About this venue
Maine's only greenhouse event venue exclusively designed for wedding receptions and ceremonies. 2021 marks 72 years of Highland Farm’s history in Scarborough, Maine. From the beginning, the property has been operating as a greenhouse. In fact, in the 1800’s, Highland Farm was the largest supplier of cut flowers in the Northeast. Highland Farm is a family owned and operated business, and the undeniable sense of family and welcome energy is palpable the moment you step on the grounds. The saying is true here: “you come as strangers and leave as family.” The Greenhouse and The Farm has been run by 3rd generation owners, Joe and Christine since 2008, but Joe and Christine’s involvement in the farm runs far deeper than ownership. In 2009, the couple was married in one of the working greenhouses

Maine's only greenhouse venue designed exclusively for weddings and special events.
The Greenhouse is nearly 2,200 square feet under our clear roof as well as two sprawling covered porches. The peak ceiling height is 18' with retractable walls, allowing you the option to customize the space allowing the cool breeze on a hot summer day or shielding from the elements should rain arrive. A beautiful shiplap wall connects the Greenhouse to the adjacent building which houses the bar service area as well as bathroom access.

Unbelievably beautiful venue
I highly recommend booking The Greenhouse for your wedding due to the beauty of the location and amount of services you receive within your package. We booked the venue back in 2022 for a 2024 wedding, but due to unforeseen circumstances we had to delay our wedding by a year. Jessica was so understanding and helped us reschedule for a weekend the in 2025 without any hassle. As for the venue, they provide a luxury bathroom trailer, a flower credit to utilize their baskets and planters to place around the venue. They provide circular tables and chairs at no additional cost. They allow you to access to the venue from 9am on Friday to 2pm on Sunday, giving you plenty of time for set up and clean up. There is also no need to book a dance floor, as the concrete floor is smooth and serves that purpose just fine! The bar is also fully functional and removes the need to rent a bar top as well. The staff and venue owners are just so amazing and you can tell they care about the couples they work with. Their venue is affordable and beautiful, leaving little need to spend money on a ton of decor. I will definitely be coming back to this review to post photos once they are published by the photographer, because I would love for couples to see just how amazing their wedding could be!
Wow. Just wow
The Greenhouse at Highland Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, their communication was efficient and effective - they were always quick to respond to our questions and provide helpful information. On the day of the wedding, everything went so smoothly thanks to their meticulous planning and execution. The space itself was absolutely beautiful, and the day truly felt seamless from start to finish. We and our guests were blown away by the stunning sights all around us! The Greenhouse at Highland Farm exceeded all of our expectations - it was the perfect backdrop for our dream wedding. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!
FANTASTIC
We booked two years previous to our wedding. It was everything and more we could have wanted! From the bridal suite, to the venue, we were fully immersed and in love with the property. Thank you SO much Highland Farms for letting us host our wedding at your Greenhouse. The freedom to take photos among your gardens was beautiful.
The perfect venue
This venue was absolutely perfect for our August wedding! Everything was picturesque and elegant, giving a intimate and upscale feel to every detail. On top of that the staff was absolutely amazing, highly communicative and incredibly helpful for every step of the way. I HIGHLY recommend this venue to anyone looking for an outdoor venue with ceremony and reception space together.
