guests were on the dance floor until 1am! They also learned our first dance song for us and performed it almost better than the original :) Above all, they were so kind and accommodating and fun to work with and they cared so much about making sure the evening went exactly how we wanted it to go. We cannot recommend this incredible band enough”

“We got married at The Bonnie in Astoria in August and LOVED our DJ, Jen Jones. We did share a number of playlists with her and she got the vibe we were going for and picked the exact right songs each moment of the night including one of my parents' favorite slow songs which I didn't even think to mention. We also had some friends play live music for our ceremony and Jen was very helpful meeting with them beforehand and communicating directly with our venue the week before the wedding. We had some technical hurdles/transitions that Jen managed perfectly. I wanted a specific transition from a video I showed and Jen was able to transition from it very smoothly! She also was very aware of the vibe. I was so lost in the moment I lost track of time and she was very on top of making sure we got all of our scheduled plans done! We had a big range of ages at our wedding and a consistently packed, high energy dance floor thanks to Jen's work! Non-Traditional Wedding DJs was easy to communicate with and the worksheet provided helped us a lot, especially since we did not use a wedding planner. Would definitely recommend them no matter what you are going for!”

He sent along a planning packet for us to start thinking about what we wanted, and also sent some check-in emails as we got close to our wedding day. “The short version of this review: if you want the music at your wedding to be awesome and exactly what YOU love to hear, and without cheesey emcee vibes, hire Marcus! Marcus did such an amazing job DJing our wedding, we couldn’t be more thrilled. He is extremely thoughtful with his work. He took careful note of my husband and my musical tastes and preferences, as well as the vibe of our wedding, instead of playing a standard tired playlist. Per our request, he blended in some Latin music seamlessly. The dance floor was full and lively all night long, exactly as we had hoped for! He played songs we hadn’t requested but that we love, leaving me wondering how he could have known so well what to play. He also respected our “do not play” list, as I found out multiple guests requested songs on it and he politely declined. Marcus is very thorough and organized which made working with him so easy- he was on top of all the details, order of events/cues, even reviewed proper name pronunciation with us in advance. The event manager at our venue said she loved working with him and was very impressed. Marcus has such a kind and warm personality, and a really special talent- we feel so lucky that he was part of our big day!”

They had great communication - it was easy to coordinate with them through their app and they always replied to our texts quickly. On the day of, their DJ played a wonderful variety of songs that kept our dance floor packed all night. The song selections were perfect and the lights really added to the fun, lively atmosphere. Our DJ was especially great, even dancing some merengue with one of our guests! We couldn't have asked for a better entertainment team to make our wedding celebration so special.”
