“Seema made and saved our wedding many times over. We were initially intrigued by her economist background, but won over totally by her offering to handle communication with and incessant questions from our families. She never let on that this was frustrating or even irritating, though we can only imagine it was both. Each time we spoke with her, we were immediately put at ease. We dealt with several venues that were difficult to work with, and through each hurdle Seema calmly navigated us into a place of certainty that she would take care of it. On the Tuesday before our wedding, our caterers abruptly canceled. Seema let us know this information while also sharing she had multiple backup plans underway. She managed this so seamlessly we never once stopped to be anxious about it—in fact, we barely thought about it at all until showing up to our wedding to find that indeed there was catering present. Our venue was a natural wine bar, not accustomed to having weddings, and certainly not set up for it. There was not enough room for a traditional seated ceremony or an aisle. We went in with the understanding that this would feel like a DIY wedding, and to let go of any expectations of it looking a certain way. We hardly discussed decor or ceremony flow, relying instead on the bar's aesthetic. And yet, when we made our entrance, we were greeted by friends and families neatly arranged along the sides of the space with a clear aisle for us to walk through. How she managed to tetris the space so effectively we'll never know. We are two controlling, hyper-opinionated, exacting eldest daughters, and we felt completely at peace letting Seema take the reins on many aspects of our wedding. We shared our vision with her and were confident she would execute it. While we won't miss wedding planning, we already feel nostalgic of the times we got to spend with Seema.”

“We got married in June at GOC and it was the best day of our lives in every way, largely thanks to the hospitality from the GOC crew. If you're contemplating having your wedding here, DO IT. Truly unreal experience from start to finish. In the months leading up to the wedding, Stella, Chloe and Joe were so flexible and made themselves available every step of the way. From our food tasting, to tap/ cocktail selection - we really felt like we had complete agency. The GOC team helped us build a menu with all of our favorite foods. Everything was so delicious and fresh - so many people complimented the food. Food and drinks were plentiful. The bar staff was lighting fast and had plenty pre-poured - I don't think anyone waited for a drink for more than 5 seconds. Stella was a HUGE support in working with our various vendors. She integrated sweet little personal touches all around the venue - from our table number, to the menus. It feels like she thought of everything. We felt so supported every step of the way. We had our 120 person ceremony on the roof, cocktail hour downstairs, and dinner / dancing upstairs. The space is so flexible and comfortably fits more people than you'd think. We had a full band, a packed dance floor, and still somehow plenty of space to roam. The team flipped the space SO fast between our ceremony and reception. The skyline and bridge view made a stunning backdrop for our ceremony. The staff made sure we had drinks in our hands, and plates at our table. when we went upstairs We were truly blown away. The space is stunning as it and requires so little decor , if any at all. We loved that GOC has table cloths/ chairs/ tableware etc. It's really tough to find a true full service venue in NYC. They really can do it all, which allowed us to be present and focused only on having fun that day. I could go on and on and on, but I'll finish by saying that I'd be happy to talk to anyone about our experience because it was truly so perfect.”

I have to preface that we knew Elm Roastery very well before our wedding. They've established a place in the Elmhurst community for their excellent beverages made with a rotating selection of beans freshly-roasted on-site, delicious pastries, and for their dedication to creating a special space for community events and partnerships. We often frequented their cafe before our wedding, and every time we return for coffee now, it brings back warm memories. We were ecstatic to discover their coffee cart service, and quickly booked them for our wedding. We added-on ube lattes and 40 almond croissants, and custom cups & banner. They more than delivered, the design was elegant and charming! Our guests quickly snatched up the croissants, and were lined up for the coffee throughout the booking. It was a huge hit. We used our newlyweds' privilege to skip the line and managed to grab coffee and croissants for a much needed break in our fun but busy day. Compared to the gut-wrenching quotes from our other vendors (catering, photo, makeup), it was clear they offered a great value, without the severe "wedding tax" you'll see from your other vendors. It was a no-brainer for us. You won't regret hiring them for your wedding; we certainly didn't. They were one of the most memorable amenities at our wedding -- a treat for us, as much as it is for our guests. And you'll be happy to know you're supporting a small-business that is truly dedicated to improving the local community.”

