“I live in Houston so had to plan a San Diego rehearsal dinner long distance, which took a good bit of faith, especially throughout months of uncertainty of whether the event could even take place because of COVID. Wild Thyme was on a list of several caterers approved by my venue, The Thursday Club; I selected only three for quotes. I chose Wild Thyme based on its website, menus, and the fact that Gina Eliason, Director of Sales, was easy to work with, listening to what was important to me and making spot-on suggestions. I could only hope that the dinner would be good, as I was unavailable for a tasting. Chef Dawn's food, including vegetarian, beef, and sea bass, was absolutely delicious, and the portions were surprisingly generous and beautifully plated. From appetizers to desserts, every bite was delectable. The service team was very accommodating, flexible, and professional, including when we all dropped our forks during the salad course to run out to the balcony to take sunset photos. Overall, the set up, food, and service led by Ryan were outstanding, and certainly exceeded my expectations. It didn't hurt that wonderful bartender Chad is also from Texas! My brother, who has a long history of hotel/resort food and beverage experience, including The Ritz Carlton, gave the food a big thumbs up. All of my guests were very impressed and thankful, and the gorgeous bride and my sweet son loved everything.”
