Violinist, Rachel Alexander is a graduate of the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College. She has also studied under Ludmilla Stote. Rachel holds her MA in Music Education from Hunter College and was a participant in the Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at The Juilliard School. ​ ​Her professional performance career includes performances in such venues as Carnegie Hall, David Geffen Hall, MoMA, The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, the Pepsico Performing Arts Center and Symphony Space. She can also be heard on movie soundtracks and recordings of several rock bands and singer/songwriters.

I will work with you to select just the right music for your wedding ceremony, reception, cocktail party, corporate function, church service, or holiday gathering. My performance attire is concert black; however, I do try to match the level of formality of the event.
I provide a free event consultation where we discuss the music for your event. If there is a song that you would like me to perform that I don't currently have in my repertoire, I will be happy to learn something new.
Of course! I absolutely love performing for weddings and would be happy to provide the music for your ceremony and/or cocktail hour.
I always arrive no less than 1 hour before an event! I like to be able to unpack and set up with lots of time to spare. I also like to the opportunity to quietly warm up and introduce myself to the people around me.
I am a classically trained violinist, so my music is mostly classical. I am happy to play music from other genres as well. My favorite composers are Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Barber, Sibelius and Tchaikovsky. I enjoy music by Sara Barielles, Ed Sheeran, Ingrid Michaelson, The Civil Wars, Joseph and more. Broadway musicals are also super fun!
Of course! During our pre-event consultation, we will discuss music selections. If you have a request, please let me know. I will be happy to learn a new piece or song.
What makes me different from other musicians is that I truly enjoy working with couples to make sure that their big day is extra special. It is truly magical when the right song is chosen that truly reflects the couple so perfectly. Music can be so powerful and when played correctly and with lots of love, it can truly make any moment extra special.