“Marilyn was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. When we began looking for the right photographer for us, our primary criteria was someone who would photograph our day in a way that looked like art that could blend into the artwork in our house, and that’s exactly how we feel about Marilyn’s work. We are still struggling to pick which images to hang on our walls. Marilyn’s offering of both digital and film was also so fun and unique, and we chose to add folm onto both our engagement shoot and wedding day- totally worth it. Beyond her work being beautiful, she’s also incredibly communicative, quick to answer, and very organized. She always made herself available to us and was the perfect choice for two people who hate being the center of attention. We also did a pre wedding engagement shoot which Marilyn designed and chose the locations for, and it was epic. We love the photos from our engagement and wedding, and would definitely hire Marilyn again if ever we have an occasion for it! In terms of cost, of course that’s all going to depend on your specific budget, but my wife and I felt that Marilyn’s cost for her services was incredibly fair and appropriate, and we definitely would have spent ever more because we were passionate about working with her. When it came to the actual day of the wedding, Marilyn was super flexible and easy going! We absolutely recommend her, especially if you’re having a smaller wedding and love photos that are authentic to the day!”

However, after meeting with Una and discussing the seemingly infinite possibilities for the space (along with soaking in the spectacular views of NYC), we were completely sold on the venue. We are so glad we made the choice to celebrate our wedding at Sound River Studios! We took advantage of the dock at the venue and had our guests arrive to cocktail hour by boat which was a unique highlight. The dock is also a beautiful spot for photos! Una was beyond helpful in the planning process and she was always available to answer any questions we had or to brainstorm ideas with us and our vendors. We would highly recommend Sound River Studios to any couple looking to have a memorable NYC wedding!”

“Adrian and the team at TLC Events were amazing! From the moment we reached out to TLC, he was responsive and welcoming. He explained all the services and listened to what we wanted and needed for our wedding. Our wedding was a blending of cultures and we wanted to incorporate that into our reception. Adrian and his team knocked it out of the park! They had everyone dancing and out of their seats the whole night! We had given Adrian a list of must plays but left it to the team to fill in the rest and they did not disappoint!! The whole set-up was beautiful, from the DJ booth to the photo booth! We were so impressed. Guests we did not think would dance were out on the dance floor groovin' along. We have continued to receive compliments on our music choices. My only regret of the night is that I did not spend enough time on the dance floor!!! I hope to use TLC again in the future!! Thank you, Adrian and TLC Events!!!”

“Let me start by saying my wedding was a tall order! I wanted a wedding that was gothic, elegant, Victorian-inspired, dark, and moody. We were going for gothic without it being “scare grandma” gothic! And to make it a step harder, our wedding was in a very modern looking building in Manhattan. And to make it even one step harder, my husband and I are based in Ireland. Lauren completely understood my vision and designed the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen. We had so many friends and family approach us about how beautiful the decor was, and even multiple members of staff and various vendors saying they have never seen the venue look so amazing. Her attention to detail is beyond phenomenal and everything is done with such thoughtfulness and due diligence. Lauren was so organised throughout the entire wedding planning process. She helped us look for the best vendors, she went to view different tablecloth landscapes and furniture when we couldn’t (again, we live abroad!) and kept me up to date every step of the way without bombarding us so we could continue to regulate life outside of wedding planning. I have recommended Lauren multiple times to newly engaged friends, and will continue to recommend City and Terrace in the future! You truly cannot get a better wedding planner who listens to the couples’ wants and needs, understands, and most importantly keeps you calm and organised through the chaotic planning process! Her attention to detail is phenomenal. I highly recommend.”

Our wedding took place in December 2024, just a few days after Christmas—a timing that had both its challenges and blessings. Despite the busy holiday season, Dj Sparkx took the time to thoroughly go over all our preferences and ensure everything was perfectly planned for our big day. On the wedding day, he exceeded all our expectations. Our guests are still raving about how engaging he was and how skillfully he played music that resonated with both sides of our family. Dj Sparkx masterfully balanced the Caribbean spice with the classic American hits, making the event enjoyable for everyone. He is versatile and does his research for any cultural background!
