From the moment we stepped into The View at Pepperrell Cove, we knew it was something special, but little did we know just how much they would exceed our expectations every step of the way. Our wedding day was amazing and our hearts were so full! And that was all thanks to the incredible team at The View at Pepperrell Cove! The venue itself is absolutely stunning – The VIEW cannot be beat, especially at sunset. We had an intimate (30 guest) winter wedding and it was a perfect blend of elegance, charm and coziness. The weather did not really cooperate, but the venue was still gorgeous. Every detail, from the décor to the ambiance, was thoughtfully curated, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for our guests. But what really made our experience unforgettable was the staff. The team at The View at Pepperrell Cove, went above and beyond to make sure everything was seamless. They were incredibly attentive, professional, and above all, kind and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. From the early planning stages to the last dance, they were there to guide us, offer suggestions, and take care of every detail. The food was incredible, our guests are still raving about the raw bar. Special shout-out to Donna and Dionna who were there every step of the way, making sure the day went off without a hitch. Their kindness, dedication and passion for what they do truly shone through, and we felt completely supported and cared for throughout the entire process. We had some special circumstances that they went above and beyond accommodating for us and they treated us like family. We can honestly say that our wedding at The View at Pepperrell Cove, was more beautiful, smooth, and stress-free than we ever could have imagined. If you're looking for a venue that not only provides a stunning setting but also a team that is committed to making your big day extraordinary, look no further. And only an hour from Boston or Portland. Please inquire via the form found on our website to connect with our team for more details and to schedule a tour of Scotland Fields!

Why you'll love this venue

  • Multiple event spaces
  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Classic, vintage atmosphere

Venue considerations

  • Not wheelchair accessible
  • Venue feels large for events with small guest lists
  • Does not have a dance floor
I looked into countless wedding venues all across New England, but when my then-fiancé and I arrived at Scotland Fields for our venue tour, I immediately knew that it was the place we needed to host our wedding weekend. That gut feeling that this was somewhere really special never wore off, and I know that all of our guests felt that same feeling throughout the entire weekend. We also don't have enough positive things to say about the Scotland Fields team. My husband and I had a very specific vision about how we wanted our weekend to come together, and the team was nothing but accommodating to allow us to create the weekend that we envisioned. They were responsive when we had questions, helpful when we needed recommendations and guidance, and prompt to resolve anything that came up throughout the weekend (not that there was much of anything to resolve!!). We could not recommend this venue more highly, and will forever be grateful for the weekend that Scotland Fields allowed us to curate!

Saltonstall Farm
Rating: 5.0 (2 reviews)
Stratham, NH
  • Up to 200 guests
  • Raw space
  • Indoor & outdoor
  • Starts at $9,000

Historic, breath taking 4 story barn The farm and barn are about 200 years old, and the barn was originally used for cows. Over the years, it has been very well taken care of, so the original beams are still there, in sizes and shapes that you just can't get anymore! The owners are the third generation in their family to take care of the property and are very grateful to be the current stewards. The barn renovations completed in 2020 and it is all ADA compliant and up to code. In the barn, there is a full sound system, 14 chandeliers, a beautiful live edge bar top, two high end composting toilets (the flushing kind!), massive barn blue doors on each end, and a grand entrance staircase. The barn holds up to 200 people and is big enough that you don't have to rent a tent even with tables and chairs, a major benefit and money saver! In the event of rain, you can use the barn as a ceremony and reception space.

Why you'll love this venue

  • Private area for the wedding party
  • Unique barn setting
  • Wheelchair accessible

Venue considerations

  • Does not allow pets
  • Large venue, not ideal for small guest lists
  • No all-inclusive dining options
Sophie and Kyle are down to earth, caring, and a joy to work with. We planned a wedding for June of 2020 and had to postpone the reception by a year, which was no problem at all. The farm is a truly idyllic setting, and the 5-story newly renovated barn is astoundingly beautiful and fully equipped for multimedia experiences. Everyone who attended our party had a well-deserved blast after sheltering in place for so long. Thank you, Saltonstalls! Best wishes for your new adventures. <3

Based on previous reviews of weddings at the Colony, we lowered our expectations for wedding day but stuck with the venue as it is stunning, large enough for all of our guests, and in our preferred location of Kennebunkport. Our wedding exceeded expectations and was PERFECT, other than the cloudy day. Nicole is the best! Since we started planning over a year ago, there have been three different wedding coordinators at the Colony and we are SO grateful that Nicole was the one with us in the final months and on our day. She really executed every little detail of our day to make it perfect. Nicole provided such great insight and recommendations, a testament to her years of experience. The Colony is lucky to have her! Of course we could not have had such an amazing wedding weekend without the wonderful staff at the Colony. We are seriously blown away by all of the hotel staff and the staff on the day of, they were extremely prompt, professional, and helpful to make our vision come alive and stick to our requested timeline. The chef and kitchen staff were able to serve 190 entrees in 20 minutes, incredible! The food was also delicious, we received several compliments about the appetizers, entrees, late night food, and morning after breakfast. Most of our guests stayed at the Colony and found the rooms lovely and comfortable. The new Coveside rooms provided a great option for guests seeking more modern accommodations.

