Our business started back in '09 at local Farmer's Markets, and we have been grateful to expand ever since. Our team and family have built up a cozy brick and mortar in North Park, and a fast-paced location inside Liberty Public Market in Point Loma. San Diego is the best city in the world and we love the rapport we have built within the community. We look forward to continued growth as we spread our Aloha spirit to more venues and customers.

What sets us apart are the genuine connections we make with all of our customers. We are excited to get to know YOU, and learn how we can best implement ourselves into your special event. We will do everything in our nature to make your event as seamless as possible. Promise!

    Above and beyond!!

    Okay, you have to book Ono Grinds for your wedding. You just have to. Our wedding day was perfect and beautiful, but the thing that we keep hearing about from our guests was how amazing dinner was!! We ordered enough food for our guests to have multiple plates — expecting leftovers. There were none. Our guests loved it so much it was completely devoured! The end product of course is so important, but I have to mention the experience we had working with Andrea. She went above and beyond to make our day feel as perfect as it was! We did a tasting with Andrea to determine our perfect menu and she not only brought the delicious food but brought her wealth of knowledge as well! She worked with our venue to make sure everything was taken care of and that we didn’t have a worry in the world. Our day was perfect, and it’s because we worked with the most amazing people, and Andrea was a huge part of it all. Andrea, we cannot thank you enough for everything you did to help make our day as special as it was. Thank you and your team from the bottom of our hearts!!

    The Chris’ One Grinds Island Grill

    Chris' Ono Grinds Island Grill - North Park was an amazing catering choice for our wedding. Their communication was fantastic, as they made sure we had exactly everything we wanted. The taste of the food was absolutely delicious and was by far some of the best we have ever had. They contributed greatly to our special day by ensuring we enjoyed every second, going above and beyond to make our wedding perfect. We highly recommend Chris' Ono Grinds Island Grill to any couple looking for an exceptional catering experience.

    Chris' Ono Grinds Island Grill were a HIT!

    Chris' Ono Grinds Island Grill was our number one choice from our available options for our wedding reception @ The Lane, San Diego. We love hawaiian food, and the menu options they gave us were perfect for our 250 guests! Even when we decided to add on a few more items about a month or so before the wedding, they were very communicative and helpful in making that work for us. The food and service itself were fantastic. We had a number of guests come up to us saying how much they enjoyed the food. And of course, they were kind enough to pack my wife and I some extra food at the end of night. We can't thank them enough, and would definitely recommend them to other wedding couples!

    Wedding Catering - June 2024

    We have no words to describe how incredibly lucky and happy we feel to have worked with Andrea and her team at Chris' Ono Grinds catering. We selected Chris' Ono Grinds as our wedding caterers because we are loyal customers of many years and so we knew the food would be delicious. What we did not know was that the service would be even better! Andrea and her team made the whole process feel so effortless, they provided great communication from start to finish, a delicious tasting experience, services like cake cutting and bussing, great pricing, and Andrea was just an absolute pleasure to work with. Our guests loved the food and we, of course, will continue to be the most loyal customers.

    So Happy We Went With Chris' Ono Grinds!

    We hired Ono Grinds to cater our wedding, and WOW they did not disappoint! Everything was smooth from the very beginning, communication was easy, the tasting was amazing, and execution was flawless. Andrea, their catering manager, was very detailed, patient, and so pleasant to work with. We still have guests commenting on how amazing the food was, and the wedding was months ago! Definitely will go back from future catering needs!

We do add a small fee to all orders which goes straight towards our vehicle needs and maintenance.
We do! We love coordinating a meetings with couples, our catering manager, and kitchen manager. This is a great way to get to know each other, eat some delicious food, and start brainstorming initial food and service ideas. Bonus: tastings are complimentary :)
We do ask that all final numbers are decided upon a week before the event. This helps to ensure our kitchen (and staff) is fully prepared to give you the best experience possible.
We do not, but we have collected contact information from local companies that we have had only positive experiences working alongside of at events
We are happy to stay flexible on this. From initial inquiry, to the day of, we are happy to coordinate meetings as often as needed to help put couples at ease. The more info we get out there, the more seamless it feels for us and our team as well!
We love the personable aspect of our business, and work privately to make sure payments and deposits are done in a way that make that couple feel most comfortable with knowing our services are guaranteed.
The sooner, the better! We are surprised with inquiries all year round and work on a first-come, first-served basis.
Absolutely! We can recommend items that meet dietary needs, and are open to reconfiguring recipes if needed (on a case-by-case basis). Our handwritten signs can also include allergen notes to help put guests at ease.
First and foremost, we would ask you what your expectations are so we can decide how to best meet them. From set up, to clean up with are happy to help you out with anything in between: - plating food for guests in line v allowing guests to self serve. -buffet service: we provide all serving equipment needed and are responsible for our own trash. - water service: we can help get initial pours out on tables and discuss refill preferences - bussing: we can help be responsible for proper maintenance of rented place settings (we are open to more than what is listed above) Note: service charges will vary based on guest needs.
