They Understood the Assignment
Five months later, one of the things we still think about most from our wedding is the food and how much care Personal Touch Dining put into making it personal to us. Incorporating my Korean heritage was incredibly important to me. I had always dreamed of serving galbi at my wedding. Korean short ribs were something my mom made for my birthdays growing up, so having them there was a connection to my family and something that felt like home. PTD completely embraced the idea. We worked with their chefs on a Korean-American menu with galbi, gochujang salmon, rice cake skewers (tteokbokki), and japchae. They also got creative, making galbi sliders and an incredible galbi bite on a crispy rice cake chip with kimchi aioli. They understood the assignment. After our first tasting, I had specific feedback on the galbi because it meant so much to me. The chefs took it completely in stride, listened, and worked with us to get it exactly where we wanted it. They absolutely nailed it. Members of my Korean family couldn’t believe the galbi hadn’t been made by a Korean chef. Ellen’s Midwestern family and our friends from all different backgrounds raved about the food too. We heard “best food I’ve had at a wedding” multiple times that night and afterward. Given how personal the menu was to us, that meant a lot. We went buffet style and are so glad we did. Everyone could try the dishes we’d put so much thought into, and PTD executed it beautifully. They also accommodated vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary needs without compromising flavor. The japchae, for example, worked as a vegan dish while fitting naturally with the rest of the menu. That flexibility continued with dessert. We brought in our own wedding cake and Korean cream puffs to continue the theme, and PTD made it easy for us to do both. We had a lot of specific ideas, and they consistently found ways to make them happen. The tasting itself was one of our favorite memories from wedding planning. Ellen and I went with my family and our planner, Ann, and everyone at PTD was so welcoming. We ate, talked through the menu, gave feedback, and had a genuinely great time. It felt like a great dinner out with our family. Samantha was incredible throughout the process. She was responsive, thoughtful, and always willing to help. She even saved one of our signature cocktails the morning of our wedding. Amazon failed to deliver the honey syrup for Ellen’s Bee’s Knees, and Samantha and the PTD team found it that morning and made sure the cocktail happened as planned. When you’re getting married in a few hours, having someone take a problem like that off your plate means everything. We also loved putting together our tablescape in PTD’s showroom. We chose a rose-toned setting with floral plates that tied in beautifully with our spring flowers and venue. Finally, the wedding day staff was wonderful. Everyone was incredibly kind and attentive. They checked in on us, made sure we had what we needed, and were genuinely sweet throughout the night. We felt very cared for. That’s what stands out most about PTD. We came to them with a lot of ideas, some traditional, some personal, and some pretty specific. Samantha, the chefs, and the entire team listened to what mattered to us and consistently found a way to turn those ideas into reality. We’re incredibly grateful for everything they did to make our wedding feel like us and would recommend Personal Touch Dining without hesitation.

Delicious
Our caterer was very good. They were able to accommodate a wide ethnic menu across multiple cultures. They were receptive to feedback at the tasting. All of our guests had good things to say about the food, which was important to us. Ailish and Samantha were very clear about what kind of tables, access and parking they needed at the venue and there wasn’t any miscommunication. They were able to accommodate last-minute requests. Overall everything went very smooth and was delicious.

Perfect Caterer for Scripps Seaside Forum Wedding
Samantha Contreras and her team did an amazing job from start to finish. Our November wedding was perfect at Scripps Seaside Forum. We chose PTD because of the reasonable quotes and the fact we could trust them with all rentals. That was the best decision we made! Samantha handled everything from flatware to drapery. For around 100 people we ended up spending a little under 17k for rentals, tray passed appetizers, full buffet, and churros. It did absolutely feel like a white glove experience which justified spending that much. Especially in an industry where you can spend that much on much more underwhelming service. Our wedding day ran smoothly despite the downpour of rain. We loved that they knew the venue and worked seamlessly with our day of coordinator. The food was amazing we cannot stop getting compliments on the red wine demi glace short-ribs that were actually better than they were in tasting. We had a perfect amount of food. Thank you to Samantha and her team!
