Nestled amid 130 acres of rolling fields and tranquil woodlands in Durham, NH, Emery Farmstay offers you and your partner a breathtaking blend of history, charm, and rural elegance on your wedding day. Built in 1803, The Big Barn is at the heart of the property, and its fabulous post-and-beam structure provides a welcoming space for both intimate and lavish affairs. You and a select group of guests will enjoy the luxurious on-site accommodations, thoughtfully appointed for this exact occasion. A Little Bit of History Repeating Founded in 1660 by Joseph and Mary Smith, Emery Farmstay proudly holds the distinction of being America’s oldest family farm, now lovingly cared for by the eleventh generation, David and Catherine. Beautifully restored historic homes, surrounded by pastures, blueberry fields, and the gentle rhythm of farm life, combine to create an atmosphere that is both timeless and deeply personal, a truly one-of-a-kind backdrop for a bespoke wedding celebration.

The Main House
Beautifully restored warm elegant farmhouse located on America's oldest family farm.
This warm, elegant 5,000 sq. ft. home features curated lighting, artwork, and thoughtfully selected furnishings throughout. The primary suite includes a king bed with an ensuite featuring a deep soaking tub and walk-in tile shower. The second bedroom offers a queen bed plus a single, with a walk-in closet, field views, and a private full bath. The third bedroom is a cozy single room, ideal for one adult.

This charming historic home was once a carriage house, originally built to store horse-drawn carriages. Today, it has been thoughtfully transformed into a cozy 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom retreat on part of Emery Farm, the oldest family-run farm in the US. Our family has lived and worked here for ten generations, and we hope it feels as meaningful to you as it does to us. It’s a wonderful place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and soak in the timeless beauty of rural NE.

Stunning venue with opportunities to make your own
Emery Farm Stays was a pleasure to work with as a wedding planner. The couple I worked with was able to truly make the space their own, from customizing the lighting to designing a flow that felt unique to their day. The owner was on site throughout the process, helping with vendor deliveries and ensuring everything ran smoothly — from parking to sound and everything in between. The farm itself is a beautiful setting with dedicated spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner and dancing. I would highly recommend Emery Farm Stays to any couple searching for a flexible, well-run, and beautiful wedding venue.
