“First, I think it's important to be transparent when posting reviews. I am reviewing Scarlet Oak Studio in exchange for my music license to be covered for my wedding video. That being said, everything I am writing are my genuine thoughts. They did not stipulate that it had to be a positive review. I love my pictures from my wedding day! I think that Scarlet Oak truly knows what they are doing and work so hard to make sure everything looks great, and everyone feels good. The team I worked with the day of my wedding were amazing and I would work with them over and over. I often don't like myself in pictures and I love every single one! My video is my favorite thing ever. They really captured the day, and it was so fun to relive my wedding and reception by watching it back. I cannot say enough good things about it!! It was longer than I expected, and I loved all the editing that went into it. If you are on the fence about having them do your wedding video, I would go for it. You will not regret it and at the end of the day you won't remember the money. Speaking of money, I believe that you get what you pay for, which is why they are on the more expensive end. Of all the companies we compared, they were the most expensive. We did feel like they pushed us a little towards the more expensive options. They were so gracious in offering us a friends/family discount due to us knowing a photographer from the company, but the discount was supposed to be for a free hour, and when we wanted to do the extended (10 hour) day, they instead said they would throw in drone footage. We would have preferred the free hour and felt like it was not what was initially promised and neither of us was very impressed with the drone footage. That's really the only negative thing that I can come up with though. They definitely deserve 5 stars for their photographers, videographers, and assistants, as well as the quality of their final product. The only downside is the expense, but again you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend them!”

“There are wedding photographers and then there’s Stacie. I’ve never been so impressed by someone who can see the perfect shot and instruct my less-than-photogenic husband and I to create the photo. Her calm presence made us both feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera. Stacie was so sweet throughout the entire process and really wanted to understand our story first, which is a direct result of our final photos! She was able to effortlessly capture our personality and the energy of the day in the best shot. In addition to being a master photographer, she was able to put everyone involved in the photos at ease to facilitate meaningful moments. She was also quick to pivot in last minute scenarios (i.e. my dad and I had to switch locations for our first look and Stacie figured it out in the blink of an eye & it was PERFECT!). She was a great communicator and offered so much great advice in not only picking a videographer but also finalizing our grand exit; she was direct in what she felt comfortable shooting and what she recommended for the lighting, etc. If Stacie is available, book her immediately. She’s quick to communicate, gave us great recommendations for our shot list, and made sure our wants and desires came first. She captured all our top priority shots and then some! What also blew us away was her talent to be everywhere to capture the moment but also remain in the background and unnoticeable. We are obsessed with EVERY SINGLE ONE of our photos and can’t recommend her enough!”

“We had such a great experience working with Zack from start to finish. He was responsive to our questions, genuinely kind, and always open to hearing what we wanted for our day. What really set him apart was how natural his photos felt, they captured real moments instead of stiff poses, and the images truly looked like us. We were thrilled when he showed up to one of our pre-wedding events (an awesome skate/bike session with the groom) without being asked; he got shots we never would have had otherwise and felt like part of our celebration rather than just an observer. “We had the most amazing time working with Ali! We had kind of a long engagement and we initially started working with Ali over a year and a half before our wedding to get our engagement photos done. Not only were the photos beautiful, but Ali made us feel super comfortable and at ease throughout our session. Leading up to our wedding day, Ali was amazing at coordinating the day of timeline with our coordinator and making sure that all the elements that were important to us were included so that we had enough time to capture the moments. One of my favorite things about working with Ali is her calm presence. Every time I was stressed about something in the planning process about the timeline I would talk to Ali and she would immediately make me feel at ease.
