“We worked with Andrea and the catering team from Chris' Ono Grinds in North Park for our wedding in December 2023 in Solana Beach. From the beginning of our planning we knew we wanted delicious food for our guests and Andrea and her team delivered! She was involved in our planning process early, participated in video chats to figure out our requests and she went out to see the venue herself to make sure the plan was a good fit for our event. We received many compliments from our guests about the food (the spam musubi appetizers were a particular hit along with the kalbi entree) and no one left hungry! On the day itself we had great servers during set up and serving in the event, very professional and helpful throughout. We recommend anyone planning a big event to consider bringing in the delicious food from Chris' Ono Grinds”

“My husband and I love pizza, so we wanted to incorporate that in our wedding! East Coast Pizza is one of out favorites in the area, so I didn't hesitate to have them as our caterer. We did a buffet, and they even helped with desserts & beverages. Clean set up, and they always made sure food was being replenished. The price was super fair and we had more than enough food for guests. Plus the truck that they operate out of is super cool, guests were very impressed with it as well!”

“Sam was an AMAZING day of coordinator for our wedding, it would not have gone as smooth without her help. She is a wedding day essential! Booking with Simon was super easy, they are easily reachable by email. The food was great and everyone loved the tiramisu we had picked out for dessert. We also hired our DJ, Alex, through them and he was so fun and hyped everyone up on the dancefloor. Our bartender was even able to recognize everyones drink orders by the end of the night! I would highly recommend their services to anyone wanting to book several vendors through one company.”

“What a wonderful day and a more awesome team to work with :) Abbey catering was beyond amazing and blew our expectations! From the start Will, who signed us up, was most helpful and really knew his information. We clicked instantly and it was such a pleasure to talk with him and meet him in person. We signed up for the tasting before signing with Abbey Catering and that was such a great experience. We got to meet Will in person and there was so much food to try and luckily bring home. After meeting Will we really had a great feeling and signed up within that week. The food was incredible at the tasting, and it was hard choosing which entrée and hours d’oeuvres to choose from since everything was so good. Chuck, our wedding coordinator, was beyond great and so helpful. He was such an asset to have on our side and really made the day go smooth. He was also so friendly and great to work with. We really felt like we made friends with our Abbey team. There were absolutely no hiccups whatsoever and I was so calm the whole day. David, our catering lead, was another amazing team member. He was right there to offer us food first and make sure we had enough of our share. The rest of the catering team always made us a priority too and I was very hungry after the ceremony in between pictures so that was so great. We ordered the following for tray passed hors d’oeuvres: petite beef wellington, wild mushroom arancini, bruschetta, and bacon wrapped stuffed dates. We opted for the dual entrée of the boneless short ribs, and the panko-herb crusted chicken with vegetables and the truffle smashed potatoes. All were so good and I wish I could eat them all again. Our guests could not stop raving about the food. They even made dietary restriction meals for several of our guests, and they said it was one of the best vegan/vegetarian meals they have ever had. We really were impressed with the food and so glad we went with Abbey as that was important for us to have really good tasting food. We opted for the whole package with their vendors for flowers, DJ, photographer, and cake. Best decision ever!!! We had Emerald and Ivy for the florist and my goodness Mishele, and the Abbey team put together exactly what I pictured in my mind! Such beautiful flowers and we rented bud vases and candles from her. DJ Abel from the Wedding Entertainment Collective was beyond amazing! He played our songs and knew the vibes we were going for. The dance floor was a hit, and our guests were dancing the whole night. Everyone was telling us the DJ was so good! Misha, our photographer, was amazing and made us feel so comfortable. The pictures are so beautiful! The cake and mini cupcakes from Sugar Bears Sweet Provisions were out of this world! I’m so glad we saved our wedding cake because we ate it the next day. Our guests loved the mini cupcakes too and we even had enough to give out at treats and take home. We really are so grateful we decided to go with Abbey catering. They really went above and beyond. The whole team, Will, Chuck, David, and the caterers were 10 out of 10 Thank you so much and to the Abbey vendors for making our day even more special!”

Brian and Alexa met in 2016 when he was pursuing his dream operating a café in North Park. This venture was called Grinds & Vine Coffee Bar, where the community was the most important factor of his establishment. One day Alexa came in as a guest to study and have some coffee. She was quickly mesmerized by the PB&J sandwich and their delicious cold brew options. They shared some great conversations about food and life then quickly became friends, which then blossomed into something more. Who would have ever thought a PB&J, a cold brew and a conversation would turn into love and marriage.

“Truly a remarkable experience from start to finish, they operate with such excellence! We have been using Off the Vine Dining for a couple years now. They have done intimate events with us, and some of our larger company events with hundreds of people. Brian has always been extremely helpful curating menus with me, all of the menu offerings are so fantastic that I have always had a problem selecting items. He goes above and beyond with taking in account all of our dietary restrictions that some of our guests have, he has even customized and created some menu items for us. I was so touched at one of our events when Brian overheard one of our guests say they didn't do dairy, and was able to make some small adjustments so that the guest could still enjoy every dish. That's above and beyond! Brian and his team always do a beautiful, professional, and efficient job setting up, serving, and cleaning up. The decor is stunning, they have fresh flowers and everything is presented so wonderfully. They even left my kitchen cleaner then when they arrived, I told my husband lets host an event next time we need to clean our kitchen, hahaha!! The service is always amazing, the team is so cheerful and always smiling during the events. You could tell they really loved serving people, it was such a delight to experience. Most importantly, the food is delicious and I have always received wonderful feedback from our guests who enjoyed the culinary offerings very much.