I had my eye on The Grove at Briar Barn Inn since it was simply a blueprint on an Instagram post. From the start, I knew it was going to be where I would get married someday. There is just something so quintessentially charming about the post and beam restaurant and the quaint New England Inn. The entire experience working with The Grove was great. We picked December 8th for not only the idea of a winter wedding but also for the holiday decor and availability for our preferred vendors. They were flexible in putting together the details and stuck to all the outlined dates and deadlines. We were assigned our wedding coordinator, Jeannine, about six weeks out as they said, and we were able to have our wedding details meeting soon after. The payment portal was easy to use, and the planning pod was intuitive and a great spot to keep important details in order. Jeannine answered all my questions promptly, and in the week leading up to the wedding, she was available for us to drop off all the decor ahead of time and spent time reviewing our vision one last time. On the day of, she was present, available, and helpful. She was detailed and organized and never pushy. She let us have our day and was there to help transition to the different elements seamlessly, paying attention to all the details so we wouldn't have to. Our guests have had only positive things to say about the entire day from the incredible food and the overall atmosphere. The only critique I have of the entire experience is the check-in process at the Inn. We had a 20 room block and ended up with 29 of the 30 rooms booked by our guests. The Inn has a very strict 2pm early check-in for 50 fee or 3pm otherwise check-in. We had a Sunday wedding in December where we had a first look and formal portraits at 2pm before a 4:00 ceremony because of the early sunset. We weren't able to stay Saturday night due to another wedding buy-out. The Grove accommodated me by making the hospitality suite available for us to get ready in; however, the Inn did not accommodate the groom getting ready. We rented out the Silo/Library for 250 to try to have a space for the men to get ready, but they didn't set up the privacy screen and there were too many people milling around for him to get changed in the non-private space. After a lot of inquiry from our wedding coordinator, our officiant, and our makeup artist, they finally let him into the room at 1:45 for the additional 50, but at that point it was only enough time for him to drop his phone and wallet. He ended up changing in the single stall bathroom in the basement of the Inn, which is a nice bathroom of course, but we would have liked a little more flexibility for us to have 1 room with early check-in to give him a bit more privacy. Flipping one room early for the bride and groom doesn't seem like a lot to ask in the grand scheme of the day or even offering some alternatives - we likely would have paid for a full extra night even if we couldn't get into the room the night before just to have the spot, but they didn't give us any options to work with until 1:45 p.m. ahead of 2pm call time. My recommendation for future couples is to negotiate into the wedding contract for something ahead of time if you could potentially run into the same issue, especially if you're out of towners who don't have other options nearby.

We had an amazing experience with the Barn at Union Lake Orchard! Karen and her family made the planning process easy from start to finish and were very accommodating the entire time. The Atlantic Ocean Room at Elks Club at Bass Rocks provided a clean, pretty venue with a great view for our wedding. The events planner there was generally helpful when asked, but at times seemed to try to push her own agenda rather than fully listening to our preferences. Communication could lag at times, and I felt the team was a bit forgetful with information. However, the bar service was excellent, and overall the venue was easy to work with. While not perfect, it was a great location that worked well with our separate vendors.

We got married at Field to Fork Farm on August 9th, 2025 and it was everything we dreamed of and more. It was an idyllic New England farm wedding with rolling hills, and farm animals straight out of a fairytale. The venue owners, Patrick and Daniela and their children are such kind down-to-Earth people and really made the wedding process fun and stress free. This venue is unique in that it’s really a blank slate and up to you what you choose for your wedding vision, from the ceremony layout, to the tent, to caterers, and decorations. Bringing in our own vendors took more leg work on our part, but it was well worth it as this made our wedding feel very special since we got to pick vendors to suit our taste. Patrick and Daniela were so helpful at answering our questions through the entire process, and allowed us to stop by to walkthrough the farm as needed for the planning process. On the day of our wedding Patrick and Daniela were so helpful making sure everything was well prepared from the ceremony setup to helping the vendors as they arrived. We had a few guests with difficulties walking, and Patrick kindly drove them to the ceremony spot in the south field in the golf cart. One of the highlights of this venue is that it’s a working family farm. They have so many cute animals including cows, donkeys, geese, chicken, and goats with 3 babies which were a huge hit with our guests who got to hold them! At one point there had to be at least 40 of our guests around the goats haha! Patrick even had the animals come into the pen closest to the tent so our guests could easily walk over to see them. Speaking of animals, the venue is dog friendly so our precious dog got to be part of our special day! The farm landscape is so beautiful, and Patrick and Daniela are constantly working to beautify their farm through projects like their new vineyard. We didn’t have to go crazy with decorations since the farm had so much natural beauty. This made for great photos. The farm is expansive, and our guests enjoyed walking around during cocktail hour and after dinner. There are so many scenic spots tucked away throughout the farm, such as their pond which we snuck off to for private vows on the dock before the ceremony, and photos in the canoe after dinner. A very unique part of this venue, is that camping is allowed! We ended up staying the night and camping and so did several of our friends as an after party. We had so much fun, and so did our friends. It was a great choice for us and our guests who wanted to continue the party without having to worry about driving home. We were allowed to use the space for the whole weekend, which was super helpful for setting up and packing up everything as we brought a lot of things in ourselves. We chose to have our wedding rehearsal at the farm as well, and it was a great experience! Another thing we did unique to the farm was include Field to Fork Farm spices as gift favors for our guests, which were a hit! Field to Fork Farm has a little farm store with delicious meats, spices, and other products for sale that we enjoyed purchasing each time we visited leading up to the wedding, so we knew we wanted to incorporate something from the farm for our guests. Overall, we highly recommend Field to Fork Farm as a wedding venue! Thank you to the Connelly family for making our wedding experience incredible! Professional photo credit: Carly Storro Photography
