Amazing Experience with Annie
Annie was the best! She was responsive to every question and treated each detail like it mattered, which made our planning process stress-free and enjoyable, even without a wedding planner. The venue itself is stunning and ideal for prioritizing guest experience with everything right on the hotel property and tons of other housing options for guests in the area, plus the ability to walk right onto the beach, into town, or to the bowling alley/arcade. We did family style and there was tons of food available for our guests, plus delicious desserts and we added a popcorn machine that Annie helped secure and rent for us. The staff were friendly and great about dietary restrictions and needs as well. On our wedding day, Annie's support went way beyond what we expected. She and her team kept everything on track, set up all the pieces of personalization that I brought (placecards, signs, guest book, etc) and even helped pin my stubborn dress sleeves multiple times throughout the day. During dinner, she took a stitchgun to my dress to quickly hem the front because I was tripping over it! Honestly, Annie was the best thing that happened to our wedding, and we can't thank the team at Union Bluff enough for making our day so special. Photo credit to Julie K. Gabrielle and Union Bluff were amazing!!
We had the very best experience getting married at Union Bluff in York, ME. Gabrielle was super organized and responsive, I never once wondered if things were being taken care of. Having her as our coordinator was like working with a friend, she was always calm, friendly, and professional. The actual wedding day she was an absolute angel. We had an elderly family member who needed some extra care with getting from point a to point b, and Gabrielle personally took care of her. When this family member was ready to leave, Gabrielle put together a huge to-go bag for her, including dessert. We just appreciated so much how above and beyond she went. She really took care of everyone and everything that day. It was just the most special day, and Gabrielle really made sure we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Thank you, Gabrielle!

Allergies Beware
We had high hopes for Union Bluff Meeting House, but unfortunately our wedding day didn’t match what we were promised. When we raised our concerns with our experience, we got an email back essentially saying ‘too bad, your problem’. I don’t think I’d have written this if they had even acknowledged the issues. There’s a road that goes around the ceremony space. Our video ended up with car noise in the background, and cars driving around your ceremony. Though the venue is not responsible for the surroundings, these are things that should have been explained in the upfront. The area around the ceremony space is open to the public, and there is nothing stopping strangers from wandering through. We chose the tent as a precaution, but it was small and felt cramped so there’s no good aisle photos. We experienced a safety issue when the bridal suite’s deck broke as our photographer stepped outside to get photos of the bride. Communication with the venue was slow. We were passed around through multiple coordinators. Booking the hotel rooms including the bridal suite was a nightmare. As it turns out, once the room block is full, there is no adding rooms. (This had been communicated differently when we chose the venue in the first place.) The reception (ballroom) and cocktail hour (patio) spaces were tight, and the dance floor was noticeably smaller than what we discussed during planning. We had a choreographed first dance that did not fit in the space, as the whole bridal party was told (not by us, but by employees) to stand on the dance floor in front of the DJ. This divided the already small dance floor in half. The food was the biggest letdown. At the very least, wedding food should be edible. We had raised multiple concerns at the tasting event months earlier, and been assured that these issues (timing, temperature, and allergies) would be taken care of on the wedding day. Be advised, it will only get worse here. My dietary restrictions were overlooked, and my meal was inedible, while guests received cold plates with undercooked dishes. I have a wheat allergy, and the appetizers that were set aside for us were served with allergen containing items. We had to restate the allergies to which one of the staff just took the items off the plate. Not sure about others allergies but I cannot eat any of that. We had been assured during planning, when we made the food selections, that there would only be one thing served that had gluten. This ended up not the case, though we had been assured in multiple conversations. Guest dietary restrictions were not fully respected, the venue’s response was “that’s your responsibility, not ours”. We had mislabeled one of the guests by putting their allergy under the wrong guest’s name and they were served nuts. I can only imagine how many other brides get incomplete RSVPs back from guests. But my allergy was ignored too so I don’t think correcting the label would have helped. Dinner took almost three hours, though we had been led to believe it would be less than two for plated (125 guests). We were instructed that we were not supposed to be moving around, so they could serve the food. I would have much rather walked around talking to my guests than stared at a plate of food that tasted worst than lemon rinds. If you have allergies or dietary needs, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

The Union Bluff was great! The lawn location for the ceremony was perfect. The reception ballroom was perfectly decorated and looked beautiful. The patio was a great place for a cocktail reception and they allowed us to have a cigar bar on the patio which was a big hit. We were impressed that their initial budget was spot on with the final bill! Most importantly Gabrielle Michaud was amazing! She was so helpful throughout the entire process and was so polished and professional. The entire team (shout out to Annie) at the UB was outstanding. My husband had no idea that we were Gabrielle's 1st wedding until the day after the wedding...we are both honored to have been her 1st wedding! Her professionalism and execution were that of someone with years of wedding experience! Would highly recommend!

Union Bluff is the best!
Our wedding at Union Bluff Meeting House exceeded every expectation we had! Gabrielle Michaud, our coordinator, was amazing and instrumental in making sure our wedding ran smoothly, from pre-planing phone calls, check in reminders, rehearsal day, and throughout the entire wedding event. The venue itself is truly special with the lawn and beach view creating a stunning ceremony backdrop, and the meeting house just steps away, having both indoor and outdoor spaces for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. We loved that guests could all stay at the hotel on-site and explore the charming York, Maine area at their leisure. Gabrielle truly went above and beyond on the day of, making me feel calm and taking us away after the ceremony for a breather and some appetizers. I’m so thankful to have had her on my wedding day and I couldn't recommend Union Bluff highly enough. We can’t wait to come back and visit for future anniversaries!
